Leo, family, strangers, enemies. I can't see a Pisces defending anybody. They might beg the aggressor to stop but defend? No. Virgo, no. Sag, not any that I know. Cancer, yeah, but I can't see them fighting. They're never direct like that. Leo, Aqua, Aries.IP: Logged |

Scorp Aries Taurus ---leo also but only if it makes them look good, like they get to show off, otherwise they can be lazy about it and saggy will defend you, if they genuinely love you.IP: Logged |

Any sign can turn out to be someone who defends strangers, and any sign can be someone who needs to be defended from. It's even possible, perhaps likely, that most people of every sign are usually focused on themselves, but can be the champion of strangers on rare days and oppressor of strangers ("just because") on other rare days. That's generally how I see "average humanity." My Aries cousin will give his shirt off his back if he likes you (even if he just met you), but I attribute that to his Pisces moon (but woe to anyone who thinks they can boss him around or scam him, he'll kick your ass). I even knew a Capricorn sun who put out a lot of time and effort volunteering in his community and taking some risks in standing up to corrupt powers abusing their authority. Again, anyone can be a champion, just as anyone can be a villain. On the Libra side I can think of Eleanor Roosevelt for champion (who defied death threats by the Klan to help promote justice for minorities, and sometimes drove to areas with a gun in her lap "Just in case"), and oppressor Librans like Vladimir Putin. Gandhi and Crowley are Librans that make me think they were a bit of both (though they each had their leanings). I think the most amazing one I've personally met in that regard was a Libra sun, Pisces moon, but he tries to avoid people these days. I know of a Cancer sun male (I did his chart once which he said fit him, but I forget the particulars) who has a history of helping others, though he was not spineless given his work in the Army, and also later with the criminally insane...the most heartbreaking was when he tried to save an abused little girl in a class he was teaching at the time while the school faculty told him to stay out of it. The system dragged its feet of course, but let the father know he was now being investigated, and in his rage he killed the little girl which about shattered the Cancer man trying to help. Given how many people tried to stop him from helping and even hindering him from doing so, I'd say every other sign was probably represented in trying to prevent the little girl from being helped, while he drew on the strength of his cardinal sun to defy the rest to try to help. I used to be a lot more active in defending others, even physically, and even when it wasn't welcome. Perhaps the most dramatic was once when I went to investigate a shriek in the middle of the night in the nearby park with a gun in one hand and phone in the other--something I would not do today (though I'd call it in). One incident that amazed someone else was a neighbor I barely knew shared about hardships and wondered if worse came to worse if she could leave me her cat, and in secret (both to keep her from fearing a hidden price tag as well as to keep her from latching onto me as a sucker) I took a wheelbarrow of groceries with an emphasis on paper and cat products she couldn't get with her benefits along with $20 in an envelope, something that was an economic burden on me to do, and I'm just so glad a cop didn't stop me as he'd never believe I wasn't stealing all of it rather than secretly delivering it. (She knew it was me in large part because she hadn't told anyone else about her troubles, and that I did so while trying to be anonymous about it blew her mind.) But I don't do things like that today, not for the most part. I've made a conscious choice to suppress that part of myself for various reasons, though I suppose losing some of my youthful optimism and energy (not to mention less ability to heal and recover fast that the young enjoy when it comes to defending others physically, or even verbally which could escalate) also encourages me to mind me and mine more than the rest of the world. While I'm not one to say Scorpio is the most protective or humanitarian (not for a stranger, blood is a different matter, generally speaking), they do have their eagles and phoenixes. One eagle I knew was a coroner who was quick to point out anything wrong or unethical to the public and appropriate authorities, and thus served as a guardian if more in an avenger aspect (since she investigated corpses). She liked to help others as well when they needed help, both as an individual and as helping them navigate the system or reporting what was wrong to the correct authorities, or directing them to the right resources...but she wouldn't waste her time on those who refused to be helped or just wanted to feel sorry for themselves while never accepting their own role in their own problems. That is she didn't give handouts, but she'd give a hand up to someone wanting to get back on their own feet (emotionally, financially, spiritually, whatever). And that did enable her to help more people since she didn't waste time on those who couldn't (or refused to) be helped.I could mention another who was more at the Wolf level who showed both insight and compassion (though it wasn't easily seen in him, and others feared him for good reason--but then those were mainly the people who'd do you wrong if they didn't fear you, and confused fear with respect), but I don't feel like it. I'd have to count him as a protector, though. He was that way with me, and he never demanded anything in return from me. I guess it's just that while I don't agree that Scorpio is the most inherently protective of the zodiac (at least not when it comes to strangers), they're not all callous, either, and some do a lot of good for genuinely benevolent reasons. But then most who listed Scorpio did specify that it was for their family and associates. 'Course I can share of spiders and scorpions of Scorpio that stung everyone around them, no matter what, too, just as I can point out those who struck me as much more humanitarian than the norm for people in general. If I ever did start my own charity or help center, I know I'd want to be sure I had Scorpio and Capricorn on my team (though obviously I'd vet them first to make sure they're the higher vibration I'd want) as they'd be invaluable in keeping it on track, and doing the most good realistically while also fending off the scammers and time wasters. But again, I don't count Scorpio (or Capricorn) as the most likely to be a protector or helper of humanity, but the ones who are can be invaluable and especially effective. IP: Logged |

Scorpio can be so fixed and jealous that it has to protect, sometimes, but maybe it's not a natural inclination I don't know. If I think of stereotypical protection, I first think of Capricorn (in the sense of sheltering). I see Aries and Aqaurius more as defenders than protectors, Aries defending the immediate surroundings more, and Aquarius defending more ideologies or so. As protectors besides Capricorn I also see Cancer (who seeks to protect the immediate surroundings, family), and Libra. Libra thinks ahead and thus might understand better than many other signs, when someone/something needs to be protected.

Yep. A family friend is a Scorpio, and she was right there to help when my dad was in the hospital - both her and her mother, and nobody would dare get on her bad side where a loved one is concerned. I am protective of people in general, usually (Aries). I've been ashamed when I haven't spoken up about something, but wanted to. That has happened once or twice in recent years, but I usually do say something. Even if I'm not getting along with someone, I've noticed that instinct kicks in. IP: Logged |

Nope, sorry, there are plenty of Scorpios who are upset about life being unfair and try to actively do something about it. DesiringShadows, you must have met the other kind. Seriously. I'm with PixieJane. Scorpios come in many variations, and I'm sure much depends on their moon and mars signs.IP: Logged | |
