Another Neptune lover here Love how it sparks the imagination, let's the sun shine & gives you pink glasses for an enchanting ride. After that trip the mundane world does get a bit boring I suppose Luckily the Saturn bully will then step in...

I love Neptune too. I would be lying if I did not admit that. However, we have had a rocky relationship in the past. Nowadays it's mostly halycon filled. The best thing about Neptune imo is Halcyon Effect. It's a profound inner peace much like what the ocean experiences when it is as still as a pond, like right before Titanic hit the berg and sank. The sea is so calm, it becomes the sky. Due to the reflection on the water, you cannot tell where the sea ends and the sky begins. You must experience the fury to experience the calm. IP: Logged |

Well, Neptune may also add to the multiple sad aspects of my chart.... the Mars/Neptune opposition is pretty tense for me. I tend to not focus and go in circles and not finish tasks because I go off into Lalaland when it gets too challenging or when I am lazy. Saturn gives me sad vitality levels tooIP: Logged |

Neptune is wonderful....until you wake up But really, it can be oh so sweet, and oh so disappointing and painful. I actually "feel" Neptune the most in synastry with 12th house connections or hard Neptune aspects. It feels otherworldly.. perfect and enchanting, and at some point it becomes too unclear and scary and you're torn between wanting to stay and live out the fairytale or run away back to reality (which you can sense will soon catch up with you.. come on!)
Neptune hard aspects in synastry are the best and the worst, imo. The beginning is uncomparable.. everything is perfect. And then.. well then, reality kicks in and you're left crying on the floor - say hello to Saturn!
It's a matter of balance. Too much Neptune/unevolved Neptunian energy can be like hell disguised in glamour.
Higher vibrations are indeed wonderful - the calm, peaceful state of being.. just enjoying life on a spiritual level. Bliss.

I agree wit all of this as I have experienced this in synastry but I think the neptune aspects can also Indicate forgiveness and unconditional love once you've gone through the bliss stage and then the dilution stage. If it's a love meant to be, I feel the neptune can forgive and love unconditionally....learning to accept the quirks in the other person...which I think makes the heavy romantic aspect kick in even beyond the initial bliss. So I don't think neptune in synastry in bad. I also have it natally though.

I agree with Doux Reve, Neptune is nice, like a little vacation but eventually you have to get back to work. I like Neptunian energy in small doses. IP: Logged |

A badly aspected Neptune doesn't necessarily lead to addictions or drug use. I've got a badly aspected Neptune and I've never so much as tried a cigarette! I've been drunk a total of 4 times in my life: 21st b-day, 40th b-day, death of my mom, death of my dad. The first is practically a required rite of passage and the last 3 were the influence of my younger sister, NOT Neptune.Every planet has BOTH positive and negative manifestations no matter how they're aspected! Yes, even the so-called BENIFICs can be bad and the MALIFICs CAN BE GOOD. They get you off the well-padded back-side and get you moving so you don't waste your life. Saturn brings discipline, Mars brings courage, Uranus gets you out of a rut, Pluto can transform you, and Neptune can soften the hard edges of your reality enough for you to keep loving and forgiving people. yet people spend fortunes on high profile drugs in attempt to recreate Neptune's effect. Just let it loose for once and enjoy Neptune ride. Usually Nobody forgets whatever happened when Neptune was in charge. It was the best of time, it was the worst of time. IP: Logged |

I think if astrology has an archetype showing that things just are not the way they seem, that is just what we have to accept about neptune. It feels nice and soft and soothing - but it is just an illusion. I have saturn conjunct neptune square sun + mars + uranus in 12th. I am quite "otherwordly", I practice prana healing, and I confess that for me Neptune is very often some kind of relief. I know that in fondo I don't like to look sharply at the world as it is, so I love sometimes to escape into the softness of neptunes realms. I am quite romantic in my heart and I suspect that love's sweetness is but an illusion. Never mind, Neptune makes everything seem beautiful, perfect love as a dream, Neptune makes us hope and forgive, for some time we get the oscars in our life's movie. So isn't he also the big healer in all our life's struggles? How would we survive without Neptune's charms? Personally I don't think Neptune is good or bad, as Saturn, it is what it is, you pay your price, but Neptune's experiences are priceless to me. kama IP: Logged |

Transiting Neptune conjunct my natal Moon was by far the most "magical" and thoroughly deluded time in my life. Now, more than 6 years later when I look back on my behavior at the time, I turn red hot with embarrassment. However, when I was living in, I thought life couldn't have been more picture-esque. That is why I'm leary of Neptune! lol. Granted, I'm going through a Saturn transit right now so some magic would be welcomed... it sucks, but Saturn always teaches me a good, stern lesson without having to embarrass myself. So thus, my experience has taught me to be a little hesitant of the planet, although I do respect its majesty (as long as its nowhere near me!) IP: Logged |

My moon's at 20 Pisces, so it's going to be 2020 or so before transiting Neptune is conjunct it but it's good to have a heads up about that! It is transiting my Gemini Venus right now, and thanks to its retrograde cycle, will be for a while yet. I'm having quite a magical crush on a guy right now, but at least part of me is staying grounded, knowing it's too good to be real. I haven't done anything crazy-stupid yet, but trust me, I've daydreamed about doing a lot of crazy-stpid stuff over this guy!

thank you all so much for the replies! there's a lot of potent things here. i love neptune for its ability to heal and how it can be used as a catalyst for artistic endeavors. since neptune is generational, where are yalls placed? i'm of the capricorn stellium group, so saturn likes to keep a stern conjuncted eye on ours... i am curious though, when 'the fog clears' as we say, what exactly do we find that causes us to feel disillusioned? could someone tell me more about natal moon square neptune? please? i have met two people with this placement...they dont know each other at all, from different countries. the interesting thing is that they have the same 'theories' about x situation. it is pretty intriguing to see.... they are both very skeptical about how the situation is being portrayed in the media. they think that the reality is very different from what the media reports about the particular situation. i checked their charts and surprisingly, both have moon square neptune. one has moon in aries square neptune in capricorn. the other one has moon in pisces square neptune in saggitarius... im waiting to see how the situation develops. to see if whether they have a reason to be skeptical or, they just want to see what they want to see...and are fooling (illusion) themselves. i mean, are these people highly intuitive? or not? OOH! Excellent question! I suppose it's because the first "dreamy" impression shows what could be. The disillusion shows what is now. The transformation occurs when you are able to build a bridge from what is to what could be. In immaturity/youth people give up when they get the splash of reality and try to escape. More evolved/older people learn to build the bridges and regain the dream on a more concrete level. IP: Logged |

I am Pisces rising and I am not too fond of Neptune either. I think unless you're a movie star, an entertainer, a politician or a monk, what good is Neptune anyway? IP: Logged |

It's good for hiding in the house, watching movies, television, listening to the IPOD, reading fiction, cloud watching and creating art.
