I think the 9th house is the house of personal beliefs so I would look at the 9th house and the planets in it, sign on the 9th house cusp, ruler of the 9th house and maybe Jupiter. I have Venus in 9th house, Aries on the cusp of the 9th house and Mars in 10th house (conjunct Eros, sextile Venus and Ascendant and opposite Uranus in the 4th). I am a Catholic but I am very interested in other religions. I even considered changing my religion. I am not an atheist.

Silver,

You have a stellium in the 3rd - naturally opposite the 9th house.. Maybe there's something to it.

I actually find Sag placements (other than the Sun for some reason) to be quite interested and respectful of religion.
Sag Moons especially are often religious people of some sort.

I personally am not an atheist.
I have Uranus and Neptune in the 9th.

I'm respectful of religions, I do not mock people beliefs. It's just that I can't connect to these beliefs a a person thus I'm not religious.

I'm an avid fan of ancient religions. I buy tons of books to study them, including the religion of the Native Indians, Paganism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, the Ancient Egyptian religion, Greek mythology...

It's Abrahamic religions ( Christianity, Islam and Judaism ) that I cannot stomach.

This is exactly how I am. I respect all religions and understand somewhat where they come from.
It's just those Gods do not belong to me.
I have a stellium in the 9th house, nothing in the 3rd house.
I tried once being a Christian, and it just wasn't me. I do not believe in a savior for the human race. It is not plausible in my mind.

I believe we are more than this life. I believe in multiple lives, in different life planets. But I do believe there is some form of God which is greater than us. But he isn't the normal kind per say. lol This is my spiritual nature.

But I am agnostic at some parts when it comes to "God". I just don't connect with this person, he doesn't feel real. If he is, then I guess I was wrong. I just believe we are all a big group of consciousness.

My 9th house Stellium involves an unsapected Jupiter. Mercury 30 minutes out of retrograde. And Neptune conjunct the MC by 2 degrees, all in Capricorn.

Ehhh...you're not atheists. An atheist is someone that doesn't buy anything spiritual. No God/gods, no souls, no energy, nothing beyond the physcial.

Saturn in the 9th can give birth to skeptics.

I have it and for the most part I am an agnostic bordering on atheist, although I have my spiritual outbursts now and again

Personally, I find the chart of a staunch atheist can be the same as a die hard religious person - it's about being firm in your conviction. But the chart of a skeptical person...probably Jupiter and Saturn.

About 80% of the people are atheists in the country i live in. I think it's more circumstantial if anything

Edit: then again, depends on the definition of atheist, i looked it up and it said '18% of the population believe there is a god'

I love atheist memes though! They're hilarious! I sometimes post them on my FB. I agree with them picking on Christianity, which to me is like the biggest prank in human history (and I was baptized as one!). I honestly don't understand how rational, level headed people could fall for that.

And then they wonder why they **** people off lol. (I'm not talking about this thread but rather what I saw in other forums)
But yeah, there are real critical thinkers of course, thought not all atheists are necessarily one. Some unfortunately are just too caught up in what they believe as well which is science. Not that it is bad of course (come on I'm posting with my mobile phone ), but it's bad if one discards the possibility of everything unless scientifically proved (I mean, one thing is not believe blindly, another is saying "God does not exist and believers are all delluded" when no one knows the universal truth).

All in all, beliefs and religion or the lack of it is not what makes us critical thinkers or not. It's rather if we question things, which includes both religion and science, as well as many other things, and not just be limited to these two realities/points of view.

I know. I generally don't have a problem with what anyone chooses to believe in either, as long as they keep it for themselves and don't try to stuff it down my throat, which happens frequently. Coming from a house of a religious fanatic, I have a low tolerance for it. It does get to me sometimes when I think religious freaks promote hate, racism, sexism and generally intolerance of anyone who doesn't agree with them. You could say that I am passionate about fighting against that (Pluto in the 9th, Libra on the 9H cusp, Neptune in 11th with Sag on 11H cusp). I identify first as a humanist, agnosticism comes way after that.

Yeah, I agree with you, I have Mars in the 9th house and when people promote hate or control over others as their beliefs are too strict an intolerant, I also begin to feel intolerant. Actually, I never really participated much in atheist VS theist debates, but I did disagree with theists when some of them disagree with gay marriage and other rights.

Thing is, people who are too caught up in their own beliefs seems to be unable to listen, or to not try to influence others to agree with tem, and that is scary. It often reminds me of one of those Stephen King's movies in which a group of people were stuck in a supermarket and there was a religious fantic there. When I see people like this, it makes me wonder, I don't want to be like them. I'm not perfect and I can be wrong in many things too, but I want to remind myself from time to time to not be like fanatics of any belief.

what if you are indifferent towards it? Not atheist or theist.

Anyways, it's kinda ironic that in such forums, things like that are discussed. I mean look around these topics asking for guidance.

>astrology
>discussion about religion
>lol

Why Sagittarius would be an atheist?

Although I would generally say that being religious or non-religious highly depends on the culture you were raised in I think these indicators would make a person have a lack of faith despite their upbringing.

  • Neptune that makes no aspects to personal planets
  • Jupiter that makes no aspects to personal planets
  • Heavy Saturn (especially with/or in aspect to Mercury)
  • Heavy Uranus (especially with/or in aspect to Mercury)
  • Heavy Mercury
  • Earth dominant (especially if Virgo)
  • Air dominant (especially if Gemini or Aquarius)
  • Few or no placements in Pisces
  • Heavy 2nd, 3rd and/or 6th House
  • Cusps of the 8th, 9th and/or 12th House in air or earth signs (or any sign that is not the element of the house)

I hope these sound right. There’s just hunches though.

Meyray, I think that’s just brilliant, it totally makes sense.

I am quite a sceptic myself, never sincerely believed in god, even as a child.
I have Virgo Mercury and Venus, both in trine with Saturn, Aquarius ASC, Uranus in hard aspects to Sun and Moon.

But I do have Neptune in aspect to Sun, Mercury, Mars and Moon in Sag, hence the interest in astrology and philosophy, I just have to find some higher meaning to life. It seems I’m constantly in a battle between total rationality and some form of spirituality, although I never go to extremes with neither of them.
