Not sure about common, but it basically means you're introverted. Is that true for you? IP: Logged |

Yeah, it doesn't always play out that stereotypically. The most extroverted, outgoing person I know, has almost all their planets in the lower half of their chart - my younger sister. She's never in life, been shy. She's totally outgoing no matter where she goes or who she's with. I asked her in wonder and curiosity one day if she ever feels fear or shyness regarding anything involving people in general and the outside world, and immediately said, "No", and looked confused like the thought of it was totally foreign to her. Mine are all in houses 12-4. I don't know how common it is, but I have a similar arrangement. ------------------ "Most people would rather be sheep and have company than stand out on their own with antlers on." — Tori Amos IP: Logged |

Is her Sun in her 1st or 5th house?

Mine is in the 5th and maybe that's why I can be outgoing if I feel like socializing ------------------ Do you have some chocolate? IP: Logged |

Regarding the introverted versus extroverted, depends on what signs the planets and luminaries occupy. Even if the placements are in houses 7-12 but are in the signs Aries through Virgo, I'm wondering if that might make a person more introverted. And it's not a stereotype. Both my parents have the majority of their placements in lower half and are fairly introverted. A girl I used to work with has everything except her moon in the bottom half and describes herself as very introverted. There can be exceptions, but the pattern tends to be this way it seems. Anyways, back to the OP, without seeing your chart, I'm wondering if it's what's called a "locomotive formation." Having all of your placements in the bottom half wouldn't be out of the ordinary if your time-of-birth, and subsequently your rising sign, shifted the formation all to the bottom.IP: Logged |

Actually, what I'm thinking of is a bowl formation, not a locomotive formation.IP: Logged |

I don't know if this is co-incidental or if it bears any relation to synastry. My planets are mainly in 3rd and 4th but my boyfriend's are on the opposite side. I have a stellium in 3 whilst he has a stellium in 9. Aren't 3 and 9 complimentary? IP: Logged |

Nope, it's in the fourth house...Mercury in Cappy, too, so it's not her Mercury sign doing it either... quote: I have 9 planets in houses 7-12 & I'm not really extroverted...
All my planets (except Mars) are in the upper half of my chart too, and I'm actually socially phobic, and had selective mutism in high school. So much for the lower half = raging introvert, upper half = social butterfly concept. IP: Logged |

I already said there can be exceptions, and please, let's not go to extremes ("raging introvert," "social butterfly") with this. I have all but two planets in houses 7-12 and can now see myself as an extrovert, but I'm not exactly a "social butterfly." The pattern isn't dismissed that easily. IP: Logged |

Hello ScorpDon! Welcome to LL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natal_astrology Lower (northern) hemisphere The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th houses. A subject with most of his or her planets in this part of the chart will be sensitive to the moods and feelings of others, and may suffer a good deal as a result. The person may try to live though their family rather than for themselves, and may be too subjective in their thinking. They may also choose to do most of their thinking and working at home.

Without seeing the chart itself, it sounds like yours is in a "see-saw formation." IP: Logged |

She sounds great! I'm the same. Really extroverted, out going, social...and I only have S-turn in the Seventh, and Mars in the Twelfth for upper half placements! Hell, I even have Sun exactly on the IC, in Scorpio no less... Being around people cheers me up and gives me energy. IP: Logged |
