While Saturn will give you a few lessons and reward you a little bit if you manage to make something out of yourself..Pluto will wait until you gather anything that is vital to you and then rip it off your hands.

Neptune kaka. A fall from neptune to the ground isn't pretty.

Seriously though, I guess it depends on the natal charts. For me, I'm saturn dominant. I'm familiar with that energy so saturn's lessons are not that hard to swallow.

Pluto, on the other hand...

Would you say that Pluto exists to teach detachment??....It seems pluto is about attachment and detachment. Its like pluto teaches you to become attached and then teaches you to become detached..

Ohh neptune!!!!!!

I feel you, belief me...neptune is the addiction of idealism or been idealistic which it really isn't good even though it sounds so nice but if you have a lot of saturn aspects then neptune should not be that much of a problem for you which is a blessing.

Saturn for me.

I like Pluto, even the hard transits. I enjoy transforming my life (lotsa Pluto aspects in my chart) and digging deeper, letting go of things that no longer serve my higher purpose.

Saturn...ugh. It's always great *after* the lesson has been learned for me, but the lessons in my life have been harsh. Sometimes due to my own behavior, but crushing in the process.

As I've stated in other threads, Neptune and Uranus can kick rocks as far as I'm concerned.

I can relate. A love affair with Neptune is like a dysfunctional relationship. It hurts but you keep going back just to get your fix.

In my colour profile, neptune comes in second (16.7), only lost to saturn (17.7) by a bit.

Neptune: I have dreams, idealism and promises to offer. Will you be mine?

Saturn pulls my hand: You come home with papa right now. Forget Neptune. I forbid you to play with that hot mess. Scoundrel, only empty promises.

Exactly. It seems like Pluto punishes you for something that Pluto himself forced you to do.
For example,I have Pluto in the 4rth house and I am very careful with bonding with family because whenever I do,they screw me over.
I also. have a very heavy Saturn influence and Saturn can be really mean but he doesn't punish you,he simply gives you life lessons.

Pluto is a bit sadistic!

I have pluto conjunct saturn in the 11th and I always thought it was saturn bringing me pain but you have painted a very clear picture for me. This is why I started the thread to bring more clarity into this bc since in my case they are conjuncting each other it was hard for me to see which one was bringing me what.

Saturn brings you maturity and teaches you lessons like a good parent would lets say... and pluto the god of the underworld is having a little fun at our expense (half joking).

But to be fair detachment is a valuable lesson and I guess you can't really learn detachment without becoming attached first but its most likely the hardest lesson to learn.

Loved your input.

IDK saturn and pluto together is weird though bc pluto is like risk it all and saturn is like be cautious, take your time.

I have more to ponder on but I have a much more clear picture of pluto and saturn.

Thanks.

Neptune is the worst one.

Neptune? Maybe. But I think you need Saturn / Neptune for it to actually teach you anything, otherwise Neptune just gives you issues.

My vote goes to Saturn. Saturn hosts the lesson, and gives you the ability to learn and be done with each particular one (in whatever aspect it is). Pluto will change you, but that doesn't mean you learned your lesson and Pluto's change takes longer, but Saturn's effects last longer so it's kind of a toss up...but I'm partial to Saturn.

Hmmm, my Pluto is 2 degrees from sitting exact on my ascendant.
Pluto isn't being cruel when it dangles what you think you need in front of you then slaps you for taking it! Lol, it just seems like it is!
Actually Pluto's purpose is to show you where you are weak inside, the places you use crutches/band aids to deal with pain instead of seeing it and dealing with it!
When you deal with issues and grow, break down the walls and build a new foundation then pluto will allow you to find happiness, real happiness!
Pluto purpose is to break through the facade that is masking a deeper insecurity, this 'need' you run after is what keeps you distracted and able to blame others for your feelings instead of taking responsibility for them. That 'need' allows you to not have to deal with the issues or beliefs that are hurting you from the inside out!

It seems Pluto pulls tricks give you something then hurts you with it but what it's actually doing is showing you that no matter how much you believe something will make you happy, it wont unless your happy inside first!

When Pluto gives you something then hurts you with it, its showing you whatever area your looking to outside yourself and cant seem to get it, emotionally this is the area you aren't able to give yourself.

For example if you don't feel happy unless your in a relationship Pluto will give you a relationship that makes you miserable to the point that eventually you'll want to be alone so you can spend time trying to discover who you are and what you need so you learn to make yourself happy and whole with or without a relationship!

@Gabby

So me with Pluto in the 4rth Square Moon and forming a less important aspect to my sun,is practically telling me that family is something I don't need and will never complete me?

Its telling you that you are trying to rely on them for something you cant give yourself....your expecting that relationship to fix something in you that it cant, only you can fix the hole your wanting the relationship to fix.

But i only have experience of a **** Saturn - Natal Pisces & Nodal Cancer 3rd house, my Saturn annoys me with a Passion, i'd say my lessons are to be more responsibly caring & spiritual, to brave the imaginative world within communication & surroundings, which softens my communication, verbal speech patterns and ability for taking in information and creating boundaries, but luckily i have a Natal Capricorn moon & Nodel Capricorn Mars to give me the needed structure..

Where as Pluto has you float along in an ocean of unfathomable depth, it creates a feeling of darkness as a home where you must learn your lessons through experiencing the creation, destruction & rebirth process, the craving of power & by bringing the depths of knowledge to the surface..

As an example, my 1st house libra pluto....my pluto lesson is about learning to take responsibility for how i am seen, not cowering to others who try to force me to be something that isnt authentic to who i really am.
Stop being wishy washy and allowing fear of offending others or upsetting others to override being true to myself.

I was raised in an extreme religion, many consider a cult and even though everything in me knew what i was being taught was wrong, i went along with it, it was all id known and i didnt want to upset anyone by being bad or going against them(had to keep the peace)
I married into the religion and started having children being the good little wifey in subjection but inside i was dying!
Pluto tried many times to wake me up, but i ignored it....until one of the beliefs of the religion nearly caused the death of my son.
In one day, everything id known my whole life died....i realize it was a lie. Once my son was healthy again i ran with my kids and started my life over, everyone thought id went crazy and everyone id ever nown turned their back on me.

But i still hadnt learned plutos lesson, id made the first step but i was still brainwashed and married again immediately, i had no identity without someone telling me who i was, id always been told who i was!
2nd husband was equally abusive as 1st, so i ran again....had to protect my kids(never protecting myself tho)
ran to another relationship, again i had to escape it.....and i finally realized i needed to stop needing someone else in order to feel okay about me, i needed to find out who i was so i felt okay with me with or without a relationship....
so thats what ive been doing for the past 10 years!

Today i love pluto, pluto has humbled me into seeing the areas that dont work in your life are nobody's issues except our own, and that is plutos lesson!
Pluto will shine a light on your deepest fears, and force a life that puts salt in that wound until you finally have had enough pain from it that you give in, face the fears and deal with it to fix it!

I dont mean to disagree but o me...I dont think pluto takes things from you....ugh....it does, but it doesnt.
The only things Pluto takes are things that are blocking you or your distracting yourself with to avoid seeing a deeper issue.
Pluto really is your friend but it uses tough love to get through to you until youve been humbled enough that you dont fight it when pluto tries to show you something that needs to be fixed. Pluto doesnt do fake so anything thats allowing you to sabotage yourself, meaning the issues inside you that block you from being happy, truly happy....pluto will remove these blinders for you!
Like me my major issue was having no identity and believing i was a person....i used relationships to give me an identity so pluto had to make these relationships such nightmarish relationships i had to keep leaving....until i realized no relationship was going to be good for me until i was able to solidy myself, to learn who i was and what i needed first....instead of needing a relationship to identify me, for me.
I hope that makes sense?

Right now my entire house system is getting hit by transit pluto...libra AC@9, IC cap@10
my life is taking a complete overhaul but whatever opportunity arises no matter how much i want to try to keep everything the same....im going to let pluto guide me because it will take me where it wants to go no matter what, but how i get there, easy or hard is up to me.
Pluto has a better understanding, a clearer picture of life than i do because im so close to myself, i can lie to myself and not even realize it! Pluto will help stop that from happening and set you on the right path.

Saturn is the great teacher and when you ignore his lessons, they only build up, as do the repercussions.

Pluto, and any planet beyond Saturn for that matter, don't really teach you lessons per se. They can cause you issues and strife, but it's up to you to use your compass to find the lesson in it and learn. Pluto can cause some intense trouble in your life! So can Uranus and Neptune. But unlike Saturn, what they bring to you is just what they bring to you, it's up to you to grow from it and if you don't, it could very well blow over.

Saturn wants you to grow and what he brings to you will follow you or come back on a later day.

I like saturn also....its an 1 degree trine to my Sun and 0 degree trine to my mercury, square my uranus.
I agree Saturn lessons are more concrete and easier to understand over plutos lessons, they are easy to misunderstand.

Again, i dont mean to disagree but i believe you'll feel pluto personally if it aspects your personal planets or angles in your chart, even if it is a generational planet. The closer the aspect the more intensely you'll feel it.
My lessons have been intense and you can see that by the close aspect to my AC, also you see how religion and struggle for spiritual freedom become part of my pluto lessons/blessings and the potential for delusions in these areas because my pluto is an exact sextile to saggy neptune, 2 minutes apart. Even though these planets are generational they have played a heavy role personally in my life.

Both. At the same time.

Maybe I am biased because I have a Pluto conjunct Saturn 1st house transit right now. But man does the combination of the taskmaster and the truth revealer hit you hard!

I think it really comes down to what energy you are used to in the chart, the house positions, and the type of transit/natal aspect.
