Hmm, I can see that. I like to think of myself as very intelligent, but sometimes I can come off as a bit of a snobby intellectual who only associates with other snobby intellectuals! IP: Logged |

Right, my mother had to PROVE she could fix things i.e could work well with the things of the earth. The void does not have this, as I am an earth void, as I said. I don't feel i have to prove anything of the earth. I just stink
I accept it, thought. That is the difference with the Singleton and the void. The void does not feel he has to prove he can do well in the element and the Singelton does ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal

I have Venus in Aqua, my only air planet if one ignores Gemini Asc I haven't noticed any such tendencies about myself Besides my Venus is conj mars so whatever happens is due to this aspect I guess I have read that people with a singleton Venus feel dissatisfaction with who is interested in them - yeah this happens a lot, most men who ask me out come across as total rubbish - does anyone have a similar problem? But then I have been able to have the ones I wanted too IP: Logged |

ASC doesn't count. Mars conj Your Venus would make the big difference in that the Aqua energy would be mixed with more of a fire energy by the nature of mars. Yes, I guess you have to look at what the Singelton is doing when you ***** it. Thanks so much for this comment--another important thought to put in the mix!

I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 5h. Singleton. It has definitely driven me very deep into all types of psychology. I'm especially good at noticing how the media manipulates others thinking.IP: Logged |

Like someone with no water who cries constantly, or someone with no earth being preoccupied with earthly concerns like acquiring wealth. It's not that they use them first because they have a 'strength' in that area, it's more of a natural inclination towards trying to achieve balance and make up for what they lack. Even so, it's not always true that when you have a lack of an element, that you'll try to compensate, either. I have *only* my Venus and Chiron in earth, nothing else, and I've gotten to the point where I've finally admitted to myself that I'm just not a practical person and that mundane, and monetary earthly type concerns hold little to no interest for me whatsoever. I'm one of those people who spaces out and their mind starts wandering, or they procrastinate wherever anything related to that element is concerned. I've had people try to make me feel like that was some kind of fundamental flaw but honestly, it takes all types and not everybody is meant to be the same. Everyone has areas of specialty/focus, or whatever.
I can relate to this quite a bit but then perhaps you overcompensate in another way you haven't recognized as being related to your singleton. Like in my case, I DO have an obsession with the body/sensuality and cleanliness. Are you a neat freak or a health nut? I find with the earth singletons in particular, people tend to reduce what the element represents to just one thing too often, oftentimes money.

Interesting AQ Yes, my mother was obsessed with fixing things. if the dryer broker, she would get down with her tools, like a man and stay all day, until she was done. She has one Earth planet--Mars n Taurus. You know what? Maybe, she did this because it was Mars. That brings me to wonder if the role of the planet is WHERE we would get obsessed. What do you all think? ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Hers was Mars, so she would want to do. If you had Venus, would you be obsessed with love? If the Moon, would you be obsessed with emotions? If the Sun, would you be obsessed with your identity?

Hmm. Venus in Cap is my only Earth. ...Also, it is unaspected, unless you count a square to Pluto of 6 degrees. It DOES square Chiron quite tightly. Ugh. Indeed, SO much stuff related to love to heal. It is an area of fairly constant unhappiness and insecurity. Though this is an internal process, and not something I really talk about at all, other than processing it through astrological analysis on this site. Concerns with money are also an area of constant concern. IP: Logged |

Wow, Sweet-Scorpion expressed just what I was referring to, regarding my unaspected, singleton Venus above. This is from Vicky Madness' recent "Singletons" thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/213586.html quote: Originally posted by sweet-scorpion: 5. [...] Planets receiving zero major aspects are quite unique and add an extra flair to the chart. I think this allows the planet to act totally on its own without being helped OR hindered by another planetary body, but this can lead for it to either give us incredible anxieties with what it dictates in life, or it can overshadow and overpower us, making us obsessed with fulfilling its duties. I have a peregrine Sun and I have felt both frustrated and obsessed with my career since it is in H10. So the house the un-aspected planet in is important too.
So, this is referring to unaspected planets, not necessarily "singletons." It does seem to explain my Venus. So I'm now not sure how the fact that it is my only Earth comes into play. IP: Logged |

Ok, I got some new info. The PLANET gets powerful in the Singelton, not the element. Is that what it is?------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/
