What I’ve noticed is that physical attraction comes from a combination of mostly two factors, and that both are needed for an attraction to be fully developed.

1.) Planets in the partner’s chart aspecting the rulers of the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, or planets in the partner’s chart actually in your 5th, 7th, or 8th houses. Or planets aspecting your Vertex Axis or Juno.

AND…

2.) Traditional physical attraction synastry aspects like… Venus/Mars, Sun/Moon, Pluto/Mars and so on (I’m most of us a familiar with the traditional physical attraction aspects by now, there are like a million threads on them).

From my observation, the traditional physical attraction aspects can actually be present in synastry without any actual sexual attraction occurring… For instance, it’s entirely possible to have a Venus/Mars aspect with someone random, like a co-worker, and not feel a romantic/sexual attraction to them. HOWEVER, when the person in question has planets influencing the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, the Vertex Axis, or Juno, this tends to ACTIVATE traditional physical attraction synastry aspects. So that they can be felt in a sexual/romantic kind of way, rather then just in a platonic kind of way.

The 5th, 7th and 8th houses, the Vertex Axis, and Juno ACTIVATE synastry so that potential physical attraction in the synastry can be felt. When people hit these parts of our chart it tends to ‘open our eyes’ to them as a romantic possibility.

If I meet a Leo Sun then, does he automatically activate my 3H Juno in Leo?

Which is that people tend to flip out over folks whose planets land on their vertex, the most. Coming in second would be a synastry aspect between one persons inner planets or luminaries, and the other person's Pluto.

I've seen this with my own eyes. I tend to go bat5h1t crazy over anybody who has anything in their chart land anywhere near my Vertex, or if their Pluto touches my inner planets. If both happens? I go bonkers. I feel reeled in, and I have to be around them, or I can only go so long without being around them before I need to touch base somehow.

It's the same thing in terms of who I attract also - I've noticed that the people who seem to hover around me most, usually I touch/activate their vertex, or there's some kinda Pluto aspects going on. Even if they don't want to 'boink' me, per se, or even insist they dislike me, there's some kind of weird 'pull' there that makes them feel the need to drop by or circle around me on a regular basis, almost like a compulsion type of thing that they do on autopilot.

It has nothing to do with my (or their) fifth, seventh, eighth, twelfth, or any other houses I realized, once I thought about it.

Then again this might be colored by the fact that my Venus-Mars midpoint lands on my sun, and my Sun Moon midpoint lands in the exact same area as my Venus and Vertex.

Or it could just mean that they all play a factor - the Venus-Mars midpoint (people you get the hots for), the sun-moon midpoint (the people you feel make you whole or integrated), and the Vertex (that electric zing you feel when you first lay eyes on someone you wind up nuts about), or Pluto (for the compulsive, intense fascination and 'pull').

But it seems pretty consistent, because people whose planets land in those houses, but have no placements that connect to my Vertex, or there's no triggering involving Pluto...I might like them in a general sense, but it's usually a light-hearted, very temporary thing where I forget about them pretty fast.

I think Vertex and Pluto 'activation' in synastry makes the difference between, "Oh hey I like you, you're okay I guess" and...another monster, entirely.

I completely agree with you about the power of the Vertex! When the Vertex is activated in synastry the attraction tends to be electric and fascinating, as well as kind of obsessive. Synastry aspects involving the Vertex Axis are definitely head turners.

With Pluto, yes it can generate attraction under the right circumstances, but not always. I’m not irresistibly attracted to anybody and everybody who aspects my Pluto. Unless the person in question aspects my Vertex, or influences one or more of my 5th, 7th, or 8th houses, or Juno, they're just another random person.

Sometimes I even find Pluto aspects frightening in a very unromantic kind of way. I’ve got Pluto in the 11th house and when someone negatively aspects my Pluto, without a compensating trine or sextile, I find they make things difficult for me in my social environment… Like they try to pull power plays with me in group dynamics, as if they want people to turn against me or something. Personally, if there's not also a compensating sextile or trine to my Pluto,I try to avoid negative aspects to my Pluto in synastry. This is because of the unique way my chart is set up though. Some people actually LOVE all Pluto synastry good or bad. Especially if Pluto is in or rules one of the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, or either end of the Vertex Axis (the Vertex itself, or the Antivertex).

I must respectfully disagree about the influence of houses in attraction. I find the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses to be crucial in attraction. Not just the planets in houses thing (not just overlays!), but also the rulers of these houses aspecting important parts of the partner’s chart. Over the years, I’ve come to observe that people influencing each other’s 5th, 7th, and 8th houses (by overlay OR house ruler aspects), Vertex, and Juno, is what ACTIVATES physical attraction synastry, Pluto aspects included. If these types of interactions are missing in the synastry, Pluto aspecting personal planets can actually feel rather Platonic. Some traditional physical attraction aspects can be felt faintly without Vertex, Juno, and 5th, 7th, and 8th house interconnections between charts. This is usually when the aspect is really tight and powerful. Still, traditional physical attraction aspects never seem to reach their full potential unless they are ‘activated’ by the above mentioned factors. Only very mild attraction occurs at best when they are lacking. Synastry connections involving the 5th, 7th and 8th houses, the Vertex, and Juno, seem to ‘flip the switch’ between a platonic expression of an aspect and a romantic/sexual expression of an aspect.

i answered your question lol. cancers are usually attracted to me more then any other sign (i find this odd because i am an aquarius and a water void). cancer takes up most of my 5th house. I am most attracted to libra women, im not even joking.... if i were to walk into the mall or any public place and approach all the women i found attractive and ask them their birthday atleast 70% would be libra suns. libra is on my 8th house cusp. so my experience has been my 5th house(cancer) is attracted to me and im attracted to my 8th(libra).

to be honest, I noticed I attract Sagittarius men more than Virgos (8H).
I tried to find an explanation; maybe because I have Jupiter close to the DC.
I agree with the vertex comment, vertex is VERY strong.

Sorry am feeling kinda slow today. So 8 house from venus would be aquarius for me,but there's nothing in da house..what qualities would that be?

5th house is Taurus, Jupiter sits in it.8th house Leo. I always thought it was my 7th house but it seems cancer is my 7th house.

7th from moon is capricorn. TRUE for me!!

So I have a question.Wouldn't your ideal partner be the person you will mostly likely be attracted to ( that is romance) and therefore have sex with? That is if we are not into casual sex I mean..

The 7th, 8th house theory might work for other people. I have yet to have a Capricorn or Aqua man be really attracted to me. But my 5th house is in Scorpio and usually there was an attraction, majority of the time mutual as well. They have a difficult time being just friends with me.

Its funny because all the guys I can think that just wanted to be platonic friends with me or gave me friend zone status...Capricorn an Aqua Sun men.

Now I can mabe believe an attraction coming from say a Scorpio Sun with mabe a Moon or Venus in Aqua. The Sun would be hitting my 5th along with their Moon or Venus in my 8th. But as far as just the Sun signs itself, it doesnt happen lol.

Still dont know the reason why I am insanely attracted to Leos, especially the late degree ones. My Saturn is in Leo on 2nd/3rd cusp. And I find they are attracted to me most of the time as well.

Which way do we count? If I'm counting clockwise then I end up in my 7th house (Capricorn) with Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune there. So others see Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune qualities in me and are turned on by it?

7th from my moon, clockwise again, would be the 6th house (sag) with nothing in it (unless you count Pluto because it's so borderline on the cusp in the 5th house)

__

Counterclockwise from Venus- I would end up in my 3H ruled by LEO! The only thing in there is Juno.

CCW from my moon would end up in the 4th house, Virgo. I like Virgos and get along with them quite well! Although I've never been hot for one.

Ha ha. You answered your own question. Why are you attracted to Leos? Saturn in Leo rules your 7th house!

One thing that I've noticed about the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses attraction theory, is that different people latch onto certain parts of their pattern more then the rest of it. Meaning, some people are more attracted to the sign of the cusp ruler then the then the sign on the cusp itself. Some people are more attracted to a planet in the house in question (Like, having Venus in the 7th and liking Libra/Taurus energy). While others really do find the actual sign on the cusp more attractive. For whatever reason, perhaps it relates to childhood experiences or the way the rest of our chart is set up, different people 'prioritize' different parts of their 7th house pattern in terms of attraction. And sometimes the part that you're most attracted to changes over your lifespan, depending on your experience. Which part you 'prioritize' also varies from house to house (between the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses).

Like in my case, I've got Aries on the 5th house cusp ruled by Mars in Leo. For some reason I'm just more attracted to Aries then Leo. Although I do find Leo energy attractive in a way, the attraction to Aries is stronger. I seem to have prioritized the sign on my 5th house cusp over it's ruler. My 7th house is different yet again. I've got a Gemini Dsc ruled by Mercury in Sagittarius, plus Jupiter in the 7th house. I can find Gemini energy attractive, but usually I'm overwhelmingly more attracted to Sagittarius. The Sag part of my 7th house outweighs the Gemini part. A guy having a strong Mercury in his chart, or strong Mercury synastry with me is very attractive though. My 8th house is Cancer ruled by the Moon also in Cancer in the 8th house. 8th house ruler in the 8th. I really do seem to have a thing for Cancer and Scorpio by Moon sign, although usually not by Sun signs. I seem to prefer masculine Sun signs, especially Aries and Sagittarius, with water Moons.

I'll admit I'm not entirely sure why people prioritize different parts of their relationship houses. I just know that it happens. If two people both had Taurus on the Dsc ruled by Venus in Sagittarius, one could lean more towards liking Taurus, while the other could learn more towards liking Sagittarius. And yet a third person, with the exact same configuration, could go for both signs pretty much equally. It varies with each person. Each of the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses will attract us in some way though. We may just prioritize different parts of each of these houses in terms of what we're attracted to.

Also, different houses will refer to different parts of our partner's chart. In my case my 8th house usually relates to his Moon sign, and his Sun sign will usually relate to either my 5th, or 7th house. It works best if we look at our partners whole chart in terms of how they relate to our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses. And helps if we look beyond the signs on the cusps. Not taking the rulers into account is not only limiting but misleading. I also take note of the house in which the cusp rulers fall. This too can be very illuminating.
