Not only do I currently have Jupiter backing and forthing through my first house, but I also have Pr. Jupiter a few degrees away from my natal ASC. And I keep gaining weight! And it seems I'm always hungry no matter how much I eat and I still want more - well, not me, my stomach.

I thought maybe it was astro-myth but I'm finding it harder and harder to keep my girlish figure and I'm starting to think it's a Jupiter thing.

Has anyone else experienced this happening while Tr. Jupiter was in your first house?

Jupiter does tend to "inflate" everything including our body! I have observed that when someone has a hard aspect from Jupiter to the Ascendant that they are often very tall or have weight issues. That is in the natal chart though.

Since this is just a transit I feel that the weight will be much more easily dropped when Jupiter is moving on down the road!

Sorry Scorcha. I empathize. I've had weight issues before. Maybe at that time without even knowing it I had some Jupiter 1H/ASC stuff going on.

A relative with this issue has her natal Jupiter in the 1st, quincunx Venus. I wonder if that represents overindulgence for her, and a tendency to weight gain with it in her 1st of appearance...

Anyway, best of luck to you. This isn't permanent and you will recover. Stay strong. Jupiter tends to overindulge so if you must, do so with walks and health food, fruits, veggies and mint gum.

Gah! Thank God I don't have a car right now. (Except that I live downtown within shouting distance of a lot of take-out. )But really, most of the time I am eating well, I just seem to be eating A LOT. And it's not like emotional eating. My stomach is actually growling for food.

What happened when Jupiter left your 1st house? Did things go back to normal?

I hope you are right. I always wondered if it was really true about the whole body inflation thing. And now I know. It's funny (not ha ha, just odd) that it would happen so quickly. It's like my normal metabolism has gone on vacation. I sort of think that Pr. Jupiter nearing my natal ASC might mean that this is what it will always be like now...?

Thank you And thanks for the empathy - it's frustrating, no? Empathy back at you Yes I do know some people with natal Sag ASC who have to work extra hard to keep their weight balanced. I guess I have never had to work overly hard because my family has a pretty fast metabolism, plus I was a dancer for years and so I was really active too.

And yes, I am definitely trying to eat super-extra healthy. I've had more hummus and veggies in the last week than I can recall. Still, I only have 2 pairs of pants left that will fit - thank you stretchy jeans. I know there are bigger problems in the world than gaining weight but from a practical standpoint, I honestly cannot afford to buy an entirely new wardrobe so I was hoping that maybe people here had experience with this transit and had a similar experience.

Also, I'm a bit bummed so far (no pun intended). I think I was hoping for more fun, less fat with a 1st house Jupiter transit.

Oh yeah... I had Jupiter back and forth over my ASC about a year ago. Have 10 lbs. extra to show for it, too. Still hasn't gone away, either. I've always eaten heathy, and exercise regularly. Ggghh! Very, very frustrating.

See, this is what worries me. ^^^ And yes I sympathize - it's just one of those things which I find frustrating because it seems I can't do anything about it.

Can I ask, were you extra hungry during the transit? Or did you eat the way you always had but just gained weight?
I ask this because I am trying to understand the relationship of transit to real life. It's not like Jupiter is actually arriving on my doorstep with a basket of pastries and force feeding me. It's my body actually behaving in a new way, which seems out of my control - so it's me and Tr. Jupiter is really just the indicator of....?. Hm.

I have not noticed anything with Jupiter in Gemini - but Jupiter is far away from my Rising degree. I doubt it will have any effect on my weight.

19 Gemini.....The transit will only be a few days - next year only.....

Well, Jupiter is now past my ASC and I'm still struggling with it so maybe there are some aspects I need to take into consideration?

Ah! Good question, and I sympathize with you, too! It sure is fun to have t.Jupiter around all nice and cozy, but on the other hand... Ugh! For me, I didn't change a thing. Ate what I usually ate, and I even added regular hiking to running 3x a week. Did no good whatsoever. The dang fool needle on the weight scale just went up, and up, and up.

OTOH, t.Saturn is/was doing some funky things through my 6th house (health), opposite my n.Sun (self). So, don't know if that might be the reason why I can't seem to lose the weight at all.

Well, my 2nd house starts at 12 degrees Gemini, i think so it's still kinda there.. Also, i've had progressed jupiter on my ascendant for a while, now..

I'm typing this to you as i eat, too..

I used to go workout with a group of guys. We had the luxury and could afford to literally be there all day. Afterward, we'd go to a buffet... Yeah, the waiters there would want to pop their eyes out of their head when they saw how much food we ate.

Something happened as jupiter got near my ascendant and i had to pull out and stop the gym vut, i kinda kept eating as i was when i was working out all-day-long and that contributed.

My stomach would put death threats on my pillow if i tried to alter my eating because i'd feel so hungry!

The good news is that i didn't eat unhealthy food but it's just that i was eating so much so the weight was maybe 10-15 lbs.. Still, those are 10 and 15 pounds that were not on me before and certainly should not have gone straight to my thighs... S-turn was moving through my sixth house and that helped as it could've gotten nasty if i really "let go".

Once i leaves my first til it returns in 12 years, i'll let u know.

Interesting....I actually lost weight. A lot of weight. Dropped 4 sizes. I was kind of shocked but whatever works. My natal Jupiter is rx in Taurus & jupiter has been going back & forth through my first house running over and backing up on my moon...lol

Thanks for all your replies Saturn is going through my 6th house too right now so clearly it's a good time to get a new healthier plan in gear. And actually, now that I recall 12 years ago, that was the only other time period that I gained weight and so that gives me hope that I might fit back in my jeans soon-ish.

Interesting how some gained and some lost but so far everyone who has posted had a weight fluctuation of some kind.

I can somewhat relate..

tJupiter is in my 1st, and I am hungry like.. most of the time, which is annoying. I think I'm having health issues, not sure what exactly but I've been feeling a bit sick for like a whole month and it's worrying me.

I have tSaturn in the 6th too and I think I'll have to learn the lessons the hard way (through illness , although I hope not..)

So anyway, I haven't put up too much weight but I can see/feel a difference, yep.

Good luck with losing weight, btw.

S-turn is exalted in libra so i have great health. The transit did get me to develop a distate for drinking, though.. I started taking good supplements and cut my diet down to veggies fruits and nuts.

It also seemed like my responsibilities had no end til j realized what actually was my responsibility and what wasn't. It was just dreadfully boring!!!!

Great thread title. Ha! ...Now you know what those of us with natal Jupiter issues have to deal with.

Natal Jupiter is exactly conjunct my ASC, in Sagittarius. ...This thread is actually making me feel BETTER about myself, realizing that my gaining weight over the last several years--and in occasions in the past--has been somewhat understandable. Yes, I eat because I am genuinely hungry!

As someone else mentioned, I suddenly found it easy to be extra disciplined about my diet several months ago, exactly when T. Jupiter hit my 6th house. So, I've managed to lose about 25 lbs without much pain, just cutting out most sugar and starch.

Of course, now that it is leaving my 6th house, we'll see how long it lasts!

Doux, I think a lot of us with Gem Ascendants are going through a similar thing - Jupiter in the 1st is drawing attention to our eating habits and Saturn in the 6th is forcing us to look more closely at the whys and what we can do about it. Good luck to you with your health. I understand bc I have similar health concerns.

C1ND3R, I have an ex with Saturn in Libra and he was always as strong as an ox in the health department. Plus he is a Scorpio and for some reason Scorps seem to have an ability to rarely get sick.

Jovian, Yep I am definitely in new territory and I can relate to all my ex bfs who had Sag Ascendants a lot better now. Before I had a harder time understanding what they were experiencing and so it's a good experience in that sense - new levels of compassion and empathy!

Congrats on losing the weight. It really does feel better to be a healthy weight as I have discovered by gaining it. My back is actually sore from having an extra 15 to lug around (I have small joints) and so I have a new level of respect for this struggle even though it might small to some. I'm sure that you can continue on with your new regimen after Jupiter leaves your 6th

I can relate I started a food diary. Jupiter is also conjuncting my moon and squareing my mercury Venus and Mars. I want it to just jump it into cancer already. I usually have self control but lovely Jupiter is screwing me over.

Ive so many positive progression in my chart and I think its there from I got the problem .

T Jupiter in house 11 has been in conj to my moon 6 in gemini but its now out of orb.

In anycase I dont care because I feel everything feels so good...It doesnt matter..
