I can only tell you my personal experiences with them romantically, not saying this is the case with all Scorpios...

I have dated three Scorpios and have worked with quite a few. It seems to me if they are really interested in you they go after you full force, they usually came after me which is different because I usually pursue. The ones with alot of Scorpio placements in their chart don't mess around, they want all or nothing. There is no in between for them, that concept just doesn't do it for them. In short some of them merge hard with their partners. They are intense people and they want the same from a partner, they want that passion in every aspect of the relationship. They seek out strong commitment with loyalty. If you show them in the beginning with a personality of a slapdash or outrageous flirt, then they won't take you seriously. Then there are certain Scorpios that like the game of manipulation and control with a partner (cue my Scorpio ex), and just to see how far they can toy with you. Those you should just avoid as they won't ever change.

My ex of 8 years had a ton of Scorpio placements and Mars conjunction Pluto in his natal chart, I honestly thought he was going to swallow me alive.

Water signs seem to do it alot when they get overwhelmed. I suggest dating a Scorpio rising or mars because they don't do disappearing acts. Scorpio moon swings both ways, but it just depends on the individual. Some disappear because they need to 'think' and need space, some do it to test you to see if you'll go semi psycho of them (to test your feelings, or how much control over you they have), some just do it because too much intensity 24/7 is draining.

Thanks to you two.
Libra, why did you separate? Seems like he was really into you.

The Scorpio in question has a cluster of planets on his Scorpio ASC - all in Scorpio if course - Scorpio Sun, conj. Pluto, conj Saturn, conj Mercury, all that conjunct his
Scorpio ASC within 0-2 degrees.

Libra, why did you separate? Seems like he was really into you.

The reason we separated was because he was too controlling and we would get into many fights over it, sometimes I would be home a few minutes late from work and he would question me where I was or who I was "doing". It just got old after awhile, there was one incident in the middle of the night where we were arguing pretty bad and he ended up throwing a new dress I bought out the window of our apartment, and then out of anger I grabbed some his stuff and tossed it out the front window... it was crazy, and the person that lived down below us shouted out at us if we didn't knock it off they were going to call the cops on us. Combined with the fact that most our clothing ended up on their front porch. We were either fighting or making love, that was the relationship most of the time.

Water is simply irrational. Not everything can be defined or put into reason. It's impulse, it's nature, but why don't they do the rational, reasonable thing and not obey their impulses and nature? Because that's what makes them a water sign.

Maybe he doesn't know it, but he wants to know if you can understand him or tolerate him. It's a test, but that doesn't mean he has to know he's administering it.

Libra,
how your synastry looks like? How did you aspect his Scorpio planets?
How did you manage to break the rwlationship? They usually dont take a rejection well.

We actually had some good synastry between us, some aspects...

Mars conjunction Venus(he was the Mars)
Venus conjunction Pluto(he was Venus)
Venus conjunction Neptune
Moon opposite Moon
Saturn opposite Sun
Saturn square Mars(this aspect is aweful)

His Sun was in my 5th house, and his Moon fell in my 7th house. My Venus fell in his 6th house.

And we also had a karmic aspect Saturn opposite Node in our synastry, which made me feel obligated to him, which in the end took its toll. It wasn't easy breaking it off with him, as he kept trying to come back to me, even though I told him several times it wasn't going to work anymore between us. Eventually I had to move along with changing my number and email.

Interesting. Miss Scorpio and I just started something. I agree with the full force thing. She made it happen. However, her chart is much more Sag than Scorpio. She's only got Sun and Uranus in Scorpio. She's got Venus, Neptune, and Merc Rx in Sag. When I call or text, she always calls or texts me back. We don't speak every day which is fine with me. We speak probably 2 or 3 times a week.

Gemini Sun
Libra Moon
Gemini Mercury
Cancer Venus
Virgo Mars
Virgo Asc

And yes, I'm a guy!

I haven't had this kind of thing happen with Scorpio. The one time I thought I'd met a sleazy Scorpio.. he turned out to be a Sagittarius (born on the cusp) LoL

Definitely not, in my experience. They're very emotional and intense.

I think it's a water sign thing like red says. Can't explain. I do it to everyone. Part of me simply does not care.

Scorpio Sun, Mars, and Pluto conjunct in the 8H

I do have a tendency to want to get away from someone I share a serious connection with. It's usually an insecure thing where I question if I'm good enough for that person. However I think I'm pretty blunt for Scorpio (Sag Mercury 9H square Jupiter Virgo). So it's not necessarily a disappearing act, but rather I let that person know that I need my space because I'm overwhelmed by the connection.

If he said "I need to give you some space"

What do you think, he would think, you thought?

I am a scorpio asc. with chart full of pisces and scorpio.I disappear quite often.Sometimes I feel really overwhelmed by all my intense feelings and disappear.I retreat into my own world, analyse things, change things, cut off people if I have to and then come out most of the time a different person.Scorpios dont lose interest so quickly, maybe he found something about you that he did not like, maybe he is facing problems.Did you ignore him just before he disappeared?maybe you did not do it deliberately but did he feel ignored by you?how was the communication between you just before he disappeared?and I dont really think he will come back, maybe he still loves you but scorpios rarely come back, there is no guarantee that what made him disappear wont repeat again.

I do not fear outward rejection. Mostly I don't experience it in a harsh manner anyway but I do fear real rejection when masks are removed. I suppose that contributes plus some of what anonymous said. Overwhelmed. Not like feeling out of control. Too intense.
