Topic: Do you behave differently on this site than in real life?

I find that, more often than not, people are willing to say things that they wouldn't normally say if they can remain relatively anonymous online.I am like that on here. Normally I am pretty reserved about disclosing my personal "stuff" with people I don't know well (and even those I do know well), but with the relative anonymity I have here, I tend to just blurt out personal info that I would normally keep to myself. How about the rest of you? Do you maintain your normal level of privacy on here, or do you tend to open up more, or less? I find that I open up more about things that don't cause me pain on here, but remain quiet about personally sensitive topics. I'm not sure what placements would be responsible for this, but I think that my Leo AC likes to talk about myself, and Aquarius Mercury is chatty. I'm rather isolated where I live currently, so there aren't a lot of people I choose to open up to on a personal level. (Saturn in 11th, I guess.) Yeah, I don't know...sometimes I get the feeling that there are people I can joke around with on here who will get my sense of humor, and others not so much. But without knowing people on a personal level, it's hard to know what things are okay to joke around about and what aren't, for each person. I find that I sometimes have an entirely different personality on here than in face-to-face interactions. I still like to talk about myself (effing Leo AC), but in real life I talk about much more mundane things. I suppose that if people have been on here interacting with one another for a year or so, they probably feel as though they know each other somewhat. IP: Logged |

Of course it's the internet.
In real life I'm gentle, laid back, and really private. I think my wicked saturn conjunct mc is more apparent on the internet haha IP: Logged |

Probably worst..I think I'm more blunt in real life. Lol, I think I'm actually nicer online (not just on the site) because no one is really bothering me - and if they are I just ignore them, or block them

Aw...I'm sorry if people have been rude to you. I experience that more on other sites than I do on here. I find people annoying at times, and I'm sure vice versa, but no big blowouts or anyone being terribly hurtful to me thus far, and I don't think that I'm rude to others. I've met some seriously rude people on other sites (I mean...like WTF?! type of rude). So I stick with this one, even if there's a bit of dramarama that takes place.  IP: Logged |

Haha. Yes, that's true. I'm glad no one has called me out on the very few occasions that I think I've been mildly passive-aggressive (but primarily for the sake of avoiding drama).
Generally, I try to be as polite as possible.
Another case of how I am different on here than in real life, hahaha. Sometimes not as easy to be polite when someone annoys you face-to-face...I try, I try...

Im straight and have always been. Im the same here and in the real life.. but I get an different response in the real life. Absolutly. Big difference. In real life, I feel me loved by the people around.....the written word shows no shades as an individual in life makes. I agree. It's very easy to tell when I'm being sarcastic or joking in face-to-face conversations, but it's difficult to convey a "tone" or facial expression on here, of course. I do, however, disclose waaayyy more personal information on here than I do in real life. No one here knows me personally (that I'm aware of), so there's a safety net...and simultaneously a bit more caution required. or not.

I feel the same way. I act exactly the same. irl, everyone thinks I'm funny, "bubbly", "delight to be around", smart. And I feel important. Forums - not so much. I feel like an outcast to the point where I will delete what I type with the thought that nobody cares anyway or it's dumb xD. Nah, I can totally relate to that. I go ahead and post anyway, because...well, no one knows me on here, haha. And I don't find so much rudeness on here as I do on other forums. FaceBook is fine for social media for me, because I know most of the people that I'm communicating with. But I'm significantly more guarded with what I talk about there, too.

Oh I'm not worried about it. It's people on a forum. I did get worked up once but now I see it as pointless. How important can anyone here be on my life or anyone else's?
If someone doesn't like another or thinks that they are stupid or say stupid things, what's it really matter? Are we friends? Do we work together? Are we old buddies from school or something? No we're all strangers. Who cares? LOL I didn't mean what I said as if I'm bothered.
It's just a fact of forums, period. I know myself and one of you have had a few negative exchanges but now I see the reality. Who cares?
The impact on my life is minimal if anyone here likes me or not. I still have my real life friends, my family, my job, etc.

Just today one of three young women who live across the hall who I've never met. She came home as I was leaving. I was locking my door. She said hello. I said hello but never even turned around. LOL
