Do relationships started during Saturn retrograde last or no? If not, is it because one partner changes their outlook after Saturn goes direct? Especially if the partner's chart is saturn heavy?

Maybe it's just that the relationships lack staying power when started when Saturn is weakened?

Oh that's actually a very good point and that is what could lead to the falling apart of a relationship perhaps.

Retrogrades refine a planet's energy.

Explain please, refining like getting rid of the negatives?

I thought it brings up more negativity and causes one to take responsibility. In the case of Saturn retrograde for example...

It definitely weakens the energy, I don't think it refines it...

More like going over something to see what might have been overlooked. If it includes bringing up negativity, it's more for the purposes of ironing them out and learning from that negativity.

In the case of Saturn retrograde, it's reviewing lessons learned. So, in terms of a relationship and how long they last, I'd imagine that traditional astrology would say it wouldn't last long, but modern (and in my opinion, a combination of traditional and modern astrology) would say it very well could last long.

Sorry, but I have to disagree and say it does refine it. If someone is looking at retrogrades from a traditional astrology viewpoint, it probably comes across as weakening, but modern would disagree.

But then there is no actual point of agreement .... it just depends on which astrologer (traditional or modern) thinks what it would be according to each one's own theory. But where is there TRUTH?

I still disagree. It definitely does not refine it.
This is actually the FIRST time I have heard such a thing.
Read plenty of articles and books on the subject and feel that I know what the theme of Saturn Rx seems to be...
Not saying that you're wrong. Just stating my opinion

Yeah, in my chart, Saturn retrograde is a real pain in the a**. On another note, I do tend to have self discipline at times. Maybe it's just more inconsistent with the retrograde motion?

Well I don't have Saturn retrograde but I can concur with what you said.

Currently have progressed Sun, Venus, and Mars all in Capricorn.... so no one wonder I have been feeling Saturnian and feeling the effects of this retrograde pretty deeply in my psyche

I just have too many aspects to retrograde Saturn in my chart :/ Besides that, it's not particularly prominent or strong. It just makes too many aspects imo so it can be exasperating at times. I feel blocked and impeded at every turn, like fate is totally against me and wants to destroy me blah blah blah Saturn can be even more relentless and ponderous retrograde. It's good for writing though. Can get into that really obsessive vein of thought with it, so it isn't completely horrid, just a little. Maybe this is why it feels "refined?" Because of this ability to really go deep? It might be part of the Saturn retrograde experience?

Hey everyone:

Is it ok to go to the dentist during Saturn Retorgrade...?

Saturn does rule teeth and bones so I'm kind of cautious about that now that it is retrograde.

Is it ok to get dental work done during this period?

I had a friend who had severe dental problems from having gone to the dentist just when saturn turned retrograde a few months ago so now I am super worried...

From the article that was posted above, here are some interesting quotes:

“Saturn is in a fixed water sign Scorpio, and this can portend a time of self discovery, with more inner show downs during the retrograde period. Don’t forget that Scorpio is a sign of emotional courage — this bodes well for profound healing, facing what we’ve been too afraid to face.”

“And the influence of Saturn is not to be taken lightly! Not known as ‘Lord of Karma’ for nothing (!), Saturn ensures we all meet face to face the consequences of who we are and how we live, thereby remaining motivated to conduct ourselves in the best and most positive ways possible.”

I have been to the dentist since it went retrograde without any issues. Just had my teeth cleaned though. I don't put everything on hold just for Saturn. Whatever will be will be, sometimes

Hmm ok I see what you mean now. Saturn is both a good friend and a nuisance sometimes...

Right now, nuisance. I am trying to explain this latest round of chaos surrounding me by looking at transits. I am sure the explanation is there somewhere. Maybe it is Saturn being Saturn but probably more Uranus square Pluto like someone already mentioned in another thread.

Uranus square pluto is also a pain. I also hate mars square neptune - this was the worst for me, I am glad it is over.

ok...could someone enlighten me on this please?
since we're talking about saturn rx and relationships.

let's say, a couple broke up, things were not working out at all, horrible.
had been better it stayed that way...
and, then, they get back together during saturn in scorpio, the retrograde phase.
is saturn here supposed to strengthen things? or is there the possibility
that things will break up again after the saturn transit? (whether it is after saturn goes direct or when saturn moves to saggitarius?)

party a has saturn in scorpio retrograde
pary b has saturn in scorpio

thx

I get the feeling that if a "couple" gets together during Saturn retrograde, one of the partners will change their mind about the relationship and exit out once Saturn turns direct again. That is if one of the partners has an afflicted Saturn or is a Saturnistic individual.

Under what transit did they break up the first time, Hikoro?

Oddly, I find Saturn keeps me bound to people I feel lukewarm towards more than anything else. I can't bear the thought of living without them but have no idea why. Let's just say I feel no passion towards them yet so comfortable knowing I can talk to them. They are like the car I have my entire life not because I like it, just because I have had it a while...

This involves Saturn in synastry. Under a Saturn transit, maybe the synastry comes into play as well to determine the outcome? If there are Saturn contacts to personal planets or to Saturn, they could stick together and be sorta miserable, too.
