Hey guys! Following the other thread ( http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/216781-2.html ) that debated whether Pisces or Scorpio is the best manipulator, I decided to open this new more general thread, as in the previous one, some people were a little offended.

So generally speaking, what aspects or placements do you think that make someone manipulative?

Also, do you believe that manipulating people has to do with synastry? Meaning that If someone can manipulate someone else, then it has to do with their synastry and not with the natal chart of the manipulator?

Firstly, I love those jumping frog icons, I'll have to wrk out how to do them too!

When it comes to control and manipulation I think we would need to look to Pluto - being the planet of control. I would suggest looking at aspects involving Pluto and Mercury, Mercury being the planet of communication.

The most controlling/manipulative person I know has a cancer sun, but is Pluto dominant. Pluto aspects all his interpersonal planets, including Mercury. I happen to care very deeply for this person so I recognise when and why he attempts to manipulate, it seems he cant stop himself.

Mercury-pluto,mercury-uranus,something which makes that person have knowledge about psychology should be there.I know a virgo and an aqua who can manipulate very well, aqua seems so detached and does not give a damn about the person who is manipulated and virgo just seems to analyze everything, everything seems so carefully planned and executed.

@KarkaQueen

Your reply is interesting, much Libra involved, and actually I'm so surprised I forgot Libras, because yeah I've known some that acted manipulating.

I'll be honest, I used to manipulate my friends during my high school years [not very often though], so I could get what I want. It always worked & they had no clue.I have Moon Square Pluto. If a personal planet is touched by Pluto, that would definitely indicate some manipulative tendencies.

In synastry too, Venus/Pluto & Mars/Pluto. I know a family member who had Mars/Pluto in a relationship & let me tell you it was a very dangerous relationship. I honestly thought that the relationship would be the death of her.

Sun square Neptune is a slippery personality, and yes they can be prone to manipulate.. very very badly.

I have Sun Oppos Neptune conjunct ASC but I dont manipulate anyone they manipulate me.
Mars and Sun Cancer 6H isnt too strongwilled either..

Oh yes the manipulator is a very bad one, sociopathic I think.... he also puts up this front that hes caring and relgiious but he actually dont care and hes wicked

-- Millyx - Pluto to any personal planet (agreed)

<-Mars Pluto in Sco III

been called manipulative in the past more than a few times... not something I'm proud of and I don't deliberately use manipulation in any form or to any purpose~ but, I think the potential is there, and if triggered maybe by a situation or transit, or what have you... Pluto in Scorp, and personal planets in Scorp, maybe those 8h/12h positions... and sure planets tightly aspect to Pluto or even Saturn --- may cause manipulative tendencies... power/control issues, more or less... I don't think just because it's in someone's chart (however/just to be clear) that such a person will be manipulative!~ but that they may have to control their impulses and deviant nature a little better, reign in their desires... they have an innate, pool - to draw from in these cases... likewise I'd think anyone with strong Mercury and Neptune aspects would have such a pool to draw from in manipulations~ so it's not confined just to Scorpio/Pluto elements/houses... but a mixture of each that may reinforce the urge, or inadvertently trigger such tendencies for manipulation in someone (even those with overall, seemingly good charts/good character).

Just my 2bits worth~

great discussion guys~

Pisces/Scorpio is 2nd scary, the most scary is Scorpio/Scorpio

Beware of Pisces Moon as well, at times, esp square moon lol!!

Another manipulative, but more hot headed and likes discord (like the other one but yeah)

Scorpio Moon Scoprio Sun

Scorpio Moon conjuncts Pluto
Pluto square Mars and Moon square Mars
Sag rising 1st house stellium

Libra can be surprisingly manipulative... Libra is an air sign, and famous Libran serial killers have been known for being able to say the right thing - air = communication - at the exact right time to be so successful in their terrible deeds.
These people know what you'll wanna hear and will say it to snow you, get their way! Fortunately most Librans don't do it for violent purposes.

I second Scorp also.

Other ideas: Mercury square Pluto in the 7th, Mercury in Scorpio un-aspected

Cancer and Pisces placements especially.
Moon hard aspect pluto
Sun hard aspect pluto, especially sun square pluto.

Welp, according to the general consensus I would be a master manipulator!

I have Pluto in Scorpio, exactly conjunct Mercury, conjunct Jupiter (orb 1), conjunct Sun in Sagittarius (orb 8 or something, anything within 10 degrees is fair game for conjunctions, right?), and square Mars in Leo (orb 2). My Venus is also in Scorpio, but not aspecting Pluto.

All of this is in the 7th house.

But I don't think I've very manipulative? Maybe it's the Sagittarius Sun influence, I don't know.

Or maybe I manipulate people without knowing, and am actually far more cunning than I give myself credit for.

Definitely Neptune more so than Pluto.
Pluto literally controls things, like mobster boss.

This is me! I am a Cancer Sun (decan 2) but Pluto squares my sun, moon and mercury. If I am left to my own devices I WILL manipulate you...and then I'll manipulate you so that you won't know you were being manipulated in the first place.

I meant Pluto in the 7th, making a square to Mercury. I have a family member with this, she is extremely manipulative of her husband.... Pluto = dominance, control and manipulations [Scorpio is this] so it makes sense she'd face issues in her lifetime like this concerning partnerships.

I'm sorry, but for the "manipulative" people that replied, why do you sound so proud?

"Haha, **** yeah! I'm so cunning and manipulative! My charisma is off the charts! I'm like Jim Jones. Just drink the kool-aid and you'll be under my spell <3 xoxo"

^ That's what you all look like. But yes let's all take pride in our sociopathic tendencies. Maybe one day we'll be as cool and hot as Jeffery Dahmer.

I have known so many manipulative Cancers...

Like I do a lot of reading and I know what tactics to use to make people feel a certain way and I can just as well manipulate situations.. I don't however because unless I'm doing it as a private joke to myself or to prove to myself I can accomplish it as a mini mission whenever I try to manipulate someone I feel so wrong and fake and I can't do it

So like all these great skills I have I cant even use because I don't want to be fake
