It helps, like said, for both to have planets in the sign before or after them that can trine/sextile the other person's Sun. Even better when the Scorpio has Leo placements and the other way around... or Pluto for the Leo person and a strong Sun/5th house for the Scorpio. This square is HARD to have in the chart - I have it - and it feels good to be on the same level with that other person. Fixed squares are generally hard as neither is likely to give in very soon, but the passionate fire/water combo is even worse, as they're very emotion-driven.
Scorpios are slow to open up and need some time to process their emotions - get away from it all.
Leos want a thank you for the things they do for being very giving and generous. That's probably the main problem between them. Both parties have to be willing to give the other some wiggle room here.

Another thing, both are extremely protective of their feelings. But while Leos express it outwardly, Scorpios usually keep it to themselves. And yeah, in Leo's defence, the ones that roar the loudest are the most insecure. The things they do to protect their ego... aww it's almost cute. Don't tell them I said that.

there's a girl at work i used to not get along with. she's scorpio/aqua. so our synastry was a grand cross. now we get along fine - with some work.

i think that's pretty true for all my bad experiences with scorpio women. butt heads at first and then it's fine. i try to always do the right thing and i think they can appreicate that when they realize that. i just don't know how well they receive my more annoying leo traits initially

A good friend of mine is a Scorp ( I get along well with them) and she's rather nuts. Anyway one day her boyfriend wasn't returning her calls, so she went over to his apartment, climbed the side of the building to his 3rd floor balcony and walked in. I don't know if he was a Leo or not, but I'm pretty sure he crapped his pants.
