I'm a Cap myself.

What I've noticed is that we do care a lot about security. Making sure we have all of our material needs provided for is important for us. We take security seriously, hate to feel 'unsafe', and tend not to do rash, irresponsible things that could risk our security.

Capricorns tend to be no-nonsense, and don’t have time for idiots, fools and hopeless cases. It’s not that Caps are unkind, so much as they won’t put up with someone who is more trouble then they are worth. Or someone who could potentially mess up Caps life. Most Capricorns will not put up with mistreatment in relationships for too long. They’ll cut off the offending person and leave. They may stay and try to help if someone demonstrates the potential to move past their problems, but if not a Cap will cut their losses and move on. Capricorns are not doormat material.

Capricorns tend to take a realistic, slightly cynical view on the world and don't easily trust others until we know them well. It takes time to build up a relationship with us. We are cautious in the game of love and tend to guard our hearts, and our vulnerability. Once we have accepted you as part of our lives, though, we are very loyal, and will look out for you. The good Caps tend to be sincere and unflinchingly dedicated. When we’re really in-love we’ll start including you in our plans for the future, and will stick by you in good times and in bad. There is a type of ‘bad’ Cap to look out for though… This type of Cap is a social climber and a user. These types can be quite heartless in how they use others to get what the are aiming for, and quite narrow minded and snobby in their attitudes toward others in general. Hey, there’s a negative side to every sign and this is the negative side of Cap. Most Caps are the good type though.

Capricorns are focused, driven perfectionists! Once we have a goal or mission to focus on we give it our all to be the best we can be. Caps are naturally self-disciplined and motivated in this way. However, not all Capricorns always have a 'mission' in there lives at all times. They may go through phases where they actually don't feel that ambitious about anything in particular. When Capricorns are not in 'mission mode' they'll still care a lot about security and safety, but may not feel pressed work harder then necessary to maintain their quality of life. There is a complacent, lazy sort of Cap… At least until they find a ‘mission’ that calls to them.

Capricorns are determined, don’t give up easily, and are good planners. Once we have a plan in mind we’ll keep working at until we get to where we’re headed. When a Capricorn fails at something, it does hurt, but we try to just pick ourselves up and keep going regardless. If at first you don’t succeed try, try, try again. Also a Capricorns plan may not always be about furthering their career, although this is common. Caps apply this type of attitude to any life-goal you might imagine. And yes, Caps are calculating when it comes to reaching their goals. We weigh the pros and cons of things, and make sure we’re sure of our decisions before acting.

Capricorns are funny. They tend to have a dry observational sort of humor, and the ones with Sag planets can even have a bit of a goofball side. Some of them can seem so fun, you might not be aware of their serious responsible side until you’ve really gotten to know them.

When it comes to sociability there is a wide variation when it comes to Caps. When they are young many Capricorns are painfully shy, and may feel like they don’t fit in with their peers. We tend to become more confident and sure of ourselves as we grow older. Some Caps really are antisocial because they just can’t be bothered dealing with too many other people. This type tends not to care if they are social or not. Some Capricorns are naturally reserved and shy, but would like to learn to be more social, and usually do get better at it as the get older. Then there’s the more outgoing, social type of Capricorn who probably has a lot of Air or Fire elsewhere in the chart… This type can ‘trick’ people in to believing they are more carefree then they really are. Then once you get to know them you discover their calculating, serious, goal oriented, security loving side.

I think it’s a myth that Capricorns are only attracted to old, boring, conventional things in terms of interests, hobbies and having a sense of style. We don’t all want to wear stodgy old grey clothing all the time, nor do we all have a passion for stamp collecting, pidgin watching, and reading dictionaries! A lot of Capricorns are multifaceted, interesting and colorful when it comes to their style and hobbies. Like in my case, I’m
obsessed with astrology, and have dabblings in Tarot and numerology. I also believe in reincarnation, life on other planets, and some paranormal phenomena like the existence of spirits guides and ghosts. I’m way out there compared to the boring hobbies a Capricorn is supposed to have.

Capricorn as a sign itself is naturally calm and steady on an emotional level. They do have feelings, but they tend not to let their emotions run away with them, and remain level headed about things the majority of the time. If a Capricorn has a lot of Water of Fire in their charts elsewhere they can have a passionate/ emotional side that may be too intense for their Capricorn Sun… This could lead to an internal struggle to keep their emotions under control in some cases, where the Cap may even disapprove of their own responses to things. In other cases it can lead to a seemingly stoic type who becomes delightfully expressive and affectionate once they have learned to trust you.

Personally I think Capricorn influenced folks are fascinating people.

I would disagree with a few of the things said here, but for the most part I can relate.

I am a Capricorn and know many other Caps, too. My sister is also one. So, based on my observations..

-Capricorn females are kinda crazy. We are intense and like to have a good time and know how to party. We can get psycho on your a$$, though.

-We are independent. That doesn't mean we don't like to have a man around, but it means that we know we don't NEED one.

-We are funny and kinda like inappropriate humor

-We take pride in our appearance - even the casual, laid back Capricorn does *something* to make themselves think they look good.

-Some of us might be lazy at home, but at work we are impressive..even if we don't like the work or want to do it - we do it well, anyway.

This Capricorn male (plus Mars and Mercury) is a bit different. Success drives recognition. But I frankly don't care about what others think. I like a big sand box with lots of toys. I like a good life and my mission is to be the best possible provider to my family. Whatever they desire, as long as it is within their means, they get and I gladly give. Diddy said "F*ck being a broke nigga," and I totally agree. And if others wanna hate me while I ride in a smooth whip, then the haters will continue hating.

And I give a large portion of my paycheck to the less fortunate. Having a relationship with God lets me wake up each morning sane and coherent.

And I don't compete to come in second, and I don't go to school to get Bs.

Cappy to a "T"

Would point out that for Cappy's, there are lots of toys in the sand box, they rarely really enjoy them.

When the family plays in the big sandbox with the toys, this Cappy is delighted and derives immense satisfaction. So, this guy *is* serious and disciplined. This guy does focus on achievement *not work itself*. And this guy does dress for success.

I don't know about y'all but this Capricorn HATES not having her own money.

When I started at a university as a freshman, I couldn't have a job and I was miserable! My parents told me not to worry because they would provide what I needed, but I like what I need + what I want. Plus, when I'm not my own provider, I feel like...nasty. i don't like anything just handed to me.

I also feel that I'm not in control when someone is just giving me things.

Oh my Mrs. was absolutely successful in her own right and was an executive at a leading firm before we made the decision for her to focus on the family. Whatever it is, the Leo in her isn't living a life in anything that isn't surrounded by luxury. "My mama didnt raise me to..." is one is her standard phrases.

Or, uncomfortable that someone cares that much as it could go away.

Trust issues=Cappy Trait

My friend:

-worked insanely hard, 2 jobs, a small business and his hobby was restoring an old car he found in a junk yard

-surprisingly mobile, one would think he'd drop anchor and buy a home etc, nah, up and down the East Coast and all over with the circus

Very very consistent fella, one quibble is he was not a very creative fella when it came to business.

He was very much a work harder type

Thank you, Padre35. You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, the day I am contented with myself would be the day they bury me. Happiness with myself is elusive.

And my dogs are cute and rascally. And next to impossible to train. They are loyal and loving, but far from obedient. Thankfully, they are so cute. I have several French Bulldogs.

Nice!

My buddy had a cat, they seemed suited to each other, one day he wandered away, so did he.

They each understood.

Goatcat,

I take it that you are either a December 1987 or January 1988. I assume the "cat" part refers to the Lunar Horoscope. I understand you may be either Vietnamese or prefer the Vietnamese version of "cat.". I'm tge same, being a Water Rabbit. Anyway, many happy solar returns and have a fabulous birthday.

I think it depends on the type of crowd you hang with.

Even as a young teen I was more the typical 'good girl' type of Capricorn. I liked to have fun with friends sometimes, and I liked crazy humor... But wasn't interested in excessive drinking, smoking, doing drugs, or sleeping around. Not my thing. Although I love music.

I think even when Caps are into 'partying' in the stereotypical sense, they tend to be ones won't go too overboard with it... Like they wouldn't let it get them fired or kicked out of school. And if this did happen a Cap is more likely then most to learn from their mistakes, and not repeat the behavior. Whereas some other signs might go 'Screw the World Anyway' and get worse. Caps seem to be pretty good judges of when to start reigning in any behavior that might threaten their security.
