I wonder if it isn't psychological (not to be confused with psychiatric). I'm thinking of like how many exotic dancers will sneer at prostitutes, gay men will put down queens/flamers (though also bears for some reason), moderate racists will put down white supremacist groups (while the KKK does the same to Westboro), Baptists in my family put down floor writhing Pentecostals, and those with a lot of divorces and/or casual sex (including those who molest children) will put down gays as if gays were somehow worse (when gays are far better), I even read of a guy convicted of having sex with a stallion who was upset insisting it was a mare because even though he had sex with horses he wasn't gay, and so on, perhaps to feel better about themselves and/or to think they're well grounded after all when someone criticizes them.

That is in this case she no doubt has to put up with Christians always telling her being psychic is evil and of the devil, so to feel better about herself she puts down astrology and therefore feels better about being a practicing psychic.

Though another possibility occurs to me is that she's a con artist whose expertise is cold reading & people playing who never bothered to learn the details of astrology and fears you might notice some discrepancies if you get to know a lot more about it than she does or otherwise get contradictory insight to what she says and so is trying to keep that from happening.

The three Wise Men were astrologers so the Bible smiles on them.

Exactlyy! If only Christians opened up their minds to understand, that on the very first page of the Bible, in Genesis 1:14-16, it is stated that God Himself created The Sun, The Moon & The 12 Stars. Further details screenshoted from the ‘Notes’ in my iPhone:

I dont think she use astrology she is a Christian psychic...not that religion influences that .

Wow. Really? This is a pure unadulterated scare tactic.
And by you feeling bad was an indication of what she was saying being out of alignment with your own truth.

it depends as a tool for divination it goes against the bible, all forms of divination go against god biblically (so does going to see psychics funny enough)

check out the following chapters
leviticus 19
leviticus 20
deutoronomy 18
isaiah 8
2 kings 17
jeremiah 29
2 kings 21

biblically the future is supposed to be left up to god and faith

The Wise Men (otherwise known as Magi) were Astrologers. I think the Bible is against necromancy.

it is against necromancy yeah, but also divination in general

edit: saul's story illustrates how both displease god in 1 samuel the part about the witch of endor (cant type that without thinking of star wars) though other points in that book as well because saul seeks answers in ways that displease god

as a result him and his sons are killed and his army falls

what's interesting is it simultaneously states that both necromancy and divination can be done

Most religions are against the usage of astrology though.

But in a manner they'd be against the psychic too lol.

And I think they do have a point though, but well if you've jumped in, you might as well gather the oysters.

Religions are about CONTROL first and foremost... they don't want you to know your true essence and life plan (the natal chart is like a map and as a result stuff like the solar and lunar returns are maps of the year and month respectively rather than your overall character), because that would contradict the message they preach, that everyone is born a sinner and needs saving, and as a result could mean less tithe money.

Astrology is a lot less dangerous than a lot of ideas embraced by Evangelical Christians (many of them are the reason for the increase of racism and sexism the last few years, and are known for homophobia and embracing materialism and greed as well).

With that psychic, it sounds a bit like pot meets kettle. Astrology is bad, but being psychic is fine?

I keep running into religious stuff, and I've been trying to avoid going on a rant, as to why I don't believe in any of it.

Ideas like how a person with Nessus conjunct ASC is an abusive mofo is equally dumb, if not dangerous. Vedic is even worse when it comes to this shjyt, butches dont want me to meet a one eyed black dog on Mondays, what about that Dog's freedom to have the privilege of meeting me ??!! #Rantover

Yes. Don’t take advice from anyone who tries to scare you. It’s manipulation.

I went to a Vedic astrologer yesterday out of curiosity because I’ve been studying their system for months and this particular person was definitely trying to manipulate me. I called him out for it at the end, my whole body cramped up in his presence, like fight or flight. I felt called to mention in closing that his “power” was “aggressive”, and that I don’t give-in to fear. Doesn’t matter what the sutras demand, everyone has a say in their course with knowledge at hand.

Maybe this woman was just pointing out your capacity to be misled in general because of a whimsy toward spirit, what’s meant to be understood in this life. If this is the case of her instinct, not sharing that intuitive advice with you, about the pitfalls in believing whatever you read, says a lot about what she as a spiritual advisor isn’t offering.

Listen closely to what people say, it’s mostly unconscious projections. Like this guy yesterday said something about the Rahu dasha I’m in. He said “you shouldn’t be here to find answers, you should be out there giving to charity etc [as a remedy for what’s happening]”.

He said to me, “You should not be here blah blah”—red flag!

This guy also told me that people are highly envious of me and will try to take advantage of me my entire life, because of my connection to the divine, which I already am aware of from personal history and other spiritual channels (like my own higher self). He then “figured out” a current number of how many people by asking me to lift the first finger that came to mind, to which I blurted out under my breath unconsciously, “where does that include you?” lol but the way he delivered this “news” was not to guide me. He asked me, “What am I going to do about it?” Gross. He also said “theres so much more bad in your chart I didn’t even mention yet because Blah blah”. Lol! Thanks for your “help”, not.

Your take away from these kind of interactions with “spiritual advice” is sincerely analyze with yourself how did it sit with you. If you’re predisposed to manipulation, you might get swept away in the narrative utilized to address/control you.

I gauge people’s capacity to guide others based on their politeness (self-consciousness) when offering their own advice.

“Saturn/God (Father Time) sets the times; Astrologers and Prophets read the clock, call the hour, and sound the alarm.” Genesis 1:14-16 Analysis, screenshoted from the ‘Notes’ in my iPhone:
https://ibb.co/7bgXZ8S

BIBLICAL EVIDENCE:

Psalm 147:4: “HE determines the number of the (12) stars and calls them each by {Name}”

Isaiah 40:26 continues the story: “Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: WHO created all these? He who brings out (the stars) the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by Name. Because of HIS great power and mighty strength, not ONE of them is missing.”

Job 9:8-9: “He alone stretches out the heavens
and treads on the waves of the sea. HE is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades (The 7 heavenly bodies: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter & Saturn) and the constellations of the south.”

Revelation 12:1
“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman (Israel) clothed with the Sun and the Moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve Stars.” = The 12 Tribes of Israel.

Luke 21:23-27:
Yahusha (“Jesus”) Himself:
“there will be SIGNS in the Sun, Moon and Stars (...) for the (silent) (inanimate) powers OF the heavens will be shaken. At that time they will see The Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory. (...) So when you see the above take place, know that The Reign (return) Of (Yahuah) {“God”} is near” {Mark 13:23-30, Matthew 24:3, Luke 18:29-30}.
* Revelation 15-17: 7 angels, 7 last plagues, 7 bowls, 7 heads, 7 kings.
* The Sun, The Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter & Saturn are the 7 primary heavenly bodies in astrology. The most-powerful astrological aspect is “the conjunction”; so when He said “the powers OF the heavens will be shaken”, He meant that 4-7/7 planets will be agitated (through a quadruple, quintuple, sextuple or septuple conjunctions). He TELLS His 12 disciples that the coming of Age (His return to Earth in 80-82 years) will be foreshadowed through signs by certain alignment of planets.

Psalm 19:1-4:
“The HEAVENS declare the glory OF God;
    the SKIES proclaim the work of HIS hands. (Day after day) they pour forth speech;
    (night after night) they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them [silence].
Yet their voice goes out into ALL The Earth,
    And their words, to the ends of the world. {Romans 10:18}”
* “The first communication from God comes from His stars.”
* It is this "speech" and "knowledge" personified as a “voice” and “words” that experienced, educated, detailed, highly-reputable professional Vedic astrologers (“from all the Earth”) interpret when they “read” your natal chart. They read it along with the movement of the planets mathematically; in daily motion, in order to make an accurate prediction.

Divine ——> Divinity ——> Divination.

Yahuah (Father), Yahusha (The Son) & The Ruah ha’Qodesh (The Holy Spirit) are known as "The Divine", and "Divinity" means "the study of religion". These 2 words are found in the word “Divination”, which means "the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge" = Predictive Astrology. So we've got Divination ——> Divinity ——> Divine. Therefore, "the practice of attempting to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge" (Divination) is "the study of religion" (Divinity) with "The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit" (The Trinity of The Divine) as the source, thus matching Romans 1:20 & Psalm 19-1-4.

Romans 1:20:
”For since the creation of the world, Yahuah’s invisible qualities - HIS eternal power & divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
* Quote from Quora: “Divine started as a word meaning source of divination. Most of these superstitions came to be associated with religion. Every Biblical Prophet tried to foretell the future by calling on God. He would help them predict the future, so God became known as ‘The Divine’”

i'd argue some of those don't specifically refer to the art of divination only that god created the stars and they have meaning

that being said contradictions in the bible are nothing new, it's just a matter of cherry picking which verses you'd prefer to listen to when you find them

of course you'll choose the ones that best fit your own views and allow the practices you want to use

i'm not a follower of abrahamic faiths by any means personally, but where they're useful is where they line up with other various spiritual beliefs and ideas

the symbolism is much the same, but the framework is more limiting than it needs to be so following the faiths leads people somewhere but next to nowhere in terms of what a person can really gather branching off outside of that

it's the reason why an occult ritual can be done in a church because a good deal of it is interchangeable but a follower of those faiths would be held back from engaging in those rituals and limited in what they're allowed to express

broken down the bible is like most texts of its nature, when you know what you're looking for it's as useful of a tool/guide as anything else but when it's your only source material and youre taking too much of it to heart it becomes problematic

@kewf1988

a good example of religion as a means of control is one of the lines in romans about the government being ordained by god and how it should be obeyed, the roman empire's eventual use of christianity as a tool for control illustrates that well

The psychic was simply warning that "one should not venture into the realm of Uranus BEFORE the (protective) role of Saturn has been fully understood."

For example, until his/her child understands the dangers involved, the role of the (Saturn) parent is to externally define/impose the safety boundaries.

Hence, a toddler is ordered by the parent to "never cross a road without holding my hand". ... But, when the child understands how to cross a road safely, the parental instruction may become "never cross a road until it is safe to do so".

Somewhat rich of them, given that the new testament begins with 3 astrologers, effectively giving weight to the whole story.

How would she like to be told she should stop using tarot - given that her nose has gone well past « gateway » and is now well on the Way to rudeness

Consider her motives
Maybe you would frequent her more if you used Astro less?
She may be sowing seeds of doubt to create dependency on her. She has already opened up the gateway of doubt and hesitation. Anyone who makes you lose trust in your choices that are « good » for you needs to be investigated or ignored. Trust your instincts.

My family (mostly Southern Baptist) doesn't believe in demonic possession, but an uncle said that if he did then he'd think the Pentecostals were possessed given their thrashing about and "speaking in tongues."

the bible never comments on the state of their souls, it also features a witch who successfully performs necromancy for saul

also in the bible:

Isaiah 47:13-15 NIV. "All the counsel you have received has only worn you out. Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the flame… Each of them goes on in his error; there is not one that can save you."

1 Samuel 15:23 "Rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry."

Daniel 2:27-28:
27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these

the bible simultaneously says astrology works at points and also forbids using it in other places

it also says it's subject to human error because god alone holds all knowledge

pick and choose what you'd like but technically it implies that it can work but shouldnt be used by believers

Deuteronomy 18:10-14
10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God.14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
