There doesn't have to be actual pluto contacts but it will feel like those aspects in a way.

My mars was in my exs 8th house. He would rip off my clothes and slam me on the bed. We also had venus conjunct mars and venus conjunct pluto.

my venus falls in my partner's 8th.

The relationship feels like there's a hard synastry aspect between venus and pluto. He's very insecure and suspicious, forever doubting me. His suspicion leads him to place restrictions and behave in a controlling manner. When confronted, he plays the blame game which again is very plutonic. Backed by irrational justification for his possessiveness and jealousy, he says he's right on his part. Another plutonic aspect is secrecy. Everything bad should be swept under the carpet. While i don't mind talking indepth about our sex life, he hates to. 'yes, we have sex. PERIOD!'. On a positive note, Despite a mars/saturn conjunction in composite, we have a very active sex life. As soon as we reach home, we hit the bed.

anything placed in 8th house especially in synastry is going to intensify the planets expression, so venus/mars is going to intensify their love/lust for someone. with such intense feelings no doubt jealousy is going to come up

i wonder how mercury and mars in 8th house synastry would affect someone....would merc person, how they talk turn other person on? lolol no but seriously...

Jupiter in a partner’s eighth house:

When your Jupiter is in your romantic partner’s eighth house, you feel drawn into a very deep personal relationship where you experience the desire to merge resources, talents, and energies. You can both benefit financially by living together. When your relationship partner’s Jupiter is in your eighth house, you will experience an intense personal bonding and will find it very hard to view yourself as separate from your relationship or your partner because of the material and emotional abundance you feel and achieve together.

I was just sitting here trying to think of the last time I interacted with someone whose ascendant fell in my eighth, then realized I haven't. Ever.

Another one I wonder about is if the other person's chart ruler lands in there. It seems to me like that should be significant but no one ever mentions it.

8th house always has an attraction/repulsion dynamic for me. Always.

Fascination and interest alternate with disgust and contempt.

It's a back and forth dynamic: at times I'm very attracted to them, at other times they make me sick.

The house person is the one who feels the effects more in most cases, and they're likely to feel powerless when it comes to the planet person. Like the planet person has the upper hand and it creates an unbalance: the house person feels the lack of power acutely and can act on it. More generally it all happens on an emotional/subconscious level, the planet person "activates" 8th house issues for the house person who is faced with fears of submission, loss of power, abuse and loss of control.

The only exception, IME, has been with the Moon in 8th = house person has the upper hand while the Moon person experiences the 8th house issues.

Hey Doux, so do you honk this would also be true is someone's ASC fell in their partners 8th house? Would the ASC have the same effect on the house person as a planet would or since the angle is so sensitive, would it be the other way around, like you describe in the case of a moon in the partner's 8th?

That's a tough question.
Mainly because everytime someone's ASC fell in my 8th house, I had my Moon falling in their 8th (four people I can think of).

With ASC I think the house person is the one who feels it more.

The ASC person activates the 8th house energy in the other person. It's like their personality, the way they relate and come across (ASC) directly hits sensitive points in the 8th house person, who associates the ASC with 8th house energy.

The ASC person may feel some similar vibes, also, but to a lesser extent, imo.

However nothing is set in stone, and many times the roles are reversed.
Usually it is said that the energy goes both ways, so that both people can feel it, but the intensity varies depending on other factors (natal charts, maybe?). General consensus has it that the house person is more affected, though.
