ok, so, this is my interpretation as to the most open-minded moons in men to the least open-minded.
sorry if the term 'open-minded' is not the correct one, i thought this was the most accurate terminology to use.
now, what i really mean is: guys who truly respect a woman that is intelligent, dont mind if she is confident, if she makes more money that he does, tomboyish, and he doesnt expect her to be obedient and submissive.

i dont know if it is the moon or mars that counts...but, im starting to think that it is the moon...
what other placements do you think is relevant?

very open-minded, dont care much for stereotypical gender roles:
libra moon
pisces moon
gemini moon

in the middle:
leo moon: this one depends, because the leo moon man wants to be king, so, he may expect a princess, on the other hand, if his woman happens to be a badass queen and makes him look good, he won't mind at all.
sagittarius: so, this sign is open to different cultures, and whatnot, but, i still find them traditional and wanting to be served and with certain entitlement issues.
scorpio: i dunno about this one, on one hand, can come across as controlling, on the other, there are scorpio mooners who adore a strong woman that will challenge him.
aquarius: i thought this one would be open, because i used to think aqua = uranus, but nope, aqua, like scorpio, is a fixed sign and sort of similar to scorpio, so, it can go both ways. ive seen aquas who are very proud of their independent partners, and others who are the complete opposite.

not open-minded:
aries moon
taurus moon
virgo moon
cancer moon
capricorn moon: i see capricorn moon at least, more respectful than the others. as in, you have your role and even if it is different than mine, i respect it.
ive found aries/taurus/virgo mooners as being very condescending...and always whining about how "good the old days were", aries and taurus being the most pushy and virgo tearing the woman's self-esteem into pieces.
cancer moon: employs manipulation to get the woman to obey.

what say you?

I'm not a man but my Libra Moon isn't hung up on gender roles/stereotypes either. Btw, you didn't mention Aqua Moons.

I like this topic because I've met many men like this and I am so happy with their behaviour and extra proud of them (just as a fellow homo sapien I feel proud that they are so genuine and open minded).

The most common placements I found... were:

Libra Sun -- I have lots of Libra male friends who are extra open-minded and definitely not sexist.
Gemini Sun - Again they are very open minded, laid back - they generally have female friends and get along as well with women as they do with men.

Gemini and Leo Mooners - again they are the most supportive male friends. My Sun is in Aries so that makes a positive aspect to their Moon. They usually like strong women and are egalitarian at heart.

Those who have Mercury/Jupiter and Mercury/Uranus aspects - again they can be friends with anyone of any gender.

Venus in positive aspect to Mars - This can be very important in having a good relationship with the opposite sex. The conjunction is included here. For instance I have known many Aries Venus men who were macho.. and rarely some Aries Mars who were co*cky... but when they have the Venus/Mars conjunction in Aries - you won't find a more pro-active male feminist (in a good way).

Often Scorpio placements (although not always the Sun in Scorpio)... but Scorpio Mercury, Venus and sometimes Mars - can all be very loving of strong women. The stronger you are - the more likely they are to get close to you and open up to you.

I'll think of others and come back!

For men who are sexist:

- Water Sun Signs - are very stuck on gender roles and appearing as macho as possible (including Pisces - often! - and sadly!)

- Aries Moon men and Taurus Moon men - exactly as you were saying - highly patronising and self-centred.

- Sagittarius/Taurus combinations (some actually remind me of Saddam Hussein - Taurus Sun/Sag Moon, even in appearance.. it's quite creepy)

- Most Aries/Taurus combinations as well.

quote:
aries and taurus being the most pushy

Yes! very pushy... OMG.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid lol
Never try to teach these guys better behaviour or get combative with them.
Being put in time-out is the only way they will learn (because they hate being ignored).

- Men with harsh Mars/Saturn or Mars/Pluto aspects

- Men with Aries planets that are debilitated... or retrograde.

You mentioned Virgo Moon as not being open-minded. I haven't had this experience with them.
I think Virgo anywhere in the chart is highly practical and focused on getting things done, making money etc.. I see no reason why they would have a problem with a strong woman.
If a Virgo-influenced man's wife earned more money than he does - he would be extremely happy about it imo

They are too cerebral to be sexist.
But as opposed to the others I mentioned - they are *quiet* being an earth sign... so they will not flaunt it.
Gemini/Libra/Leo-influence (sometimes Aries) - flaunt their egalitarianism.

Generally I have found Gemini moon, Pisces Moon and Libra Moon to be the most "open-minded" and comfortable about not defining gender roles.

Sagittarius Moon, Leo Moon and Capricorn Moon somewhere in the middle. They generally seem to have a certain regard for themselves but they can respect a person regardless of their gender if they know how to carry the role of there choosing.

The Most Traditional "old world" overbearing men I have come across had either a Aries Moon and Taurus Moon.

My husband has a Saggie Moon (conj Neptune in the 8th, opp Sun/Jupiter conj in the 2nd) and an Aries Mars/Venus conj (loosely trine his Moon, > than 10d) and is...an odd mix, really.

He's a very outspoken feminist in many respects, loves me (very much a tomboy & someone who he proudly asserts is more intelligent than him - I disagree), and has said on many occasions that he'd be a-ok with me being the breadwinner...
...but then has also been vocally in favor and supportive of me staying home with the children, opens doors for me, is extremely protective, and was a nervous wreck (with severe digestive issues) for the short time I was his "sugar Momma" during grad school.

That last bit may be his 2nd House placements and his Taurus Asc asserting themselves.

The most (to me) adorable manifestation of this tension was when we attended a conference together and he wanted to protect/defend me against some men who were being sexists (we work/ed in a primarily male field).

I'm a taurus moon and I unashamedly admit that I want a traditional woman but I'm not overbearing about it. A woman will either go for it or she wont and if she doesn't want that arrangement I'll point her to the door.

I have a stellium in gemini which includes the moon.

I'm not fond of gender roles because I don't identify with them.

If you want a man to take care of you I'll point you to AGs house lmfao.

Which is fair enough.

What I can't stand is these types who try to 'convert' you to be what they want you to be.

Oh God! that brings back eerie memories of a Pisces guy last year. He has his Mars conj Saturn on my Moon in Capricorn and he kept referring to me as his trophy wife :\

But honestly - Aqua you don't actually come across as so traditional, despite the Taurus Moon and all.. and despite your admittance to it lol

LMAO

You don't even have a problem with gay friends.. or with your gf having a career/job or being a strong person or being intelligent.

Your idea of the perfect woman is: good looking, loves me, doesn't cheat.

You don't have a list of "traditional" things you want in a girl, as the sexist guys I mentioned above - did.

overall, i find that earth mooners is the group where all the three signs tend to be traditional, and beyond sexism, looking at lgbtq+, they often do not comprehend transexuality, queer folks, etc. they may be fine with heteronormative gays (in a distant sort of way), but beyond that...it just doesnt compute.
