Remember that Aquas are opposite of Leos, and therefore share similarities. He could be playing hot and cold for the hell of it, but the good news is you definitely have his attention and cause enough of a reaction that he feels more than indifference towards you. The Aquarius I was really attracted to was really shy and actually quite easy to read once you realized how subtle he was. He had Mercury in Capricorn and I loved it 'cause we would banter back and forth with each other. He wasn't quick but he was sharp, if that makes sense. But his love life was a HOT MESS, and I was not about to vye for his attention for very long while he sat back like a lazy lion soaking it all up.

Well I'd prefer to be clubbed over the head and dragged to someone's cave.. as much as the next Aries! LOL

But - I do always pick up on subliminal signals, probably because of my Pisces influence.

Yeah, I have heard that about Aquas. Once they're off of you then you'll get a zero reaction out of them. They're done. I'm also surprised I get that much reaction out of the guy. However, he's very spoiled, which concerns me. It's easy for him to get what he wants. His love life hasn't exactly been stellar either, which also worries me. Sometimes Aquas can be a lot of trouble.

haha

But honestly - I don't feel such a pull. I like Aquarius men but I haven't had intense or heart wrenching experiences with them.

Okay, I'll try to help out on the Aqua thing. Im Sag Sun/Asc, Aries Moon, so I relate to Aries people well obviously.

Anyway, Aquas are obviously all very different based on their other planets. I've pretty much only dated Aquas, to be honest. I've found they're pretty nice to everyone, and they can definitely come off pretty detached, and they aren't as straightforward as fire guys. But when they like you, they tell you! Or, at least they try to spend time with you. Aquas are pretty independent and are said to be off in their own worlds most of the time, so the simple fact that he calls you and wants to see you is a pretty good indicator that he likes you.

I've dated many of them, and have long-term things with a couple of them, and they have all been different! Their Moon and Venus signs reveal a lot more about their love natures than their Suns do.

This guy is a Cap rising, Sag Moon and Aries Venus. Even with the Aries Venus, still not that straightforward. Top it all off, Mars Cancer. Definitely seems passive/aggressive. Very ambitious guy, too. Hate to say it, but I have caught a big whiff of immaturity from him, too. Still, he seems sweet, but not forgiving.

Interesting thread as usual, Hanna.

I am not sure how to answer the question yet, but I'll start with the 8th house thing. my 8th house is Cancer - I have come to the point where I can't stand Cancer placements (romantically) sadly. Water kills me. Now I won't discriminate if someone approached me with a Cancer Sun, Moon, Venus or Mars but I'll partially know what to expect... other aspects, chart patterns, and experiences pending. However, there was a time when Cancer Mars men were the only males I dealt with, and the fact that I still end up with men who have "stereotypical" Cancer qualities despite lacking Cancer in their chart. My 5th house is Aries. I do love Aries placements, that is more of a surefire attraction pointer.

As far as Aquarius men, sorry I'm gonna have to jump on the bandwagon and say they tend towards subtlety lol. Methinks it is because fixed signs in general are "magnetic" and draw people to them while cardinals are more willing to chase and prefer to approach those they are fond of. Cardinal signs usually aren't hot on someone approaching them. But one Aquarius guy straight up asked me out. Odd thing is I remember Pisces in his chart.

I'm not an honorary Aries but my Aries Moon wants what it wants, of course. There was a time in my life where I would mostly pursue and chase men I was interested in, but now I no longer do that. I have no issue with approaching and expressing interest but it is not an everyday thing and if I am unsure of the other person's interest, there is less of a likelihood of me doing anything.

Finally, addressing this topic which is about you, lovely Hanna, I think you are drawn more to fire placements in general, given your 7th house Sag (Or is it Gemini >.<?). Also is your 9th house Aquarius? That can be a secondary DSC, though it may not work for everyone. However, that's what I'm getting from you. Fire sign men have no issue letting a love interest know what's up...

I never knew that about the 9th house, LSC! I prefer Aquarians to Sags ANY day. Sags...I tend to fall for them very fast but they leave me angry, blood boiling, looking for war. I can say without a shadow of a doubt I've felt a stronger positivity towards Aquarius despite their subtlety which drives me nuts. I just trust them more and trust is huge for me.

Hi! I also have an Aries Sun and Mercury. I completely agree with you. I too find that other signs do not chase me, I usually do the chasing. I do not believe that anyone has ever chased after me, or if they did have interest, I most certainly didn't pick up on it. I've been told that I seem distant/have walls up (I don't see myself that way at all) and have always blamed my lack of attraction on my Capricorn Asc. In the case of Leos, Leo is in my 8th house and I have love/hate (or even just pure hate) relationships with them. Always lots of tension with the men, and short friendships with Leo women.

Well I’ve got Aries on the 5th house cusp and I’m super attracted to that sign (Aries Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and even Jupiter). More so then Cancer, which is the sign on my 8th house. However, I often have an attraction for guys with water Moons specifically… My Moon is in Cancer also in the 8th house (8th house ruler in the 8th)… Guys with Cancer or Scorpio Moons, especially when mixed with an Aries or Sagittarius Sun, are really attractive to me…. (Aries is the sign on my 5th, and I have Jupiter ruler of Sag in my 7th house, plus Mercury in Sag ruling my Gemini Dsc… So yeah, Aries and Sag are definite pulls for me).

In general the 5th 7th and 8th house are said to describe the qualities we are attracted to. These are the ‘love relationship’ houses. I believe this is true but there’s a catch… Different people are attuned to these houses in different ways.

Some people are more attracted to their 5th house.

Some people are more attracted to their 7th house.

Some people are more attracted to their 8th house.

Some people are drawn to a combination of all three of these houses (I’m like this).

And to make things even more complicated, there’s the ‘HOUSE CUSP Vs HOUSE RULER Vs PLANET’ dilemma…

Some people are more attracted to the sign on the cusp of a love relationship house.
(EXAMPLE: You’ve got Aries on the 5th house cusp ruled by Mars in Leo, and you’re more attracted to Aries then Leo.)

Some people are more attracted to the sign of the ruler of a love relationship house.
(EXAMPLE: You’ve got Gemini on the Dsc ruled by Mercury in Sagittarius and you’re more attracted to Sagittarius then Gemini.)

Some people are more attracted to the sign ruled by a planet in a love relationship house.
(EXAMPLE: You’ve got Libra on the cusp of the 8th house, with Pluto in Libra in the 8th house, and your more attracted to Scorpio then Libra.)

How people are going to attune to their unique 5th, 7th, 8th house pattern can be a bit unpredictable sometimes.

TO EVERYONE

I’ve learned some interesting extra details to do with attraction and astrology over the years. There are two little tricks that I use to gather more details on what people are attracted to (Apart from just the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses). If someone is confused by all the information offered by their 5th, 7th, or 8th houses, or are just not sure what to make of them, I highly recommend trying these techniques to see what you come up with. I find it really fun and interesting to use these methods.

They are as follows…

THE HOUSE RULED BY THE SIGN OF VENUS (FOR MEN) OR MARS (FOR WOMEN).

The first trick I use is the house of Venus for men, and the house of Mars for women. This is not the house that Venus or Mars are actually in, it’s a bit more abstract then this. It goes like this… Each sign is said to rule a house, Aries rules the 1st house, Taurus rules the 2nd house, Gemini rules the 3rd house, and so on. Well, if a man has Venus in Gemini, or a women has Mars in Gemini, then you look at the 3rd house for more details on your ideal masculine or feminine image. If you have Venus in Taurus (for men) or Mars in Taurus (for women), then check the 2nd house for extra details on what you find attractive about the opposite sex. Mars and Venus have a lot to do with what type of gender roles we find attractive.

(ATTENTION HANNARAMMAA!)
I’ll do an example using Hannaramaa’s chart (since she‘s the OP, and I remember her chart from other threads). Hannarammaa has Mars in Gemini, so we look at her 3rd house for more details on her image of the Ideal Man…. Hannarammaa has Gemini rising, with Leo on the 3rd house cusp…. So along with her Gemini Mars sign characteristics, Leo/ 3rd house characteristics would be appealing. And she is likely to attracted and be attracted by Leo guys.

The second trick I use is something called the SECONDARY DSC. Or…

THE HOUSE RULED BY THE SIGN ON THE DSC.

This uses a similar method to the Venus/Mars thing. For extra information on the type of partner you look for, check out the house ruled by the sign on your Dsc. For example, I’ve got a Gemini Dsc, Gemini rules the 3rd house, so the 3rd house will show extra detail about the type of partner I’m attracted to…. I’ve got Aquarius on the 3rd house cusp ruled by Uranus in Scorpio. It’s true. I find people with personal planets in Aquarius and Scorpio fascinating and I am intrigued by, and attracted to them.

I’ll use Hannarammaa’s chart again to give another example of this.

(ATTENTION HANNARAMMAA!)
Alright, Hannarammaa’s Dsc sign is Sagittarius, Sagittarius traditionally rules the 9th house (I think you can see where I’m going here). This means that the 9th house will show extra details about what Hannarammaa looks for in a partner. Hannarammaa has Aquarius on the 9th house cusp ruled by Uranus in Capricorn. This means that guys with Aquarius and Capricorn planets will attract her. And in Hannarammaa’s case this is doublely important because she also has Capricorn on the 8th house cusp, and Uranus in the 7th house.

FOR ANYONE STILL CONFUSED ABOUT LOCATING THE ‘SECONDARY DSC’…

Here’s a list of the house cusps to look to as an extension of your DSC for each rising sign. These house cusps are symbolically linked to the sign on your DSC… showing what other traits you are attracted to in others, apart from just what the DSC alone shows.

Aries rising, Libra DSC… The 7th House has double importance.

Taurus rising, Scorpio DSC… Look to the 8th House.

Gemini rising, Sagittarius DSC… Look to the 9th House

Cancer rising, Capricorn DSC… Look to the 10th House

Leo rising, Aquarius DSC… Look to the 11th House

Virgo rising, Pisces DSC… Look to the 12th House

Libra rising, Aries DSC… Look to the 1st House

Scorpio rising, Taurus DSC… Look to the 2nd House

Sagittarius rising, Gemini DSC… Look to the 3rd House

Capricorn rising, Cancer DSC… Look to the 4th House

Aquarius rising, Leo DSC… Look to the 5th House

Pisces rising, Virgo DSC… Look to the 6th House

Can you see the pattern now?

JUNO

And another thing. Lately I’ve been noticing that the asteroid Juno really does seem to say something about what we look for in a partner. The asteroid Juno is said to describe what we need and are attracted to in a spouse. Juno’s placement by sign, house, and aspect in our chart shows the type of qualities we need in a partner as a sort of bottom line. It’s often a deal-breaker for us, whether or not a romantic interest has the qualities of our Juno placements. Juno shows who we look for when it comes to serious relationships. If a person doesn’t relate to the qualities of our Juno sign, even if we find them very attractive, we may not consider them a serious long term possibility for us. Juno tells what we MUST HAVE in a partner for them to feel they are someone we want to commit to… Not just though the partner’s Sun sign! Any important part of the partner’s chart can relate to our Juno, either by the partner’s sign placements or through positive synastry involving Juno.

I’ve also noticed that if a partner’s placements don’t relate very well to our 7th house (the house of Marriage), then they often relate to our Juno placements. One famous example is Prince William and Catherine… His 7th house starts in late Gemini and contains the entire sign of Cancer, Catherine’s Cancer Moon falls into his 7th house. This is good. However, her Sun sign Capricorn doesn’t show anywhere in his attraction pattern (5th, 7th, or 8th houses), except that he has Juno in Capricorn. His 7th house is attracted to her Cancer Moon, and his Juno is attracted to her Capricorn Sun.

(HANNARAMAA!) I know that you have gone for a few guys with strong Leo placements, and yet Leo is not connected with your 5th, 7th, or 8th houses… However I do remember that you have Juno in Leo! This may explain the prominence of Leo influenced guys in your history. Also, Mars refers to our masculine ideals, and your Mars is in Gemini which rules the 3rd house… Leo is on your 3rd house. The sign Leo is connected to what you need for commitment and your masculine ideals… Your Mars in Gemini rules your Leo 3rd house.

HANNARAMMAA, I think I’ve mentioned this to you before, but here it is again in case you forgot.

Well, yeah. The 7th house can relate to partners in general... Marriage, friendship, and business. So your original 7th house, and your secondary 7th house, could tell a lot about who we attract in general. These are the people we're drawn to partner-up with in both platonic and non-platonic ways. Mars or Venus could also relate to men and women in our lives general, and not just in a 'sexy' way (both by sign, and the house that these signs rule). Same thing with the Sun and the Moon.

And lets not forget aspects! Trines and conjunctions to personal planets are amazing for friendship too. Sometimes these alone will attract people together.

For some reason that just clicked with me. Trines are good for attraction because those lend you the things you have in common with someone, no? But we need conjunctions, squares, and oppositions to actually sustain that relationship. Disagree or no?

Also this: This means that guys with Aquarius and Capricorn planets will attract her. And in Hannarammaa’s case this is doublely important because she also has Capricorn on the 8th house cusp, and Uranus in the 7th house. No doubt you're right on the money, but they are never attracted to me! I LOVE Aquarius/Capricorn or Capricorn/Scorpio people. Love them. Immediately and I want to crawl under their skin and stay there nice and cozy. However, it's rarely mutual. And if it is I have that pesky Neptune to muck it up. My point in saying that is to ask if there's a difference in what houses we look at to people who are attracted to US but we would not be attracted to them? Or if that is solely based on synastry.
