You show them to the world, whether you like it or not. The same thing goes for the ASC as far as you can't hide it.The MC is more of your career or society face. I have Moon conj the MC( exact) and I show my heart in my career. It squares my ASC and it is harder for me to show my heart in my everyday life. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. I use wider ones, up to 8°, sometimes even 9° conjunctions are felt (though they're subtle).

I have Jupiter and Chiron conjunct the MC. Jupiter. Hmm. I've often been mistaken for a foreigner. It comes as a huge surprise to people who don't know me that I'm not. Security at the airport here always starts talking to me in English when I'm at the check-ins, even with my passport right under their nose. They only ask if I speak Dutch a lot later. As for Chiron, my pain and insecurity's public. There are times I think the only thing I'm ever good for is helping people. Even when I'm being private, something will happen from the outside that gets me where it hurts. It's like my reputation turns ugly no matter where I go. Lots of people I look up to and would have thought better of end up being nasty when it comes down to it. And yeah, I'm not exactly confident about my career. Lunae, thanks for the link! Very good article. Funny thing about the planets dominating the sign, I did go from studying Health Care (Cancer MC) to translator of a foreign language (Jupiter). Big Jupiter won it from the nurturing. IP: Logged |

Is 9-10 degrees too far for a major luminary to conjunct the MC? I've always been conflicted about this for myself. Like I could say I have my Moon 10 degrees conjunct my MC because everything fits with the definition of Moon con. MC in my life. But is the degree too wide? My Moon conjuncts Chiron in my 9th and is in Virgo. I'm interested in astrological healing, and being a reiki healer that travels across the USA and to other countries to help others in pain. I also want to do mission work as a Christian. I feel very connected to emotional healing which seems so Virgo Moon-MC to me. I like it. IP: Logged |

I would try to have a more positive view of Chiron on your MC? I don't have mine conjunct my MC but it's in my 9th and square my ASC/DES axis and I understand how it's so challenging on an angle, but I try to harness its healing energies for others and myself vs. letting other people hurt me or take advantage of my empathy like psychic vampires. I feel maybe like me, you are destined to become a healer of some kind - or make public something good and impacting about your past hurt and pain through books or art. I really hope one day you can find inner peace about your Chiron. IP: Logged |

Hi! Takes one to know one, right? Wow, you're so experienced with this. No, don't worry about what's worse for Chiron here, it still squares your axis and it's just tough. Destined? Maybe I am. I do end up in a lot of situations where I'm taking care of something or someone. It'd be okay if people returned the effort now and then, you know? I think you've said this to me in another Chiron thread and again, you're right, this placement makes you really vulnerable for being taken advantage of. Still haven't figured out how not to lose myself into other people's suffering. Good tip. Heh, I think I'm doing it sort of? Doing something public about it, I mean. I'm not as open in real life as I am on this board. Figured if people are going to find out anyway, I may just as well do it now - someone might relate. Glad you found your thing that works with Chiron, rather than against it. That conjunction to your Moon must've been one hell of a ride too to get where you're now. Thanks. <3 IP: Logged |

Chiron conj the MC seems to be one of the hardest positions after Chiron conj the ASC imo

My sun is 8° of my MC in house 10, but since it is also trining my Asc, for me it is not quite clear as to whether there's an effect or not.IP: Logged |

It's visible because the planet is angular (the planet is strong) - IC isn't hidden but private. MC planets show your standing in the society, the calling, what you give to the world = society, what you create..(MC is not job, that's H6) The society doesn't care about your heart on a sleeve. But it can care about the things you contribute with using that special insight, sensitivity - they can relate to you, you stir their unconscious, you make them feel safe. But, it's never about you (MC and Asc are in natural square). This is not to say your Moon is a separated part of you natal - it's just you're a symbol of sorts, a great projection sheet people refer to (if your MC themes are strong enough). MC Moon is in top 5 indicators of popularity. IP: Logged |

quote: Originally posted by MsPrism: Hey, great thread Lunae! Neptune conjuncts my MC from the 9th House side. Neptune conjunct MC by Sue Tompkins This is very true for me. I definitely used to idealize certain professions, not really understanding the hard work involved. Though my only interest was always helping people. I often feel like the world does need a savior but not just one person, we kind of all need to save each other (in my opinion.) The idea of work behind the scenes, helping people that are sort of forgotten, is the only job that seems worthwhile to me. I think what isn't explained here is the fact that I am literally LOST when out in public. I'm inside my head to the point of not paying attention to the road. I actually have to stop myself from thinking about anything that is important to me because I might put myself in danger by being so zoned out. I also seem to be able to take on the face of what the people around me want. If someone wants a certain attitude, it's like I'm feeling the attitude they are looking for and then I put that face on. Always to make them happy. Like the difference between looking at a cashier and thinking "She wants someone to pander to her hard work." or "He wants someone to have a big smile and just brighten up his day." There's this soaking up of the feelings around me when I'm in public. Basically an illusory person in public. One of my parents literally was a victim as a child, so I'm not sure if this is just in my mind. Though, I did seem to think my mother was too mean to my father, as a child. Once I grew up a bit, I realized the actual dynamics occurring.
I have Neptune conjunct Uranus in the 10th both conjunct my MC, so I definitely feel a lot of the same things you're talking about. It's a little different, but I think that's due to the Uranus influence. I think 10th house planets being the "public" face makes sense, since everyone seems to find me spacey and weird. IP: Logged |
