Would you attribute this to Venus/Neptune or Venus/Pluto?

It's more of a Venus/Pluto thing, in my experience (but it doesn't always play out that way, so it depends).

Venus/Saturn and Chiron contacts sometimes manifest that way, too.

Actually, maybe any affliction to Venus could lead to that..

Virgo anything can be quite perfectionistic and obsess over things being flawed, including one's appearance.

Yeah I might be pretty focused on appearance.

I have Venus conjunct Chiron, Vertex, and talent in my 8th house opposite Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus.

I think it's Venus Chiron/Venus Saturn like Doux said. My best friend has Venus/Saturn and is the same way. We also both have Moon/Pluto/Mercury fixed tsquares. (I also have one with my sun) Mercury and the Sun rule her and my sun signs, respectively.

Other Venus aspects: Venus semi-square Sun, Moon, and Mercury. Venus sesquiquadrate AC

I am assuming that you are referring to the beauty aspect of physical appearance?

Physical appearance is a Libran thing. To be well-received by others and to be liked, appreciated and “praised” by others is very much a Libran thing.

But this goes much further than physical looks because, unless the Sun is un-aspected or has aspects (conjunction, square or opposition) to Pluto or Mars, most Librans I have come to meet wear their looks like an accessory than a definition of what they are.

On average, the Libran personality is balanced and fair, well-rounded and complimentary to any company they keep (well at least on the surface). This is why most attract others so easily; they just seem so “nice”.

Obsession or pre-occupation, however, is more leaning towards Virgo: The attainment of an elusive standard is more of a Virgo-related trait.

Not to say that all Virgos are perfectionists, but-unless there is Neptune, Jupiter, Mars conjunction, square or opposition aspect to the Virgo concerned-there is a deliberate focus and particular method that one employs in conducting one’s personal affairs(image or work-related): There is a standard that must be met.

My guess is Sun/ Moon in Virgo, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Virgo can be obsessive placements.

It is up to the native concerned as to what area of life this perpetual obsession will play itself out: Whether the individual will project it out on to their social interactions (7th-11th) or internalize it on themselves (12th -6thhouse).

Thanks for the replies.

I don't have Venus/Saturn, Venus/Chiron aspects or anything Virgo.

I do have 10H Venus trine Neptune, opposite Pluto, conj. Madhatter, and conj. North Node Taurus.

I always make myself as pretty as I can whenever I go out. I revel in knowing that I was seen as being attractive. Some people think I am, but some don't. There are times when others make me feel like, "Hey, you're not as beautiful as you think you are. Get over it."
My self-esteem instantly goes down at that. Sometimes I'd just look at the mirror and say, "Okay, even if I'm not as beautiful as I think I am, at least I'm not ugly. I should be content with that."
err..but who am I convincing?lol. It makes me really sad. I always wish I was more beautiful...

I attracted men with similar aspects too like Venus/Mars, Venus/Pluto, and Venus/Neptune. And I'm glad coz these men are very attractive. I believe that I would marry an attractive man. Physical appearance, along with personality is part of the package. Even if a guy is rich, but he's unattractive then no, he doesn't have a chance.

Do you think I'm too shallow for being like this? :-/

I don't have any Libra planets btw. But I have Narcissus in Libra. :-/

Hmm I have venus sextile chiron.
I'm not obsessed, I'm okay with my flaws and I make whatever I have work and assentuate my attractive features, just like most people.
Do most people do that haha?

I think it's your 10th house Venus opposite Pluto. I read somewhere that Venus combined with Pluto can make someone obsessive (Pluto) about their appearance and attractiveness (Venus).
And here with Venus at the heighest point in the chart, it's only natural for you to want to be seen as beautiful and attractive.

I don't think it's shallow for you to want to be beautiful or to find a handsome partner. I mean, who'd want to be with someone they consider average or "ugly"? Personally, if I find someone attractive, it doesn't really matter if they're not that good-looking.
The most important thing is to like them just the way they are.

I'm not obsessed with my appearance. Obsession is a strong word.

I like to look good, I mean who DOESN'T like to look good? Whether the person likes wearing make up or not, looking good is basically what most women would want, right?

Venus trine neptune exact
venus conjunct mercury exact
venus conjunct saturn
venus in leo.

not quite. for people who are obsessed, and I consider myself a bit there - it gets tied to your self-esteem in a very real way. naturally most women want to look good, but for others it becomes the number one thing in life: spending more than average time on this and more than average energy, checking appearance more than most normally would, becoming 'sad' when something goes wrong with your appearance during the day... that is what takes it into a higher/obsessive level

^^ Yes THAT would be an obsession.

An obsession is a 24 hours preoccupation on a fixed thing. The person identifies with a certain image and doesn't want ANYTHING to happen to that image because THAT image is who they are. Any deviation from the image is an unwelcome intrusion.

I can have a mini obsession from time to time. That would be....FOOD..lol. Am an emotional eater..but am far far from being obsessed with my appearance.

I guess you could consider me obsessed with my appearance then from the post 2 above. My sun squares my AC by 1 minute. I always think that is very unique. My AC is also opposed my moon by 20 minutes. I basically have a Sun-Moon-AC exact t-square

Well, based on the women I know...NO. They don't do anything AT ALL to 'prettify' themselves. I can't believe there'd be women who wouldn't want to look good.

I hate to admit this but my flaws are what makes me insecure. I'm actually tired feeling 'self-conscious' coz of them.
Sure, I accentuate my best features and I'm happy whenever I'm receiving admiring looks. But still I'm not as confident as I want to be.

I think it's important to know that most people have flaws, and thats okay. Those who appear flawless are more likely to be surgically enhanced celebrities who are most likely dead inside and photoshop helps.
I've actually never met a person in real life who didn't have flaws and I live in california ahahha.

I think what is more attractive/sexy is how someone holds themselves.
Not the length of their nose or the size of your thighs.

I've dated people far far more attractive than me, and I think its because they were drawn to the way I hold myself. Im sure If I moved to LA i could hook up with all those sleazy hollywood types.
I think it's about being in control of yourself and not letting your appearance control you

Unless you're disfigured theres no reason to complain, I'm actually watching doctor phil special about a woman who was shot in the face. You should be blessed to even have a chin and a lower jaw. Just puts things in perspective

Yeah, I've read that too and apparently I'm 'more Venusian than Plutonian'. Until now I'm still figuring out how to balance this. Someone said to act like I have the conjunction. I was like, "Lol. How will I do that?" -_-
I've also read about Venus/Neptune having narcissistic preoccupation with their own image/appearance--which is true in my case obviously

Personally, I believe I can like and accept someone for what and who he is. I'm not all about appearance. I did say it's part of the package (who doesn't want to have a handsome partner?). But my friends make me like I'm shallow coz they think I'm making it a big BIG deal..like it's the only thing I'm looking for in a man.

So, it's confirmed. I'm obsessed.

My obsession even gets to a point where I'm fearing getting old..having wrinkles and all. I wish I wasn't like this. It's ridiculous.

I can be like this also, only not to that extreme. I think my Ascendent in Leo may have something to do with it. The way I portray myself to the public is important to me.

My sun is in Pisces.

I've always been obsessed with my appearance and any tiny thing that might be wrong with it lol. The placements I believe that cause this are:
Sun conjunct pluto in libra in the 6th house;
Venus in virgo square Neptune;
Chiron conjunct ascendant

I'm not sure it's call obscess or not , but I'd love to have myself well-finished every time I go out. During the day , I'll not obscess with the re-make up or fix myself . And I adore everything glamour /artistic surrounding me . One of my friends ,Libra AC but stellium Gemini , is like that too, we have the same taste . Most of my friends are heavy virgo , they tend to perfect every single details , I don't call them as an obcessive to the appearance but people with those placement ( virgo, libra, leo) have a high maintainance in life to appreciate it , not because they think they are beyond others but they find themself hard to appreciate a simple things which if they could , their life would be easier , happier( maybe?) , more relax ...
Libra Sun, leo venus , late virgo AC

Thanks, Kerosene. I need someone to tell me that.

I know how much confidence is important. I should be thankful with what I have. I am attractive. I know that. But I feel like I constantly need to be reassured that I am. I want other people to say that I am. If you know me, then you'd know how easy it is to offend or hurt me.

My confidence is extremely inconsistent. In other areas, my confidence is high. When it comes to my looks it's just very low. One negative comment on my looks and I'd be really hurt.
