So far this election has been relatively boring, so maybe something *interesting* will happen.

You know what i noticed? We had mercury retro when bush and gore were up for office BUT, neither were up for re-election................ With mercury going retro (infamous for looking back and reviewing things), does that mean that Obama gets another go and his term gets another shot at doing what he ran on without as many filibusters from the republican party, this time around? Him and Biden (Scorpio- along with Hilary and many others with him) will be feeling s-turn....

I'm assuming that they'll be less likely to play around much if elected again and seriously get down to business...

The standstill of the last 4 years i do not believe have been obama's fault but i do think it is the influence of the clash between parties and the result it being standstill.. Aka s-turn in Libra.

You bring up a good point. In 2000 we were not going back to an incumbent, but back to another Bush and similar policies.

Here are some past elections with Mercury Rx:

Nov. 4, 1980 [Mercury 8 Scorpio]: Incumbent Carter lost to Reagan in a landslide.

Nov. 8, 1960 [Merc 13 Scorpio]: No incumbent. JFK barely beat Nixon in popular vote, but won handily with electoral votes.

Nov. 5, 1940 [Merc 26 Scorpio]: Incumbent FDR won his 3rd term easily defeating Wendell Willke in a landslide.

Nov. 3, 1908 [Merc 28 Libra]: William Howard Taft who had been previous president Teddy Roosevelt's protege defeated William Jennings Bryan.

Nov. 6, 1888 [Merc 2 Scorpio]: Incumbent Grover Cleveland won the popular vote, but lost in electoral votes to Benjamin Harrison.

So there is no clear pattern regarding who benefits with Mercury Rx on election day.

However, there is a pattern used in ancient astrology regarding Venus rising before the sun (morning star). It favors the sitting leader. Venus (behind the Sun in the zodiac) will be rising before the Sun on election day this year. There can always be particulars related to the nation's chart that can override this Venus pattern, as happened in some elections past.
