I agree with you, and maybe it could have been someone from her family. Actually the police had arrested her father, but relesed him due to lack of enough evidence.

She was too young to have a choice in all this. At least a grown up woman who has been a victim of abuse, has the option to decide if she wants to keep or doesnt want to keep her baby. She had no options, I mean I doubt she could even understand fully what was going on.
Too sad, I hope she lived and lives a peaceful life since then.

The wiki article said the child was raised as her brother and at some point she was told he is her son which is typical for back then. This happened long ago and at that time, much shame and disgrace existed regarding such matters. People didn't talk about them and hid them by lying and saying the childen really belonged to the mother when it was the daughters'.
