Recently, I have discovered the whole Saturn in synastry and how it is needed to make a relationship work. But, once the relationship has ended, does that feeling of being bound to one another ever stop? Even though, I have moved forward and my ex has moved forward, I still feel we both seek each other out - for no other reason than to just simply see one another. But honestly, we aren't on good terms and he's in a relationship, so I don't understand what's going on! If anyone can help shed some light on these aspects, that would be very helpful!

Sun Square Saturn
Venus Sextile Saturn
Jupiter Sextile Saturn
Saturn Conjunct Moon
Saturn Sextile Saturn
Saturn Conjunct Pluto
Uranus Trine Saturn
Pluto Square Saturn

There are some others in Pallas, Ceres, Vesta and Lilith, but I didn't know if these were as significant.

yes, it stops. imo, Saturn holds the relationship together while you are together. I don't consider Saturn a transformative, forever bond, but a relationship bond that acts as glue during the relationship itself. if you're still feeling connected somehow it's likely some other synastry factor, imo, or just denial that you need to move on :-)

I live it too and think Saturn bonds even when no more together. I read some past threads and saw other people in the same situation. But I think Saturn alone maybe don't do this, but as often it's linked with other aspects I think it acts like a permanent glue,at least I feel this way and think I'll feel it forever, the connection (no drama here,I already moved, but only a statement).

Just to clarify, I really have moved forward but I've just noticed there's still a weird pull to this person. I don't act on it anymore, as I used to! Just beyond me how I still feel this pull towards him when I don't even want him back romantically. He's still trying to show up to places he knows I'll be, acting very territorial - a lot of weird strangeness still going on. I wasn't sure if this was Saturn related or some other aspect. I'm sorry you're still dealing with this too, Dialecticlady. It's a very strange, confusing feeling! Starmoon, thank you for the encouragement!

Linda Goodman says in Relationship Signs that sun square Saturn is about as binding an aspect as you can get.

I don't have my book here, but she says something like, "You may not always get along, but oh well, you are stuck with each other forever, so try and make the best of it." Which sounds a little like what you describe.

Best wishes to you.

Wow, I've got this with the guy I'm seeing in the moment:O
It's the nicest synastry in ages, but with some challenges too like this sun square saturn, sun square neptune and venus square saturn and venus square uranus:S some insight in how this plays together? Maybe we should just go for friendship instead:P

could it just be you're not far enough out from the end of the relationship yet? as time moves on most everything diminishes

How binding would be a synastry chart with a Sun-Saturn Square
Saturn-SN conjunct DW
and Saturn-Mars conjunct DW?

That's definitely possible! But, I have to admit, I'm relieved to understand why things have been so strange and unrelenting between us. Gives me some closure! Hopefully he'll really give me the space to fully heal.

Oh, thanks kennedy80 But I moved completely too...what I said is that I feel "energetically" linked with the person, it's difficult to explain, like a feeling he always will be with me in someway, I'll always remember him.I don't suffer with it anymore, but it's like a scar, don't go away.

It goes away with time apart from that person (so you'd have to be strong and ignore him for a bit). I know what you're talking about though! My Aries sun squares my friend's Capricorn moon, and my Sun also trines their Saturn. I know exactly the pull you are talking about. It creates a feeling of "mine," and dare I say faith/trust in the relationship that is different than an all consuming passionate Pluto level of togetherness. It's a solid aspect for sure, but one that's hard to let go of once the relationship is over. You still feel a need to reach for that person like a child reaches for their ratty old security blanket.

Yes! That is EXACTLY how it feels! So glad you can relate! I will definitely keep my distance. I've just been reading a bit here and there about Saturn and I'm nervous hearing that "they always come back". :/

Take a look in the "meeting 20 years later" thread and see what maybe (if it's true) be a example of the power of saturn linkage...Orange post another thread a few days ago about the bond saturn's link do.

I think "they always come back" is more probable if there is a conjunction with the nodes.

Thank you, I'll look into their post. The only aspect I can think of is his NN conjuncts my sun.

I don't know, but Saturn I think has this effect because is about lessons someone should learn (Saturn) and destiny (NN) and I guess if someone is destined to teach you something and couldn't finish, maybe they may appear in your life later to do the full job. Just my 2 cents

Very interesting theory. I guess time will tell!

I have my North Node conjunct a past romance's saturn (1 degree) and my saturn conjunct his venus (4 degrees) and his moon trine my saturn. We didn't speak for a month after some drama and I wasn't sure if he would ever reach out to me again, then a for a few days I was having intense feelings that I'd hear from him and a few days later I got a text message from him... Kind of sounded like he was trying to reconcile things. I think saturn/north node is a very strong bond. Strong karma there. I know at least for myself I feel very drawn to him. Can only speak for myself though.

Yes especially when one of them breaks the bond.
