Ive always felt like an outsider too. Thanks for the input. IP: Logged |

Do you know what house your NN is in? Mine is in 9th house, and I've always dreamed about traveling far away from home to experience how I would make it there, make new friends and get to know my self in another culture… I do think aquarius in NN is something about learning how to socialize IP: Logged |

MY NN is in the 4th house. Ive always thought about moving to another country, or to a different state. Im thinking about pursuing a martial art, and they have a limited selection here where i live. I would absolutely love to meet new people. As far as socializing, i feel it is a deep rooted problem as far as being comfortable with myself around people. Ive been trying hard lately to connect with people and to love all people and to see the beauty in everyone.

I have NN Aqua in 4th too. I've lived in several different countries. When I was younger I didn't feel comfortable being myself. I always thought everyone was judging me. Now honestly, if people don't like me, that's too bad. I love to socialize, however, I still don't feel comfortable in large groups and I won't go to an event if I don't know anyone. When I'm done socializing I need a day or so to recover. This is something that I'm trying to get better at and by learning my chart, I see that I have the capacity. It's just having the courage (or something) to just push through the uncomfortable part. PS, I'm not very sporty, but of all the sports, I've always wanted to learn a martial art.

Thats awesome. What countries have you been to? I used to live in Germany when I was 4 years old, but Ive lived in the United States 96% of my life. I usually fear large groups, but I always push myself to socialize even when Im afraid. Afterall, they're people just like you and me right? I often ask myself, why are you so afraid of another human being? I really try to relate and enjoy being around people and seeing them as like a brother or sister, and just seeing people as who and what they are. They are people just like us, and they deserve to be treated as such. I have no choice but to live from the heart....if I dont then my life is worthless and will be shattered immensely. I used to think people judged me too, but quite honestly I was judging myself instead of focusing on the beautiful relationships right in front of me. We are all unique, and equal in the sense that we are all human beings with a lot to offer. Courage is needed but ive found that so is determination especially in realizing that we shouldnt be scared of other people. I realized that its okay to fail, and when i look at failure as a positive thing i begin to open myself up more bc we are not perfect. I tell myself that I have to accept failure. You cant be afraid of it because then you wont be able to do anything. With all of that being said.. What martial art were you interested in? Thank you for sharing by the way. I enjoyed reading your post very much. IP: Logged |

I've been out of the US for almost 20 years having lived and traveled in Europe and South America. I haven't been to Asia, Africa or Australia yet. I like to live in different countries and travel, though I'm not super adventurous. So trekking Nepal isn't on my list of things to do, IYKWIM. I'd really like to go to Japan next. I'm a fan of all kinds of martial arts movies from the 70s Kung Fu movies right on through to recent beauties like House of the Flying Daggers plus the "inspired by" movies like Matrix/Kill Bill, etc. I've always had Wing Chun in my mind because of the legend that it was started by a woman and I think it's a simpler version of other types of Kung Fu. At least that's my impression from an outsider. Though I find that it's not very common where I've lived. There is always an Aikido studio somewhere. Aikido is very popular here. However, this is another fear for me: I don't want to look like a fool considering how not coordinated and clumsy I tend to be. Keeps me away from sports and dancing in general. Sigh. You are very right about the approach to life. Everyone has struggles. At least we are self aware enough to try go move forward.

Yeah I know what you mean I havent traveled a lot at all really except to a few states in the US. Id really love to travel though. Ive always wanted to travel to Japan or China bc ive always been fascinated by their culture and with martial arts. They seem to be obsessed with the US as well. I can sit down and watch any martial arts movie really. I love Bruce Lee movies the most but Ive seen a fair share of others that were really good. Ive actually given Wing Chun and Kung Fu lots of thought but Im so indecisive, its hard for me to make decisions a lot of times. I didnt know the legend that Wing Chun was started by a woman. Thats interesting. It's funny you mentioned Aikido, I was actually doing some research last night on Aikido and how effective it is. I found out that Aikido isnt utilized much in the UFC (very little) bc it would be extremely hard to utilize it against a skilled fighter, but it is extremely effective in self defense. It could be used to stop and/or deflect attacks. You say Aikido is popular where you live? Where do you live if yoh dont mind me asking and what other martial arts are popular where you live? Im not much of a dancer but ive always been into sports. IP: Logged |
