then would you say it's a singleton?

Venus is the only non-afflicted planet in my chart.

My well-adjusted Venus thanks you for the compliment (while the other planets try to suffer the insult gracefully.)

Seriously, I wonder how professional/accomplished astrologers interpret a rare situation like that. Hmm...

I don't think so. It means it's probably a good planet for you to use, or provides some nice innate talents.

I had the same suspicion. But it seems no one cares about my Venus. Especially since it is conjunct Neptune.

I'm always like and people are always like "What's your deal??"

Most of your planets are afflicted, too? Let's start a support group!

I have read conflicting info on conjunctions being afflictions, especially since Neptune is an outer.

Any thoughts anyone?

This is a good question, I'm not sure either.
And what about inconjunctions?

OMG I LOVE YOU! This helps explain why!

Venus-Neptune twins!!

Though I think peachbeigeblue has a point, the Neptune conjunction hasn't been all sweetness and light. I've gotten burned pretty badly by not seeing people or situations clearly.

Inconjunct as in quincunx or semi-sextile?

If you mean semi-sextile then my Venus would be afflicted after all, since it forms a perfect semi-sextile with weirdo Uranus.

That would mean my Mercury is afflicted too By Mars.

Well, I think so at least. Maybe even all.
I need a new better chart, not a support group

Guys, is Sun conjunct Uranus an affliction? If yes, do we consider both planets afflicted or Sun only?

Quincunx.

It just means you have lots of energy. The squares and oppositions are where it's at.

It could seem like blocked energy, too. I have read both things, blocked and dynamic. Not sure which it is... Maybe your energy needs the right outlet to fully express itself otherwise it feels blocked?

Oh ps all my planets are afflicted except Jupiter in my 7th - which I barely feel bc it only has a quintiles and bi-quintiles and a semi-sextile to Chiron.

it's in detriment though - still afflicted?

Every single one of my planets has some sort of affliction. Even my ASC and NN... actually, my NN square my ASC..

Never really noticed that until now..dang.

Afflicted planets are the ones that receive hard aspects, including minor ones, I think (sesquisquare, quincunx).
But do afflictions from angles count, too?
I have Venus & Jupiter well-aspected but they square MC.. and Uranus & Neptune are quite well-aspected, but they make a sesquiquadrate to my ASC.
Other than that, my Mercury is not afflicted in any way (unless you think Mercury conjunct Sun is an affliction).

I don't think a planet's placement can make it afflicted (like you guys are asking about 12th house or in detriment - that's a no, imo).

I'm really, really not sure about the semi-sextile. I don't think it's an easy aspect.. but I wouldn't consider it an affliction, either.. hm.

Also, I wouldn't consider a conjunction with an outer planet an affliction, personally.

Affliction

An adverse aspect, or position, creating problems in the expression of the relevant energies. Aspects from malefics are almost always adverse, so the aspected planet is said to suffer affliction, or be afflicted, but benefics can also afflict if poorly placed in the chart. A planet can also be said to be afflicted if it is debilitated by chart position (for example if in fall or detriment, or by rulership of the unfortunate houses: 4th, 6th, 8th and 12th.).

A Glossary of Astrological Terms

I'm wondering what the value of the term "afflicted" is then? I thought afflicted just meant that two planets form a square or opposition. Simple geometry. To expand the definition to include other aspects or circumstances just seems to cloud the issue. I mean, for all I know, some of my planets are afflicted several times over, if house rulership and minor aspects count.

What can an astrologer say, looking at that, except "Oh no" in an even louder tone of voice? Or, "This planet isn't just afflicted it is super-afflicted." Or is there a point where they say it's flat-out cursed?

Oh, dang it, then I was wrong

Pretty safe to say that my whole chart is afflicted then, cause I have lots of planets in the 6th, and those that aren't, receive hard aspects anyway.. oops.

Meh, is it even that important to know if a planet is afflicted?
I mean, hard aspects point to difficulties but surely it's not all doom and gloom, right?
