State your reasons why

Follow up Q: does the placement and aspects of your sun and other planets in your chart relate to your description of yourself as a day or night person?

Also, which element in the chart does being a day or night person coincide?

I'm a night person, I have Sun trine my Uranus, if I had the chance to be nocturnal and maintain a normal life, I would take that because I think the nights are so beautiful and there's more ambiance

In what what does your being adaptable relate to being a day or a night person? Which are you between the two?

I love the dayyyy and the sunnnn and the fresh air. Mmph! I wish summer was here already. During the winter, I generally become a more night person. I like to wake up early and feel the early morning sun, but right now, we're experiencing a freak snow storm, and I just want to sleep,

Sun on the IC?

Mid morning kind of person. When I worked the second shift, it worked well for my inner clock. I'd go to work at 3PM and work till 10 PM. I'd come home, eat and stay up till 1 AM and go to bed and sleep till 930 - 10 AM.

I have no clue how this tied into my chart or what elements this is, but this is how my inner clock rolls.

So I would put a mix of both. I just hated working graveyard shifts because I really resented not going to bed at night. I did not like staying up till sun rise. My thought were, many years ago - if the sun is up, I'm up. If the sun is down, I'm down.

I love both equally, probably why I only sleep a few hours a night..er, morning

Day - I love the warmth, the light, and the way sunlight makes my eyes and hair sparkle
Night - I feel so drawn to the stars and always have. I used to lay out in the bed of my dad's truck when I was a kid and look up at the night sky for hours, just seeing what I could see.

Night person.

Scorpio ascendant, I’ve read that they love night. Another one could be my Sun in the 4th.

I have lot of water in my chart, is water a “night” element? I don’t know.

Both. I don't have a preference. What matters is my output, my productivity. The results. I can accomplish both during night or day.

winter born (winter sign dominant), night born, winter piggy (Chinese astrology). - night owl (and I despise the heat/bright light, fair/sensitive skin (Capricornus). I have energy to burn though... my wake hours extend both times, 20 hours is normal to me. I do like the twilight, but the loudness, and scents of the day are a nuisance. The cool, crisp air of night, or overcast, windy and rainy days are refreshing.

Yes, I'm definitely a night owl. lol I'm more likely to enjoy work, and be more productive between 20/8 hours... I can see various reasons and methods used to determine this in the different systems of astrology. But, simply... I've always heard it proposed that the hour we are born somehow reflects the hours of the day where we will be more active, or feel recharged. I suppose this could be seen as an affinity to that hour that connects to the inherent energy within a natal chart.

I'm mostly a night person, also I like the late afternoon into dusk especially.

I feel 12th house people are more inclined to enjoy or appreciate late afternoon to nighttime. I have Pluto in the 12th and it disposits 3 of my personal planets though not my Sun. I've always been nocturnal and I detest getting up early in the morning!

I used to be a night person but not so much anymore. Now I like the day better. Can't stay up late at night as easily as before, also.

Sunny days are wonderful, to me. I love how they're so beautiful and full of life and joy.

I don't know what would point to that astrologically. My Venus/Jupiter conjunction might have something to do with it.

My worst time is definitely early morning. I hate early morning, like around seven o'clock, with a passion! My fave times are evening and night, up until around three.

I like being awake all the time !

This Gemini-Sun and Sag-Rising finds life and people to be absolutely fascinating! Having to go to sleep is almost disappointing unless I am 'sleepy'-tired. Love waking up to a brand-new day!, with or after some coffee!

I have most of my classical planets above the horizon, in the Southern Hemisphere of the chart. The Sun had just set, so it sits just below the Descendant (Gemini). My Venus is in the 5th House, so that would make her the lady of a settled evening.

From dawn [ASC] through high-noon 12:00pm [MC] (SouthEast quadrant) I have two retrograde planets, Saturn-rx and Neptune-rx. I feel my energy is more reflecting and drawing inwards in the morning daytime hours. Excellent for me to journal, do house chores, taking classes where I need to focus, listen, research.

After Noon, is SouthWestern quadrant. I have Moon, Pluto, Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury, and SN. My energy convection seems to shift towards giving-out rather than receiving. People contacts, negotiations, telephone calls, busy outside-world work.

NorthWest quadrant (Desc to IC) has Sun and Venus. My normal productive time runs through maybe 8pm then stops.

After Midnight I am into the NorthEastern part (IC to ASC) of my natal chart. Chiron-rx, Ceres-rx, NN, PallasAthene-rx. I love the deepest hours of the night... After 1:00am the world begins to grow more still... peace atmosphere deepens. Innerself work, growing...

When I had a family and HAD to keep 'normal' hours... 3:00am through 5:00pm <<edit, ??? told you I was a workaholic!! s/b 5:00 A.M.!>> was the time my mind was sharpest and most clear. Math-brain worked!! Bookkeeping, balanced checkbook then-- (yeah, in the 'olden banking days')-- do bills.

The earliest A.M. hours were my favorite!! If there was something I needed to study that was hard or complicated, it was my best time.

Seems I turned into "a vegetable" after 7:00am through 10:00am, and 8:00pm through 11:00pm. (Good times for errands and cleaning in the morning, or watch favorite TV shows in the evening.)

I'm basically a workaholic.... In the years with children, I became a different kind of workaholic-- exhaustion, push, and insanity! Gave birth twice... Two years, two months apart, but within the same 20-minute time-span. (Both were Aries Asc, 3rd Decan).

When I had 'traditional 8am-5pm' job, my energy grew stronger as the day grew longer. 8-9:30am was always the toughest for me... afterwards I'd have to set an alarm to go off to tell me it was time to go home! (One boss used to beg me to go home... I was in my most productive time and didn't want to give it up! )

My Sun is considered 'unaspected' in traditional astrology. Minor aspects to Uranus and Neptune. Opposition -3a to Ascendant. Trine -5a to Midheaven.

Most aspected are Moon, Mercury, and Uranus.

(NOTE, If you see me making mistakes in my astrology work, PLEASE let me know, okay? I LOVE to learn, and it's important to me that my work or idea is correct...? THANKS!

Is relating my chart hemispheres and quadrant like this correct? (I was born at 828pm)

I’m quite new to western astrology. From what I've read, some of the interpretations describe that Capricorn influence/ 12th house often make a person a “night owl”. It isn’t true for me. I have 5 planets in the 12th house, 4 of which are Capricorn. I can stay up really late, but I rarely choose to do so coz I’m a bit afraid of the dark lol. I don’t necessarily prefer the day, I only love sunny days. Ugh, I don’t like the cold, the gloomy/grey winter skies +___+ I love tropical weather, hot summers and warm rain.

Thank you all for replying! It was fun reading all your answers!

I think what Saturnine really makes sense-- that where we are more likely to spend our waking energies in or be 'more active' is probably where the sun is in the chart. In addition, what Mirage said about the quadrants and horizons also makes sense, since it reflects the time of the day where the planets are positioned. If I'm not mistaken, the sun at the MC represents the highest point where the sun should be (noon) and the at the IC it is at its lowest (midnight).

To put it simply, if you have the sun in the 4th for example, you are more likely to be 'most energetic' during or around midnight.

Of course, other things also come into play like aspects to the sun and the placement of the other planets in the entire chart. I am aware that it will not be the same for everyone.

What are your thoughts about this guys?

P.S:

@mirage- wow, I am amazed at the energy store you have! What do you think reflects that in your chart?

I'm both. I have Venus in Leo, and I love the energy of daylight. The spirit, fire, and energy of the day. I feel like Superman sometimes needing the light and energy of the sun to feel revitalized. If I don't get enough sunlight energy, I swear I get physically ill.

I enjoy the calmness of night and the silence. I also enjoy the darkness and being able to visibly see the stars, other planets etc. The moon, what can I say, that bright gem in the sky. I'm a full moon baby, so I'm endlessly fascinated by the moon.

I'm a Libra, so I guess it relates to trying to find a balance between my love for both night and day. I guess being a day person coincides with Fire or Earth (nature, blooming flowers), being a night person could coincide with in my opinion either Water or Air. I'm Air/Fire dominant.

I'm a morning person no matter how tired I am. Although, I despise going to bed too late and not getting enough sleep because you can definitely see it in my face haha. A few moments in the sun will do the trick. The day time to me is like a playground and the ocean is my favorite place in the world. Add a sunset to the mixture and holy crap I'm melting into a pile of bliss. As for night, I love it when stars are visible and atop grassy hills/mountains with the city lights in a distance
