Singles looking to hook up with someone in 2013 might want to take a closer look at their zodiac sign.
A recent Match.com survey revealed people of different signs have distinct dating styles.

"Zodiac signs or horoscopes are to be used with caution," relationship insider Kimberly Moffit said Monday. "They're obviously just suggestions, and do it with a sense of fun instead of letting it determine who you're going to date. Love involves a little bit of work and a little bit of luck."

The poll of 1,054 Canadians, conducted in late August, showed more than one-third (36%) of Canadians will make a New Year's resolution to go on more dates in 2013.

The survey found 16% of Capricorns dated someone from their workplace within the last five years -- the highest of any sign. Pisces are most romantic of all, with 66% believing in love at first sight.

Taurus singles are shyest, with only 8% having asked someone out on a date in the past year. About 54% of daters born under the Gemini sign have had a long-distance relationship.

Moffit said while people should avoid using astrology as a key factor in picking mates, some survey results surprised her.

"I thought the Aquarius one -- how they're more likely to date someone 10 years their senior -- was funny," she said.

Cancers are noted to have "the talk" about breaking up sooner than later and 11% of those under the sign date two to three people at the same time.

Almost half (47%) of Virgos have used an online dating site. Libras like to drink alcohol on a first date; 63% of Scorpios love dogs; and 36% of Sagittarius suitors will discuss their dating life with friends and family.
"It's weird that Leos are the first people to update their relationship status on Facebook," Moffit said.
For those making 2013 dating resolutions, Moffit suggested putting yourself out there and setting goals and, more importantly, a concrete objective.

"It could be going on one date a week until you find someone or letting friends or family know you're looking for a date and you want them to set you up or going to more parties or being more social," she said.

Pisces so cute lol!

My grandma, a Scorpio fears the tiniest of fluff ball dogs coz it's still a dog! She is in the 33% I suppose.

It's true I don't think I asked anyone out the last year. I was asked out by a Leo and a libra. That's about it.

Its funny that I started a post on not being drawn to the sign that opposes my Ascendant, when it was just yesterday that a Libran confessed his feelings.

This Libran, however, has Jupiter in first and he reminds me so much of an idealistic Sag, it surely doesn't count. Right?

As a Sagittarian,I don't discuss my dating life with family or friends...but with strangers. Yikes!

But I don't trust dating sites, face to face is so much better and more spontaneous...

Here popular media goes again about Astrology WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS of it.

The Sun Sign (which the above articles exclusively refers to) is only a tiny part of Astrology.

In order to get an accurate compatbility reading, one would need to know both possible matches Moon Signs, the other plantery placements, houses, ascendant, and last but most importantly the aspects of both people's natal charts.

Without the above, an accurate match-up is vague at best.

There popular media go again about distorting Astrology and leading the masses to disregard this ancient art.

I understand what you're saying Pisces, but it's a survey. No one forced the people of varying signs to answer as they did. I'm sure there are observable differences when you survey the different Mercury signs, too. Doesn't discredit the fact that sun signs have observable differences too. It is what it is.

Although I agree with what you're saying, that's kind of the fun thing about astrology. People can treat it as frivolously or reverently as they want.

If someone tries to adhere to what they read in sun sign books (or surveys) only and gets annoyed that things aren't working out for them, chances are they need more than a sun sign book to help them. lol

lol I just think it's kinda funny/kinda cool that they even did a survey like this~ ^^;

I don't fall in with the Caps who have dated from their work environment... principles... business > pleasure ^^ probably why the percentage is so low, right?? (but Caps being boring, with stiff upper lips~ *snicker* we probably didn't have much to share with the researchers --- XD so they gave up and included this lil factoid) ~ <3

(of course we all know that they're not getting into the big picture with astrology, and how diverse our Sun signs are and how our charts factor in.... it's just a lil' survey~ no sense in picking it apart~ lol - right?)

But, anywho! I'd honestly, fall in with the Saggy crowd... (Sag dominant) --- lol I do like to discuss my dating life with my family and friends, nothing wrong with that.. XD well, keeping things discussed sensible, of course. ^^;

thanks for sharing Aquacheeka!!! <3

here's my chart acc. to planetary position charts in Linda Goodman's Relationship Signs
Sun-Virgo conjunct Mercury and Jupiter
Venus-Leo
Mars-Scorpio conjunct Pluto
Saturn-Aquarius
Uranus-Capricorn conjunct Neptune
Moon-Sagittarius
Ascendant-Sagittarius
In real life my character is based on fastidious Virgo. My emotions and my way of expression on Sagittarian truthfulness and
bluntness. My ability to reinvent and physique on a Scorpio. My delusions and erraticness based on surprising Capricornian capriciousness. You fill in the rest but never has one planet interfered with the working of another. The Sun's effect can never be diluted. It's the source of all life and is the second biggest after yet to be discovered Apollo in our solar system. So it is never small or tiny.
ELSE LINDA WOULD NOT HAVE BOTHERED TO WRITE A BOOK ON SUN SIGNS IGNORING THE REST PLANETS SO INDIFFERENTLY. What do you think? Btw what is a dominant? and are my venus and saturn afflicted? Any good books on astrology besides Linda Goodman's? or Richard Sterling's?

Humm..

I might go out with this player guy. I kinda like him so.. Its funny because he's been with so many girls and I never date anyone. So its like we're opposites. xD
Our composite looks horrible. According to sidereal he's a major virgo stellium with a mars libra, ascendant libra (28deg), mc leo and I'm ascendant taurus, mc capricorn around the cusp. Plus saturns there. I'm sad that the more Im like this with my player guy the less it is with like my astrologys...
I LOVED YOU ASTROLGOY
I REALLY DID
AND I WILL NEVER LOVE ANYTHING ELSE
like I loved you

Me, I want him to come into my backyard, on the trampoline at night time and do it with me. XD

Hows that for a scorpio moon vedic style. lmao
