I have a lack of Air in my chart. I'm very shy and I don't really initiate conversation with others. I used to not take criticism well , but now that I'm getting older I realize that criticism helps you improve. I remember when I first started dancing I would give death stares & roll my eyes at the teacher because she would criticize me a lot lol. I was a rude 15 year old. I noticed that because I lack air in my chart, I get REALLY attracted to people who have lots of air in their chart. They have everything I lack. IP: Logged |

Lack of earth means that you lack practicality. That applies to me. But if your angles are in an earthy sign then that helps. Bill Gates has no earth planets but his dsc is in an earth sign.

Yes--I have many articles on Voids. I will put some up for you. I think an earth void is the easiest as lack of the others seems really hard.

My Libra bff has a fire void. She's passive and introverted. She's pretty much a deer! Loud noises and sudden movements, BAM she's scared off. Fire voids seem to have no assertion. They're not go getters in the slightest. With earth voids, I think they have a might lack of practicality, but that's kinda iffy. I find it's hard for them to understand new things more often. I find some people often dislike them too, and they're often confused when it comes to themselves/concerns of the self. My Cancer bff has a few cusp planets, but no actual air signs. There's a definite withdraw with air voids. I think that an air void lacks creativity. They enjoy what they enjoy, and generally keep to that. They don't like to break routine and try new things. Lastly, with water voids, I notice they can be destructive/aggressive, and not be keen to the damage they cause. Selfishness is among their qualities. quote: ~ I was super, incredibly, horribly shy as a child.... I barely spoke over a hush. I did not communicate well at all... very alienated from my peers at that time.
Sounds like an earth dominant person to me! IP: Logged |

Lmfao!!!! Fire: 82.2 / 14.0% Earth: 92.4 / 15.7% Air: 147.1 / 25.0% Water: 266.0 / 45.3% I love water, but I feel more fiery than I do airy. Earth for sure is rather down there. In the end, I think the prevailing influences of my chart are the Leo forces and the Scorpio. At the centre is Jupiter in Scorpio, which is conjunct Sun and Pluto on either side. Then, from Leo, my Mars squares Sun/Jupiter while my rising squares Jupiter/Pluto. That's what I feel the most connected to. IP: Logged |

Hello bridgetostars23! Welcome to LL When you lack an element, look to the houses that rule that element and if any planets are posited within that can offset your lack of that element. Yes, that makes sense. Let's see if I can figure it out. According to Astro.com this is my break down: Fire: 194.6 / 25.0% Earth: 181.2 / 23.3% Air: 114.3 / 14.7% Water: 287.1 / 36.9% 3rd house: 7th house: 11th house: Mercury, Saturn and Uranus (all Sagittarius) So perhaps that offsets the "lack of air"?

Lacking an element completely - implies you have no Planets and no Houses in a sign related to a specific element - which it's possible but it's very rare and even then - it doesn't lack an element completely cause even asteroids ad some air/fire/water/earth - influence to the chart... yet, in those cases it feels different - same element can have a slightly different vibe (alien like).Fire: 220.5 / 34.6% Earth: 97.3 / 15.2% Air: 213.0 / 33.4% Water: 107.0 / 16.8% "by your powers combined, i am Captain Planet!" I really feel my void. I also have way too much fixed energy in my chart and that only makes matters worse. I am very stuck in my ways and don't know how to end things/move on, even when it is painfully obvious that I should. I suck at budgeting and saving though and have no practical/common sense. I lack patience despite being slow/always running late myself (again, heavily fixed). Like I said, I really feel my earth void. I am always in awe of earthy people and I desperately need the stability they provide.
My only earth is the MC - so a major void, so to speak? And I'm over endowed with fixed energy - Sun, Asc and Moon, all fixed for starters. Fixed energy, I thought might provide a grounding influence, but it appears not from your post. How do I explain that I am quite practically minded, not picky about tidiness, always on time, good at organising, have excelled at managing a building project - my own house, for example? One could argue that I may be over compensating but that could be the case for everyone who is well organised without being obsessive. In fact, the best organisers are good because they are obsessive to a degree. This still leaves the question as to how I may be experiencing an earth void. A few things comes to mind - I am a dreamer/visionary, good at making plans but poor at executing them - I need a good secretary to do the hard graft, unless I'm highly motivated. Left to my own devices I would spend the whole day dreaming and wondering. Procrastination is second nature to me, so unexciting but necessary tasks get shelved to be completed later (although well), just in the nick of time. Would you say these are earth void qualities? That definitely sounds like me, and it's made even worse by having a Pisces moon. I actually have a fairly high IQ and was placed in the gifted program at a young age - they wanted me to skip a grade, which my mother refused - but I cannot concentrate on boring, intellectually unstimulating tasks for long periods of time, which meant I was perpetually acing tests and perpetually failing homework (also means I quit a data entry job I once held after four days). Needless to say, school was not the place for me.
But that is supposed to be the thing about voids, they are supposed to represent our complexes, our obsessions. So an air void would probably be obsessed with reading and learning; an earth void is supposed to be obsessed with health, the body, sexuality, nutrition; a water void should be obsessed with close relationships, etc. IP: Logged |

I only have Pluto in Air (Libra) but then I have 5 planets incl Sun, Venus, Merc in 11H so I am more of an Aqua than Cancer...except that I FEEL more "me" looking at my progressed chart (Leo Sun (12H)/Taurus Moon (8H))...so I guess I'm confused. IP: Logged |
