Hey everybody I had a question..

I have a new guy that I'm currently seeing and so far things have been great! I did our synastry (just the basic love compatibility from 0800 horoscope website)and basically in every aspect we have they conjunct (that's good right?) except we have that *pesky* Venus square Neptune, which seems to plague me because I also have in my natal chart. Another thing I found interesting is when I switch the birthdays and make his first, he has Mars trine Sun, but that aspect doesn't come up for me.

What does it all mean? I should probably mention (not sure if relevant or not) we are polyamorous. He's married but he and his wife seek out relationships OUTSIDE of their marriage. Could that be the Venus square Neptune you think?

Yes, definitely the Venus/Neptune square.

Be careful not to expect more than he can give you! It can be a deceiving aspect.

Avoid this aspect at all costs. Deceiving prospect.

What about Venus conjunct Neptune (by like 2 degrees)? Is that bad too?

What's interesting about this aspect is I've only ever found it with men either born the same yr as me or the yr after.

I did a little in-depth reading on what this aspect could really mean & with our situation I can predict where the deception could be..not necessarily anything horrible.. But I think he may try to adjust his likes or dislikes according to me. He's a cancer moon & I learned that often times they will "force" themselves to love people even if they really don't in the beginning. Perfect example would be his first gifirend & now wife. Neither he was particularly interested in but they persued him & he just went with it. My situation is a bit different as I'm the first person he's ever sought out or persued romantically.

Also another "deception" could be his ability to remain unjealous of any outside relationships that me & his wife may have outside of him.. I've caught him saying little things already that could indicate a slight hint of jealousy or possessiveness over me. But of course ask him about it & he'd state he's feeling no such thing.

So I did a google search for venus/Neptune synastry just to get an idea of the dynamics of it & I stumped upon this: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/216431.html

And this quote is what pretty much sums up how v sq nept. affects me in relationships:

"I feel like I'm trapped, beacuse whenever I see that Neptune is involved in a synastry, I begin to over-analyse behaviours so that I don't get tricked, but then again, I become so biased and cautious that I constantly think the other person is lying to me."

This pretty much describes me to a T!!! The thing about it though is I don't even need to see the synastry to over analyze & think the other person is deceiving me because I do that anyway due to already having a V sq Nept natally. Sucks man.. I don't know how to over come it..

ETA: is it ever possible that the personal planet person could deceive the Neptune person as well?

I ask because the guy I'm seeing seems quite green behind the ears as I'm only the 3rd female he's ever been involved with. The only way I can describe it is he seems very impressionable., but I've also read that cancer moons are like that by nature. BUT part of me thinks he knows more than he lets on..

Neptune spends a long time in the same sign, so people born a few years apart are all going to share this aspect with you if you have natal venus square neptune. I would say look at the orb in synastry to ensure it is close.

My experience with Venus square Neptune in synastry has been a bit bizarre. I was the Neptune. The guy had a natal Venus in Aries square Neptune in Capricorn and of course in Synastry his Venus squared my Neptune. Despite what I would tell him, he kept on insisting that I was the love of his life. I do not know what he saw in me, but I can tell you that what he saw was eons away from who I actually am. I never had any feelings for him and I told him first gently, but he wont take any hints. I then told him that blatantly many times, yet he would continue to deceive himself. It was as if no matter what I said, he would hear what he wanted to hear. It was incredibly frustrating. It was tiring for me as Neptune to feel as if I have to live up to his ideals as well.

Echoing what other people have said above, the danger here is of You as the natal venus square neptune person to not see the relationship and the other person clearly, to give yourself excuses to think it is what you want it to be. As long as you are painfully honest with yourself and the other person, it should be okay. I doubt there is ever 'blatant' deception involved from Neptune.

Well I did a bit more research and found some other interesting things regarding this aspect in synastry..and one that REALLY stood out for me is that it's not always the personal planet who can be deceived but the Neptune can suffer deception from the personal planet as well. Looking back on the relationship I had with my ex who I had two children with, I remember at one point he said that I turned out to be completely different than what he thought I was. Now in this situation he was the neptune, *I* was the venus..but this relationship was doomed from the start as we had v sq nept AND mars sq nept.

Scarily enough our relationship was textbook with violence, aggression, and lying. The relationship was based purely off sex (we can thank sun sextile mars for that)..but in hindsight it wasn't meant to last..after about month 3 I remember sitting in his truck and us discussing(my idea)taking a break. We agreed, but then like two days later I found out I was pregnant and so he felt it was only right to stay with me and make it work. Well the relationship finally came to a screeching halt at about 6yrs and another child later. And that was only because he was having one of his violent rages threatening me and somebody heard him and called the cops and that was the beginning of the end. To be honest I'd probably still be with him if it hadn't happened, just simply based on not knowing how to get out.

With this current guy, I kind of feel like sometimes he does idealize me and I first I felt myself falling into the "fog" but I've successfully pulled myself out (for now). While he says he's not looking for anything purely sexual (and he's made some bold statements to back this up) I still don't believe. What I've learned with having this aspect natally is to watch ACTIONS instead of just believing what a person is saying. So far it hasn't steered me wrong yet. So I'll be watching this one like a hawk lol
