It depends on the subject or context. If its a serious topic than i surely approach it seriously and words may be a bit delayed.
But sooner or later it must come out.

But I can talk about wabby dabby stuff or random too and be jovial.

Capricorn Mercury chooses words carefully, and I mean carefully. I'm always thinking of what to say while talking because people aren't patient enough to wait for me to get the thoughts together. So the words come out slowly. So it's not I'm trying to beat around the bush, I just have to wait for the right word to pop in my head. Faster Mercuries have no patience with me. As far as speaking morse code, I feel like I'm speaking normally until I have to translate what I said and people are like, "why didn't you just say that?"

Mercury in Capricorn attempts to be as straightforward as possible. There is a list of words and expressions which Capricorn Mercury has learned throughout its life. It must go through that long list and find the most appropriate combination of words and expressions to communicate its point (our mind is defined only by the data we have accumulated. Hence the Capricorn archetype's phrase "I Use"). The idea of this being annoying or offensive in some way is completely beyond me. If someone asks a question, don't they expect the person will do their best to convey their response? For Cap Mercury, thoroughness is the key to getting something communicated right the first time.

There is no way around this, Mercury in Cap (without some major air and fire boosts) must build what comes out of their mouth first. This makes us pretty crappy when put on the spot, but given time to process all of what goes in and comes out, we are actually spectacular communicators. Additionally, without water influences subversiveness, coyness, or communication games can fly right over our heads. When it comes to Cap it's all just bare bones, until we experience new ways to communicate.
