@Gabby, ya, my Pluto doesn't do much...the only planet it aspects is Jupiter, which it is conjunct. It does square my AC though! Orb of like 1 degree.

Oh yah I don't mean to say that the outer planets don't personally affect people! Of course they do! I guess what I meant is I think that what Pluto brings into your life, you can learn from it, it does affect you, all that, but that's more like...life happening compared to Saturn, who brings things into your life that are specific for you own spiritual or karmic growth. Ya feel!

Maybe I am biased because I have a Pluto conjunct Saturn 1st house transit right now. But man does the combination of the taskmaster and the truth revealer hit you hard!

I think it really comes down to what energy you are used to in the chart, the house positions, and the type of transit/natal aspect.

I think you nailed it!!

I cant even imagine how hard it would be to have them conjunct! UGH

Lucky you!! A mild pluto is a gift!
Yes totally, i get that! I agree with you 100% on how saturn can seem more specific, it seems to be a much more defined energy.

Saturn or Pluto?
It depends on your chart
I have a first house Saturn and a ninth house Pluto...one is on an angle and the other is in a Mutable House.

My Saturn transits are not all that difficult, I am effected by circumstances around me, therefore out of my control, I deal with it.

Pluto on the other hand has been devastating.
I am just not cut out for this type of energy, totally unequipped to deal with it.

Saturn and Pluto are both strong in my chart, both are in Scorpio and both are in my 10th house. Needless to say, my entire life, particularly my 20s, have felt like a Saturn return with plenty of Pluto thrown into the mix.

My vote goes to Saturn. Saturn hosts the lesson, and gives you the ability to learn and be done with each particular one (in whatever aspect it is). Pluto will change you, but that doesn't mean you learned your lesson and Pluto's change takes longer, but Saturn's effects last longer so it's kind of a toss up...but I'm partial to Saturn.

Good point!! You are saying saturn aspects helps integrate the learning process that other planets are trying to teach you. Its the influence that helps you NOT repeat mistakes.

I think if I would have had a neptune/saturn aspect natally I would have learned my neptune lessons a lot sooner. I feel I had to go through my first saturn return to stop letting neptune disrupt my life or state of mind and influence my thinking so much. I had to become fully aware how neptune was affecting me negatively first in order to take control and start taking steps mentally to put a stop to it.

Edit: the more I learn about saturn, the more I Like it

Pluto.

Saturn is all about integrating yourself into society and maturing, and while the lessons may be difficult at first, after you learn them they are enduring and become more routine. I say this after going through a saturn sq. moon transit and am currently going through a saturn conj. sun transit. It's gotten easier.

Pluto on the other hand, is unexpected. Instead of dealing with society and the inevitable part of growing up, it focuses on the very core essence of yourself. While saturn teaches you to take control of what you can, pluto insists that no matter what, there are certain aspects of life that lie out of your grasp. You are more vulnerable, more exposed, and once you think one cucle is over, you have to begin again.

I agree, Neptune's illusions is hard to take. But once you get out of the fog then reality sets in.

Saturn adds and brings about stability. It builds up structure in one's life. (I went through a saturn opposite Sun transit a few years back).

Pluto is a hard pill to swallow cause he makes you deal with all the intensely painful things in life and helps you shed the bad from it. (I'm going through a Pluto square Sun Transit now)

surely if you have a well aspected/exalted saturn, compared to an afflicted pluto, plutos lessons are likely to be harder...

saturn is kind to me in my chart, no hard aspects although it is squaring Pluto.
Saturn is domicile and elevated.

So far my life is been pretty Saturnian, working working and more working.
I have cap north node too.
Yet do know how to have a lot of fun too many jupiter squares....
I know all the hard work will pay off.

I am Saturn's b*tch and exchange he'll give me all types of success when the time comes.

Pluto on the other hand will not reward you.
Actually your reward will be surviving and living to tell the story..
I don't have much pluto going in my chart either besides a measly Mars quincunx Pluto...
I've only had one major emotional trauma in my life so far and honestly it seems petty and common for most people.

I don't Pluto has really affected me as yet... although it was in Sagittarius it was opposite my stellium...
Hmm I was kinda young..

After reading a bunch of responses and getting a more clear understanding of Saturn and Pluto I have decided that the planet I like the least is neptune.

Neptune does not help you make wise decisions and makes inaction more tempting and inviting than achieving. It makes you a target bc it makes you a sucker and doesnt let you see clearly. It also makes you addicted to idealism which is dangerous bc you will not be happy with what you have and you will not want to work with what you got etc..

I think neptune is the worst planet.
