I have a best friend, born in a different country, whose life events bear an uncanny resemblance to mine - born in same month, same year (She's Libra and I a Libra/Scorpio cusp), married in same year to Aries men, two sons each, the first born in same month same year. We also have similar interests, same Univ. degree, same career etc.I looked at our synastry chart and laughed out loud to see so many conjunctions. I guess we may have very similar life purposes. Have posted it here as I thought it may be of interest. I find this friend is like a guide and I depend upon her advice when feeling lost and low. Would you say she is my astro twin?

I wish I could share the sentiment.I've actually met someone who was born the same year, month, day etc but there was no such similarities. Our lives unfolded in disimilar ways and our relationships were way diff. Maybe they are your astro twin. IP: Logged |

My turn to say wow Redscorp. I wonder how similar we are in other respects. Btw, I was a teacher, now divorced with two great kids and have a wide range of interests. However, had a hideously bad marriage many years ago, which I think I've now recovered from. Any you? I'll keep a look out for your postings and see how we compare. IP: Logged |

This is interesting!I have an acquaintance born three days after me. We both went to the same college, she was an art history major, I was an art history minor. I wanted to leave after one semester, she actually left. We re-connected about 12 years later through a mutual friend. Turns out we both married much older men (Venus trine Saturn.) Her husband is a fisherman in Alaska, my husband was taking sailing lessons all last summer. She and I both bought acreage with the intention to homestead, and we both have four sons and one daughter, with the daughter coming second. We also both gave some children conventional names, and some children highly unusual names. There are more similarities but I forget. IP: Logged |

That is stranger than fiction! It seems that both key life events and qualities are dependent on or related to birthdays for some people. I have heard of such people being described as soul brothers or sisters. These people have the same life challenges or lessons to learn. There may very well be an assembly line of souls waiting to be born and a few who have similar requirements are allocated similar live events to speed up the process. What a thought! IP: Logged |

Oh lord I haven't married yet, my interests are pretty much earning money, spending money (on clothes!), watching movies, and drinking. I draw/write sometimes too...oh! And I like crushing on people I'll never ever talk to. IP: Logged |

What is your birth date Redscorp? Mine is 26th Oct. We're probably alike in qualities but not in life events. You sound a lot younger than me, for example. More about me: I am essentially a dreamer - can spend days dreaming. Get very enthusiastic about new projects that interest me and when I've achieved what I set out to do, I lose interest and look for the next challenge. Or else work becomes tedious. I hate the laborious day to day tasks which, although essential, are best left to another. I write and publish educational resources, have a keen eye, and recently began using film in my work. I used to be very, very shy with guys, but no longer. Have grown up in that respect - thank goodness! IP: Logged |

Hi Geeky, You appear to have a few conjuntions and other positive aspects, I'm sure, as you would with a best friend. The chart I posted of my friend and me actually isn't a replica since her planets fall in different houses. What is remarkable is the order in which the planets lie or else there wouldn't be that close synastry comprising mainly of conjunctions. So, supposing she's my soul sister (this was suggested to me by a clairvoyant once), we have much in common, in addition to interests and life events and close birth dates. Close birth dates would be essential, I imagine, for this degree of similarity to occur. However, there are also key differences - she is still married, although has considered divorce. Again has been presented with similar challenges - that seems to be the defining element between soul siblings. IP: Logged |

That's amazing! I have an astro twin who I knew through an ex boyfriend. We were not friends, just acquaintances but we were born the exact same year and day, just hours apart, in the same area. Our childhood was very similar but her parents stayed together and mine got divorced and I think that was one of the first major differences. Funnily enough, we did end up having similar paths in a way but for very different reasons. She stuck with her religious upbringing and I went my own way spiritually. We both travelled around the world but she went as a missionary and I went for my own reasons - mostly cultural and personal interest but also because of my own spirituality. She married an Aries man and I was planning to marry an Aries man (both were born the same year several days apart) but my relationship ended and she is still married. There are a bunch of other weird similarities as well although the timing is slightly different which is likely accounted for by different house positions I guess. I often think about her and how we might have so many more similarities if just a few things had been different for one of us. IP: Logged |

The examples given by Faith and Sorcha are fascinating and make one wonder how common these occurrences are. I wonder how often those people born in the same place same time, whilst they may have many similar qualities, have similar life events. This sort of data must have been researched by astrologers. It is likely that close proximity in birth date and time results in greater similarity in the choices one makes and interests and even synchronicity in other events, e.g., marrying people with the same sign. In every likelihood there is a higher synchronicity than in a random sample. The synastry chart I posted at the start of this thread proved one very important thing however - synastry charts matter and make sense. The fact that the synastry chart revealed a parallel image was remarkable and that dispelled doubts I had about their validity. IP: Logged |

Did you have doubts astrokeen? I definitely believe that synastry works although it all lies in the interpretation and synthesis. IP: Logged |

I'm relatively new to relationship astrology and I try to be skeptical and ask 'what if' questions rather than believing outright. So, wondered if using overlays was a valid method. Composite charts based as they are on the midpoints, in fact, seem to me to be a little far fetched - we say let's do this and see what we come up with and now let's justify our readings, which we can as astrology always throws up some interpretations to the contrary if we look hard enough. I am now convinced of the validity of synastry charts, but the jury is still out on composites. IP: Logged |
