My boyfriend is an earth stellium with an air singleton (Aquarius). I am an air stellium with an earth singleton (Capricorn, his sun sign). We have quite a few sextiles, trines and conjunctions in our synastry (including moon sextile Venus), but we also have the dreaded moon sq. Moon. He's Earth Sun Sag moon (an earthy fiery type). I'm Aqua sun Pisces moon (an airy watery type). His sun is in the sixth house and mine is in the seventh. So we're very different but we're oddly also very similar. If there's any one aspect that causes us the most problems I would say it's that moon square. I don't know how you can rectify blatant rudeness with oversensitivity. I don't know if it *can* be rectified. I think balance is good and I do think personal growth is what we should be going for, generally. I really appreciate his earthy qualities. So difference can be good but it depends on the kind of differences. Semi-sextiles and oppositions I think are good. Personally though, I would stay away from those squares. IP: Logged |

Do you look at signs or houses being next to each other as compatible in a way? With your solar houses being right next to each other, I'm sure you guys help each other a lot. Lately I've been fascinated with the relationship of the signs Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio since being with my boyfriend.

Like my Venus sextile his Sun/Merc/Venus and his Mars trine my Sun/Merc. I think that when you find one of "the ones" out there for you you'll find that not only do they fill what you lack, but are also compatible with what you have.

If you're a person who enjoys Growth & Passion in your relationships like *I* do...then *some* differences are essential. I enjoy learning from my partner, being enlightened by Him on a regular basis! I also enjoy teaching him some things and getting Him to open up to me more & more. I look at our relationship as a JOURNEY - where we happily *explore* every aspect of life together and we push & encourage each other to be BETTER. On the flip side, "Opposites Attract" is a phrase that people just throw out there without actually thinking about it. -You MUST have some interests in common; -You MUST generally share the same outlook on life; -You MUST view sex in similar fashions; -You MUST both share the same desires about family/finances. Having a *FOUNDATION* is everything! And if you are opposites in EVERY way, your relationship will eventually fail on you. So I don't want us to be EXACTLY alike - that is boring! But if we are completely different - that is a disaster!
I agree with these. I think you need a bit of both. I'm a Capricorn Sun and tend to be most attracted to Fire sign Suns, then after that Air sign Suns. But these placements also make nice harmony with my Sagittarius stellium (Asc, Mercury, Venus, Neptune) and Leo Mars. I also have a Water Moon and I need some harmony to my Moon, it's so sensitive... So yeah, I like a bit of both. The same values and priorities (a good foundation for being together), but different temperaments (makes things interesting). IP: Logged |

It's interesting that while your individual moon signs are squared, you were both born just a pinch after the NEW MOON. This, I believe, is where the attraction lies. So while you may clash badly with other Sag moons/squared moons, the squared/Sag moon with an identical phase will feel "worth the effort." I'm starting to believe that synastry starts with moon phase compatibility. The marriages of Prince Charles & Prince William lead me on this track. I am a Gemini-Sagittarius (Full Moon), and I always feel liked, welcomed, at ease, & appreciated among other Full Moon types. Sexually, however, it feels like something's missing. This may very well be all my Neptune, but romantically I've always noted a certain gentleness & appeal about those born at the New Moon. Of course I've had feelings for different persons, but with New Moons there is a certain familiar sexiness - if they're my type. During my romantic progressions (pVenus cj nSun; pVenus changing signs) the universe sent me three different Scorpios; Scorpio-Libra, Scorpio-Scorpio, Scorpio-Sagittarius. All New Moon types in my book. Backstory: My cousins who I grew up with & were surrogate siblings to me were; Libra-Pisces, Libra-Taurus, Aqua-Leo; Full Moon types in my book. When I visited the other side of my family I bonded easily with the full moon ones...funny. These relations aren't always smooth sailing, but it shows what I'm magnetized to. My Cookbook Theory: New Moon needs; Full Moon, or Last Quarter for love & sex. First Quarter & other New Moons for friendship and comraderie. ... IP: Logged |

To be honest, from a solar perspective, I do. Depends on the signs though but there really is a balancing effect in place most of the time. For instance, Aries and Pisces are a great match. So are Libra and Scorpio. But that's because Pisces likes Aries' initiative, and Libra and Scorpio are both other-focused signs.

You just gave me for courage for my crush! lol He's earth/fire and i'm air/earth. He has 5 planets in earth, 2 in air, 2 in water and 1 in fire. I'm 4 in fire, 2 in air, 2 in water, and 2 in earth. I'm pretty sure he has a fire ascendant (judging by the way he is maybe Leo) and I have a water ascendant (Pisces). I definitely notice the difference between our moons though - we could not be more different...he's so courageous with his emotions and I'm terrified of them lol. He has an Aries moon and I have a Virgo moon - complete and utter square. IP: Logged | |
