What does a Scorpio moon need to be emotionally balanced? Air moons use communication and rationalize their emotions. Virgo moons analyze their emotions, etc. but what about moon in Scorpio?
I've read about every article there is about Scorpio moons and my question never seems to get answered. Most articles just go on about how dark and brooding we are, but what does that help much?
I want to use my Scorpio moon to my advantage.

I have a Scorpio moon in the second house, trining my Venus and Mars.

The "Virgo Moon = analysis of emotions" thing is so stereotypical it almost hurts to read it over and over and over again. I'm a lunar Virgo and I could care less about analysing my emotions. But anyway, that's off topic, just caught my attention.

Scorpio Moons from a logical point of view would need intimacy, emotional crises and experiences that force them to transform themselves and become a "better" them. Anything that involves growth, depth and meaning, would appeal to them if they're evolving and not just wallowing in self-pity, self-loathing or resentement.

They crave intense emotional and physical experiences and that's why it'd be a good idea for them to find something "extreme" to do, like a dangerous type of sport, or stuff that makes them feel indispensable or crucial, somehow (emergency cases for ex).

That's my take on it.

Key words I think would be catharsis, regeneration and purification of the useless parts of oneself.

Your Moon is in the 2nd house, house of Taurus. So it's a bit paradoxical because on the one hand you need change and evolution but on the other hand you need stability and security.

Trines to Venus and Mars are very helpful though, you're probably charming and know how to assert yourself in personal relationships without being aggressive or ruthless (unless other factors in your chart point to such a tendency).

So yeah, find something bigger than yourself to devote yourself to. It can be a cause, a project, a hobby, whatever.. something that makes you feel important and like you're actually making a change. You can even start with yourself: try to become a better you by making changes in your life/mentality.

And don't forget to have an outlet for the emotional drama that you may or may not openly express. It may not be evident, but Scorpio anything usually needs to "fight" for something, and if there's nothing to fight for or about, it can manifest itself as resentment or irritability or even depression. So pick up that guitar or start writing a blog or something.

I was in a relationship with a Pisces moon. Astrology says that these are compatible moons, but from my experience was not a firm ground for growth.

Pisces moon allowed me to act out on my "intense" emotions to the point where they were uncontrollable and very irrational. Very destructive. Pisces moon was also my emotional punching bag. But after acting out on my emotions, I still felt empty, void, and just nasty for being so dramatic. My Capricorn sun was often disgusted with such irrational behavior.

Now I'm in a relationship with a Libra moon, a supposedly incompatible duo. Libra moon allows me to feel my emotions, acknowledge them, and then rationalize why I'm feeling the way I do, rather than acting out on them. The rationalization of Libra moon has also brought my retrograde Cancer Mars out of it's shell to release feelings and talk about them.

The only thing that my Scorpio moon doesn't agree with is the superficiality of the harmony seeking Libra moon. Libra moon seeks perfection while Scorpio moon seeks what's real.

This true. After intense emotional and dramatic fights with my boyfriend, I'm thrown into a transformation or change of some sort. But I don't wanna fight to breakthrough. Its too draining.

hmmm....
judging by your posts....i don't think this op is about what scorpio moons crave, but...that there is a part of you that is feeling emotionally unsatisfied in this relationship. methinks libra moon is not meeting your moony needs.

i think that a libra or any other air moon (aqua being the most compatible out of the three) will never satisfy that emotionality you are seeking.

i think you will always be seeking that extroverted emotionality, and that depth. and that drama, catharsis.
libra moon will not feed that at all.
another water moon will draw it out from you, but too much water, and there is a flood.
maybe a taurus moon or...a cap moon will suit you better.
or even, another scorpio moon.

Scorpio Moon's need constant transformation through emotional crisis to survive, and thrive. Without that, they will wilt, like a beautiful flower that is in desperate need for water..

if this is true, then maybe...this is beyond the scorpio moon placement. that is, it is not just about 'libra mooner being superficial' etc....and what scorpio mooners need.

this behavior is exactly like the unevolved scorpio mooners ive met, emotionally abusive toward others. hurting people so they can get their fill.
maybe, you have to look within you too, mature emotionally, etc...

And I agree with hikoro: an Air Moon could hardly satisfy a Scorpio Moon. Maybe other Water Moons but definitely not Scorpio. It's way too intense and Air Moons aren't that deep no matter what aspects they make.

But Air Moons can help the Scorpio Moon see the bigger picture and understand it's feelings in a rational, detached way. So there's always room for cooperation and mutual "help".

If the person has a strong Scorpio or Pluto placements, it can be mitigated.

And, goatcat, Pisces Moons are waaaaaay too "weak" for a Scorpio Moon *in general*. And by weak I mean they don't thrive on emotional crises like you do. They're usually afraid of confrontations and the scary, hurtful truth, whereas Scorp Moons are allll about the dirty stuff. So I can understand why it didn't work out.

I don't know others' definition of "emotional crisis" but mine is something like this:

When you provoke, voluntarily or not, an emotionally uncomfortable situation for both people in order to get something out if it.

And that something can be anything.. depending on where you're at.

Reassurance (if you are insecure), "thrill" (if you're an adrenalin junkie and like to feel emotionally charged), truth (to bring you and the other person closer), or just plain "liberation" = emotional catharsis, something deep inside you've been living with forever and that is now triggered by the other person, which forces you to express it so it can be freed in the open, and dealt with consciously (usually childhood wounds, core wounds related to parents, etc).

Since being with an Air moon, I've learned not to take difficult emotions in light situations so seriously.

And other Moons aren't really into that kind of thing, ya know. Especially not Air Moons, who like things to be smooth and harmonious (unless there's something else in their charts, yada yada).

I think a (hard aspect) Moon/Pluto person would be suitable, or another Scorpio Moon. Fire Moons, maybe, because they kinda like drama too; but they're not usually as deep as Water and get over stuff way too quickly for Scorp. Earth Moons can be beneficial, too, because they have that "stability" badge that's often very attractive to the explosive, intense Scorpio Moon.

I feel like that's so dangerous for other people involved!

Is there a way Scorpio moon can have an emotional crisis without others involved?

I have the "hard aspect" moon(Cap sq. Libra Pluto) I am super intense and will bulldoze over a "weaker" moon. Not proud of that.

I would love to channel my emotions into music or art or something instead of a person. I have a lot of water in my chart and I tend to live thru other people.

I tend to underestimate myself in creative pursuits and I'm very critical of myself. I'm not confident in my abilities. I think this is due to my earth placements in my ascendant and Sun.

the moon/pluto....i can see that one, but, from what ive seen, it can lead to far more violent expressions and not self-transformation.

very true about fire signs.
earth signs....not sure about virgo. very collected.
i think that taurus would be a better option. and, since op is a cap, and cappy mooners sometimes have this scorpionic-like qualities, that could work. but, cappy moon may be too controlled/inhibited for the scorpio moon, similar to virgos.
i vote for taurus moon.
if not, scorpio moon.

now cancer....hmmm? that could work, but, i think that the cancer mooner would end up just like the pisces mooner. not being able to respond to all of that scorpio moon.

goatcat,

of course there is a way for you to have an emotional crisis "alone". But it's not as beneficial, because there is no "witness", no one to talk to you, reassure you, or help you out. If you believe in God or a Higher Power, you can do it that way, "spiritually". Or with a professional, or with a verrrrry good, close friend who can tolerate your outbursts (but they usually happen because of a romantic partner so.. tricky).

Oh and I know it kind of sucks to know that so many people can't really get you, or dive that deep. But there are people out there who know what it's like, and who can relate. Those are the people you should gravitate towards, because they can understand you and make you feel 'validated', and vice versa.

Ah, you're a Fire void, too.
I know what it's like, I'd like to be creative and all but err just don't have the confidence or something.

Hang in there!

hikoro, yes! I agree with you on all points. Plutonian associations can easily turn to destruction.

Yes to the Cap and Virgo.. way too controlled, usually. Taurus sounds like a good deal cause it's the opposite Moon but again, can be too calm for the Scorpio.

Cancer is too gentle, but if they can handle the intensity, it could work.. maybe.
