broken down the bible is like most texts of its nature, when you know what you're looking for it's as useful of a tool/guide as anything else but when it's your only source material and youre taking too much of it to heart it becomes problematic

a good example of religion as a means of control is one of the lines in romans about the government being ordained by god and how it should be obeyed, the roman empire's eventual use of christianity as a tool for control illustrates that well

i'm not saying astrology is inaccurate (and the bible doesn't either) i'm saying it goes against god's will to use it

i practice the occult personally i don't believe in any abrahamic faiths but i find studying all religions useful as a result because they all contain some of the same basics

my only point was from a christian perspective there's a lot of issues with use of this sort of thing because it goes against god's will

so i understand why a christian would advise against astrology

like i said the bible says necromancy works but also advises against it, and acknowledges other gods by saying not to put any of them before god and showing a feast for tammuz in it etc and so on
