What exactly ARE dominate planets? And what significance does this have with you personally? Does is 'shade' curtain aspects of your personality? I was trying to figure this out earlier but every explanation was just making me even more confused than before? I was just looking at mine a little while ago and I just can't seem to understand the difference between Pullen and Color.I'm sorry I'm a noob at astrology and in-general get really confused really fast.IP: Logged |

There's a breakover point in astrology where it gets so complex that you go cross-eyed, and then your own preferences just take over. So you just use the charts to construct meaning as best you can...at least, that's how I play the game. IP: Logged |

Nah don't be sorry it's cool Dominants can be seen in various ways but these are the typical things that get taken into account, -number of aspects (the more the better) -conjunctions particularly but also hard aspects to luminaries (sun.moon) -being in hard aspect to the angles, particularly the conjunct but all hard aspects work -asc ruler, where it's placed, what's it doing -sun's house & sign automatically get notice -stellium in a particular sign or house (a build up) -the dispositor of stellium (for example sun/mercury/venus/jupiter in aquarius - look at Uranus) -final dispositor(s) (the zodiac trail back to what really gets the chart moving and grooving) -mutual receptions (venus in gemini, mercury in taurus)So for a dominant it's not just going to fit one of the above criteria ^ it'll be multiple. For example Venus is one of mine: it's angular, receives many aspects, conjunct a luminary, in mutual reception, plus also there's a stellium in Libra (Venus ruled), and she's in aspect to another dominant in my chart, Pluto, so they tag along together. So it's obvious to see why she gets so much attention. Not all charts will have stand out dominants. The significance for a dominant is that it strongly colors the life, the themes of that planet will be stronger for that person, based on what it's doing in the chart - very particular to that person. It's a good way to zero in on some of the major life themes. It's not the only way to zero in on a chart but it's one of the strongest. If you're super interested post your chart in Personal Readings or the data and I'll look at the list of Color/Pullen dominants and tell you how they got to that point. IP: Logged |

Hi sand, well one very simply put is the power of love really (Venus/Pluto). People throw that phrase around or look at it in a cliched context but it's something else to realize in a very concrete sense the power that your love can have as a force for changing someone's life, as a healing energy in particular which is a strong part of my life as well. That's one of the themes for me particularly since Moon is conj Venus. We differ in that way in our themes (possibly? i don't know much of your life) since you have the square, even tho Moon isn't one of my dominants it certainly plays a big role since it's in strong aspect to both.IP: Logged |

I can see how it came up with Mercury being that I fit very well with Mercury qualities the same with Chiron and uranus, Mars. ------------------ "You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming?
