I like ninth house placements! I have Part of Fortune there. I wish I had sun. Moon is nice. I'd rather have 9th house moon than 8th.

9th house is supposedly good for anything, luminaries, planets, parts or nodes. The sun is supposed to be super strong and good when placed in 9. I like people who have their suns in my 9th. They fill me with optimism and happiness or I find them incredibly humorous or entertaining. I have positive opinions of them.

I also have my Chiron (in Gemini) in the 9th. I'm in the process of learning more about this as well.

So, you have moon and Chiron in the same house and sign? I have moon and Saturn in the same house and sign, too, just not the ninth house and not Gemini. I find Saturn colors the moon even though they are not conjunct, just being in the same sign. Does Chiron influence your moon? I am wondering if the ninth house helps Chiron as well, so it's not so difficult?

I'm new to Chiron. But after reading up a bit on it, I think I've overcome *most* of what my "wound" had inflicted on me. So yes, it's not horribly difficult, at least not anymore.

My Moon is in Cancer though, not in Gemini like my Chiron. Both my Mars & Neptune (in Capricorn) are the 3rd House though!

I have the same exact placement Cancer moon in 9th.

There must be a reason why Cancer is exalted on Jupiter. So in my opinion 9th house is best placement for this Moon.

Best Wishes,

Hmmmm.... I have moon in Gemini in the 9th.
Astro.com says Conjunct MC but it's pretty wide.

Funny, I couldn't tell you a stinkin' thing about how the 9th affects it. I'll have to look around and see if I relate to some descriptions. LOL
I DON'T EVEN KNOW MYSELF!!!!!! AHHHHHHH
That wasn't even capslock... that was shift key mf. That's how upset I am.

Okay,

Very quick, I found this description.
I have to say, it fits! It fits very well. Scary accurate for myself at least. Plus I have Gemini moon which kind of amplifies parts of this. LOL
How about you other 9th housers?

"This is a position that can indicate a deep longing for stimulation above and beyond the everyday, mundane routine. You are a philosophical sort, interested and curious about the world, other people, and perhaps different cultures. You can be extremely restless and discontented if you don't have a definite goal in mind. You might find yourself longing to be somewhere else when you are unhappy, imagining that if you were to move or travel, you would be much happier. However, this attitude can only keep you from enjoying and improving upon the situation you are now in, only serving to make you feel more unhappy in the present and with your current circumstances. Trying to avoid the attitude that "the grass is greener on the other side" will be important, while attending to your needs to get away from time to time will help scratch the seemingly incurable itch for something more.

*You may have done extensive traveling in your early years, or in some way had a background which enables you to understand and identify with many different types of people or cultures.

You have a craving for things which are far away and foreign or for things you have never experienced before. You want to completely immerse yourself in the feelings and tastes of a new place, rather than simply have facts or an intellectual appreciation. Emotionally, too, you are restless and something of a wanderer."

Some of my greatest friends are from other countries. I haven't done much traveling though.

Spot on for me. Love to travel, learning about new cultures,my boyfriend and 2 best friends are from different countries.

So I've always read that having a planet in a house revels your attitude towards matters of that house. But does this mean that having the moon (or any other planet for that matter) in the 9th house gives the Moon a saggitarian color?

I have a 9H pMoon and a natal Chiron, Jupiter and SN. I love other cultures and abhor my own. I love to travel in all meanings of the word; mentally and physically. I have also almost exclusively dated foreigners. Downside is that I have "itchy feet"...you can't pin me down to one location for long because I'll panic. I also know a lot about everything without wanting to commit to one subject or hobby.

So lovely to find another 9th House Moon! I so seldom come across them, they're always a lovely find. I'll share my experience:

My mother is a very spiritual, optimistic person. She always encouraged my brother and myself to get acquainted with our emotions and know them for what they are - to not view them as detrimental, but assets with which we could progress in our spiritual development. She has always been very emotionally poised and wholesome. My mother's parents are from Spain and naturally very piously Catholic (my grandmother was going to become a nun). My mom grew up in the US, Japan and Germany and speaks 4 languages. She is indeed a Sagittarius, which is the 9th House incarnate.

In my experience, the Moon in the 9th House almost always points to a mother who has a connection to a culture different from that which the chart native is born; she also almost always has a strong religious connection in her family, although she herself may not be so rigid in her views; she is also almost always very spiritual and well-traveled and cultured. A 9th House mother is also very permissive in terms of the freedom she allows her kids; my mother was always very involved but gave both my brother and myself room to roam, grow, and make our own mistakes.

Naturally, I inherited my love of languages, spirituality, cultures, and traveling from my mother. I am also very emotionally rational; ie: when a calamity befalls me, my reaction is to rationalize and know that it all fits into the "grand scheme" of things somehow, as opposed to getting bogged down in the irrational world of emotions. Which is not to say I evade emotions altogether, I actually work with them. Sounds totally 9th House "higher mind" to me.

What has your experience been? Please share!

I love learning about other cultures!
I have several friends from other backgrounds.
I am attracted to people from other backgrounds and races. I get this strong urge to just get to know them.

As for the other post about the mother.
Hmmmm...
I had a lot of freedom but my mom was born and grew up near where I was. She did try to teach us about emotions but she is a triple Aries. So, she'd go off on people sometimes. LOL
No one in my family or extended family is really spiritual.
I guess my great-grandparents on my mothers side came from overseas and spoke another language.

Are you attracted to people from a differing background than your own?

Does you partner work in a field that involves lots of travelling?

Are you attracted to partners that are considerably taller than you?

There are so many interpretations of the Moon in 9th. But mostly they speak of the partner and whom you are likely to be drawn to and feel "at home" with.

I know a lot of people equate this to Venus and the 7th. But the Moon, in my opinion, is a strong indicator of what kind of partner you are attracted to or what kind of person you'll marry(their personality, their background, their occupation etc).

Xerxes,

That was very well stated! That description of your Mother was very *fitting* for me. I'm indeed very spiritual, optimistic & cultured. I'm glad you're a fan of us 9th HMers!

Zander,

Thanks for posting! I have read that description you posted before & it's about 90% true about me.

I have this, too. My is conjunct the MC--exact. I show my heart to the world.

Moon in the 9th wants to find God and the purpose for their existence.

They are not content to go through the motions of life. They want to know WHY.

Does this fit for you?

Yes, I do enjoy learning about other cultures. But also about my own roots, history & ancestry. Really appeals to me! I have friends of other races & I love being really open with all of them about everything -- let's LEARN from each other, I say! I've never dated a foreigner...I would, but he'd have to be somewhat Americanized.

1 - Yes, I'm attracted to men of other cultures, but not strictly. I'm an equal opportunist.

2 - I'm single at the moment. But long-distance relationships aren't my thing.

3 - Yes, I love men that are taller than me.

SPOT ON!
