With the hard aspects.

Here is the usual scenario in a love connection, starting with the first contact:

The Sun person worshipes the Saturn person and is unexplicably drawn to them. Saturn is very very flattered. Saturn basks in the shine of the Sun person and lit up. Saturn never felt so good before. He would try to tighten the grip and the control, so that the provider of that warm sunshine never goes away and leaves them in the cold again. He does so by going out of their ways to support the Sun person, in the beginning. Once the Sun person is hooked on that stream of unearthy devotion, Saturn starts withdrawing the steroids and slowly starve the Sun person by chopping off the Sun's confidence and makeing them inferior to the Saturn and completely dependable on them. This works every time! Saturn becomes so sure of the Sun's admiration that he slowly starts taking advantage of the Sun and even undermines them. This is where the Saturn person makes the first mistake! The Saturn likes the effect they have over the Sun so incredibly much that when the Sun person shows a sign of not being interested or appreciative anymore or has had it with Saturn and starts to rebel, the Saturn person goes into a full blown panic mode. Saturn feels miserable and so vulnerable at this moment, but they will try their best to remain cool and composite. All of sudden they are back to square one where they have to seduce the Sun again, and they don't waste any time in not doing so. It starts all over again in a circle. How it ends or not, depends on the rest of the synastry and how strong are each Sun (venus) or saturn in their natal charts.

I was thinking about the same thing...
And actually went to check for Saturn/Sun aspects in our synastry, baha.
We have a loose DW opposition, dude. 7° & 6°. And our Marses are in there, too. So we have them in the composite. Oh, God.
We'd probably kill each other if we lived together but I don't care, I love you anyway. Tee hee.

I have this with someone. This is exactly what happened except it happened without actually having the intensions of doing this. If the rest of the synastry has trines, sextiles and conjunctions, what does that say for the rest of the relationship?

if the rest of the synastry is calm and managable, then the two partners will reach a level of equilibrium after the initial struggle, where each one would know their role and accept it.

I have his sun square my saturn and his saturn trine my sun, and then my saturn square his venus
And oh…my…god…
I can just say that I haven't felt this with him yet (we have only been together for some months) but I can't help being a bit paranoid with all that saturn…. I really try not to seem like an authority and be strict, but even then he sometimes tells me I look mad out of the blue…and I really, really try not to!

I think that the thing with this aspect is that no matter how hard you try, you can't trick astrology or saturn, he will eventually know what's going on

But I think we're already so glued together that I will just try to make the best out of it, at least it feels very stable, and I think I won't give up so easily with trying to charm him over and over again!;P

I do remember my Saturn t-square is on your Saturn t-square since our Saturns are in a tight opposition and it all makes a giant grand square in the synastry, with your lethal Pluto splashed all over it. I wouldnt stand a chance, had i been a gorgeous male. Haha..

What indicates that a relationship is calm and manageable? I have many sextiles, trines and conjunctions with him also, but all the tension in our synastry is mainly caused by the outer planets uranus, saturn and neptune

Want to know this too, his saturn conjuncts my sun same with his jupiter in his 5th
My saturn quincunx his sun and sextiles his saturn, moon, his moon trines my sun etc

From the story it sounds like the saturn is kind of obsessed and want to do everything in his power to keep the sun? That's good right?

Squares are necessary and for mature people GOOD. With trines and sextile to Saturn the couple would learn NOTHING.
as for CONJUNCTIONS like oppositions these aspects are NEUTRAL, keep in mind that.

^ Will have to disagree with you, here.

I consider Saturn squares and oppositions as lessons while the flowing aspects and in some cases the conjunction the "reward" aspects after you've been through so much pain and BS, and it's like a safe haven...

Long-term relationships cannot survive on too much "work" and challenges.

JMO.

(that probably sounded very Jovial, but whatever).

The interesting thing is though,t hat most longterm relationships seem to rather have the dynamic Saturn-aspects (including conjunction and opposition) instead of the sextile or trine.

But be assured I am going to research that some more.

^ Yeah, I know! It's weird.

I mean, I can see how they are attractive, but they become way too oppressive after some time.

Maybe it's becase (actually, it's probably because) I have a super-afflicted Saturn so it's like "no thanks", I don't need any more of that energy... I got enough of my own, lmao.

Although I do need a "Saturnian" partner, someone who can give me structure, and generally I like people who seem wiser and more mature than myself.

I'm pretty sure it's because I'm under a Neptune transit now so Saturn seems to be such a bit*h!! hahaha. Wait actually it's because I'm under a Saturn transit... conjunction to the Sun, ahem. That's why.

If the couple is under 29 of course the relationship wont survive. And again... challenging aspects to Saturn are not the only aspects that can make the relationship fail. Even good aspects can. When its too perfect and too good, boredom comes in action. Synastry and composite is the real deal. Can tell for sure if the relationship will be for life or not. Mathematically speaking, Saturn is a planet, its connections count but not in the general way. The houses and angles that touches matters.
My point: Saturn connections are not always bad. Especially in synastry. With love and patience. Saturn is about patience and wisdom.

Awwww why? Can you not learn to be mature when you are under 29? I know you need your saturn return, but what about flowing pluto aspects in the synastry/composite? We have for an example ascendant trine pluto and moon trine pluto, and that's the only pluto aspect we got, but they are very good… maybe you can learn how to grow with saturn this way (I hope!:P)
