The other placements also matter, as well as what each individual does with the energy.

Growing up Libra I had a lot of mental energy to work out and being on the Scorpio cusp (including Mercury conjunct Pluto) made me especially fearless of asking probing questions and disliking superficiality... nevertheless when teachers took to making special rules for me every year so that I could read and write stories in exchange for not asking questions in their class I tried to honor that unspoken agreement (and if I forgot myself and asked questions it often got bad, I recall seeing teachers get very nervous whenever I raised my hand, with few exceptions like my Texas History teacher who not only liked my questions but my initiative in finding the answers on my own when she couldn't answer them and then sharing with her). But the Scorpio energies could make me bitingly sarcastic at times and all that Sag energy in my chart could make me blunt as well (luckily for them I channeled my Leo asc through my creative works I shared with my friends, school was just to be endured like the Texas heat).

In addition I was born in the year of the dog. Dogs bark, especially when they see injustice, and that only enhances my Libra scales (with touch of Scorpio energy and Sag ethical philosophy and Leo wanting to protect others) which did inspire some interesting confrontations at times (some still talked about years later), especially in my youth when I had a lot more idealism and a lot less impulse control.

Learning astrology has helped me understand some people in retrospect. For example, back in high school there was this girl that I was made to sit next to and we had the same birthday (same first & middle name and our last names were close) & born at the same hospital (other kids joked I must've taken her pacifier in the maternity ward given how much she hated me for no apparent reason). She was always giving me a hard time thinking I was having sex with the boys I was friends with among other things and now I realize she thought I was threatening the harmony at the school by blurring gender boundaries as well as my particular manifestation of independence threatening the social order that she thrived in. Not that she was conscious of that but I'm sure now that was why she instinctively hated me. Given that she grew up in a different environment than me her astrological energy manifested in a different way...I didn't bark at her outside the one class we shared, however, I just didn't care one way or another about her.

Most people who've gotten to know me in the past few years would be surprised by all that, however. When they do learn there's a lot more to me than they assumed they can be shocked at how multifaceted I am. And most see me as sweet and easygoing (I shrug off far more than I dish out) but then I tend to push those not worth being nice to (as they'll use you as a doormat or worse) outside my circle where I have little as possible (nothing if I can manage it) to do with them and my dog can manifest as the ***** if they try to intrude with their obnoxiousness (and worse). And when a few people have gone out of their way to give me (or someone I care about) a very hard time (or done something really obnoxious like destroy a child's sidewalk chalk art), or like when relatives gave me a hard time during a horrid heat wave while my granny was in the hospital, then they can hear my bark or roar, but they're often shocked when they see I have a spine who won't put up with their crap despite being easygoing with most other people.

@PixieJane

I'm not sure what to say about your post but I just wanted to say that I've come to enjoy your lengthy posts.

EDIT: I guess I find it facinating that you found someone so close to your birth time. (The day at least) I've often wanted to find out. My mom said there was another lady in her same room giving birth also. It'd be interesting to find that person, I think.

I'm not sure why people think Libra is a passive peace loving sign, maybe Taurus?
Perhaps because the sun is debilitated in Libra can cause a loss of self.
Granted I have Scorpio Asc with a stellium with a Sag moon

I just happened to come across this, thought you'd appreciate it:
http://www.wikihow.com/Love-a-Libra

quote:
Be fair-minded and honest. Libras care deeply about balance, justice and equality. It's not a coincidence that the scales are also a symbol for justice. There's nothing a Libra hates more than if something isn't fair

quote:
Libras aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe in no matter what the cost.

Libras may not like conflict, but when approached in a threatening manner, will not back down.

They are very family oriented and make excellent spouses and parents, they are fiercely protective of the ones they love and are naturally selfless.

Libras bring balance and inner peace, but they can also be ferocious warriors, equaled only by a Leo, when it comes to fighting for what they believe in

And since you have a Sag stellium as I do, here's Sag:
http://www.wikihow.com/Date-a-Sagittarius

quote:
Understand their outspokenness. Some of the more sensitive signs may see the Sag's penchant for telling it like it is to be rude and lacking tact. That's not what the Sagittarius is intending to do! They simply don't see the value in not being open and truthful.

They're not being malicious. It's simply a symptom of their individualized character that they need to express. So the next time your Sag says your perfume or cologne is too strong, don't take it personally. They're just saying what's on their mind -- once they've said it, they're onto the next. It doesn't phase them, so don't let it phase you.

I can also relate to this:

quote:
Some people will not be okay with a lover they can't attach themselves at the hip to. If this is you, you'll probably be better off dating a different sign! This is a factor that the quintessential Sag will not budge on.

And plenty of other things like love of travel and nature.

Wait, not sure if you meant you had a Sag stellium or Scorpio. As it happens I have both Libra & Sag stelliums and most to all of my Libra is on the Scorpio cusp, and I've got Jupiter and an asteroid or two in Scorpio to give it a dash more Scorpio. Scorpio can give a cutting edge to words as well, though I almost never express that part of me now (but I can insert dialog inspired by it into my fics).

Barbie (LL user if you don't know) is what I see a Libra as. But she has a Libra stellium if I remember. I don't actually talk to her much at all but she seems really fun.

Aweee I have sun moon mercury and ascendant all in Libra I'm really bubbly. I love talking to everyone here, I'm shocked we've never really talked before lol

Libra is the sign I'm most romantically compatible with and it's also the sign I'm most sexually attracted to. I like libra women as lovers because of their balanced romantic nature. They can be very loving and cuddly but they still have the airy detachment and lightheartedness about them. As an Aquarius male I can be funny about relationships and emotions. I have tried dating watery women and they completely overwhelm me with their emotions and clinginess and I have dated women of other signs who are way too cold. For me, libra women are just right lol .

Just for fun I thought I'd share this poem by a Libra in love:

You've read the story of Jesse James
Of how he lived and died;
If you're still in need
Of something to read,
Here's the story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Now Bonnie and Clyde are the Barrow gang,
I'm sure you all have read
How they rob and steal
And those who squeal
Are usually found dying or dead.

There's lots of untruths to these write-ups;
They're not so ruthless as that;
Their nature is raw;
They hate all the law
The stool pigeons, spotters, and rats.

They call them cold-blooded killers;
They say they are heartless and mean;
But I say this with pride,
That I once knew Clyde
When he was honest and upright and clean.

But the laws fooled around,
Kept taking him down
And locking him up in a cell,
Till he said to me,
"I'll never be free,
So I'll meet a few of them in hell."

The road was so dimly lighted;
There were no highway signs to guide;
But they made up their minds
If all roads were blind,
They wouldn't give up till they died.

The road gets dimmer and dimmer;
Sometimes you can hardly see;
But it's fight, man to man,
And do all you can,
For they know they can never be free.

From heart-break some people have suffered;
From weariness some people have died;
But take it all in all,
Our troubles are small
Till we get like Bonnie and Clyde.

If a policeman is killed in Dallas,
And they have no clue or guide;
If they can't find a fiend,
They just wipe their slate clean
And hand it on Bonnie and Clyde.

There's two crimes committed in America
Not accredited to the Barrow mob;
They had no hand
In the kidnap demand,
Nor the Kansas City depot job.

A newsboy once said to his buddy;
"I wish old Clyde would get jumped;
In these awful hard times
We'd make a few dimes
If five or six cops would get bumped."

The police haven't got the report yet,
But Clyde called me up today;
He said, "Don't start any fights
We aren't working nights
We're joining the NRA."

From Irving to West Dallas viaduct
Is known as the Great Divide,
Where the women are kin,
And the men are men,
And they won't "stool" on Bonnie and Clyde.

If they try to act like citizens
And rent them a nice little flat,
About the third night
They're invited to fight
By a sub-gun's rat-tat-tat.

They don't think they're too tough or desperate,
They know that the law always wins;
They've been shot at before,
But they do not ignore
That death is the wages of sin.

Some day they'll go down together;
And they'll bury them side by side;
To few it'll be grief
To the law a relief
But it's death for Bonnie and Clyde.

-- Bonnie Parker

for all the comments here.

Let me point out that as Libra is ruled by Venus, a very receptive planet, where Venus is (sign and house) is really important in which side of Libra is going to show.
A conjunction to Venus can especially change the way they will express their Libra.

Like if your Venus is in Scorpio, it's disposited by Pluto. So you're likely going to be more intense and probably show the "fight for what's right" side of Libra more.

Then there's the people-pleasing side, the love-to-debate one, and I've seen Libra Moons with lots of Aquarius + Sag go as far as physically avoid and ignore people who are too emotional for them - to keep away from things that shake up the balance too much.

So yes, it all depends. There's nothing wrong with you, you're just relating more to one specific side of Libra, one that matches the Scorpio dominance.

EDIT: Ooops didn't read the OP right and mixed up two people. Sorry!

OP, maybe your Sagittarius Moon is taking over. Is that Venus conjunct your Jupiter or Sun? Then it could be you relate more to Sag or Leo qualities.

I think libra is one of those highly overrated signs in astrology (no offense)

One characteristic I notice in most libras i've known personally is that they always seem to be needing someone to project onto. It's as if they look to others to find a clear sense of who they are, often in a vain way like a mirror, however once the image they see in you does not reflect the refined ideal in their mind they are very quick to detatch.

In this way they are excellent with people as they are constantly reaching out to others. They are very good diplomats and smooth talkers, because they are so interested in other people they know just what to say. Unfortunately this people-pleasing nature of libra can result in extreme passive agressiveness (opposite of aries), as naturally they dislike conflict and disharmony.

Libra is prominent in society, especially ascending signs. People must like the Libran characteristics.

When you think about Libra, it is often the kinds of traits a civilization craves. Peacefulness, consideration, justice, people who are rational, not too emotional. They value marriage and partnership. They have a pleasing appearance, are neat and well groomed. Cautious with a sense of right and wrong.

These characteristics tend to be in demand.

I have a Libra moon. I do that (avoid/ignore people) sort of. It's not because they're too emotional (I have pluto conjunct my moon - being emotional doesn't bother me). I avoid combative people - people who like to fight. Arian energy kinda rubs me the wrong way and so does Scorpio energy also. A lot of times it feels to me like they're intentionally trying to start a fight just for the hell of it and that's when I start tuning them out or backing out of the door.
