quote:
Out-of-bounds planets are any that have a declination greater than 23 degrees 27’. The declination is the angular distance of a planet north or south of the celestial equator.

Out-of-Bounds simply means “outside of the boundary of the ecliptic”, or the path of the earth’s orbit around the sun. (This is the apparent path of the sun through the sky.) Because of the tilt of the earth’s axis, the sun appears to stay within 23 degrees 27’ north of the equator and 23 degrees 27’ south of the equator. Anything “outside” of that is considered “Out-of-bounds”.

If you pull up your chart at astro.com and click on Additional Tables (PDF), you'll get a list of your planets' declinations.

Here is a good article on out of bounds planets.

My Mars in Gemini is out of bounds and it's pretty obvious. Quote from the above article: "On the positive side, Mars OOB can give generous amounts of ambition, courage, self confidence, masculine energy, daring, boldness, drive, physical vitality, passion, will power, stamina, adventure and leadership ability."

The masculine energy is something I have attributed to having a planet in each of the masculine signs; this is just one more thing. Three times in my life, I have cut my hair short and dressed in a very masculine way...the first two times (age 7-11 and 15-16) I was mistaken for a boy on more than one occasion. Coming to terms with my femininity was like a major stepping stone for me, and I'm happier now. Still, men tell me that I'm not like other women, conversationally I seem to be more focused and aggressive than other women, and this is both an asset and sometimes embarrassment.

Well enough about me~ anyone else with out of bounds planets? What do you make of them?

Interesting My sister's moon is OOB, I actually just checked her chart because I suspected as much, and in her case it's more related to artistic genius/torment.

My moon in Gemini is OOB at 26 degrees and Uranus is also OOB at 23 degrees 34'.

A friend once said that I'm "one of a kind."

My intuition is very good. I've learned not to ignore it because whenever I have, I've gone on to regret it.

My Mars is out of bounds.

I don't have issues with my femininity per se, I'm just not feminine by nature. What I do think it gives me is a lot of physical endurance - the kind of person who can keep hobbling around getting stuff done when a lot of other people just can't keep going.

Moon: 23º39' S
Uranus: 23º37' N

The negative of these OOB planets make me sound deranged.

My 1st house Mars is OOB in Sagittarius & on the Galactic Center. I've always felt less feminine than my counterparts (although they say it's in my mind), I thought it was due to Saturn opposite Venus, but I guess it could be a OOB Mars thang.

I don't get angry often, but when I do it's EXTREMELY scary.

I know 2 women with OOB Venus. One is obsessed with clothes and her image, the other is obsessed with the attainment of romantic relationships.

Venus is my OOB. The description fits certain bits of me from my past, but not so much currently.

I wonder if Uranus OOB is just sort of a generational thing? My mom, dad, and mother in-law all have it, born within a year or less of each other.

Otherwise, I don't have any (including outer planets).

My husband, mom, and mother in-law all have Moon OOB though. I'll have to give it another read before I can really assess that objectively.

Moon, Mars and Mercury OOB.

Definitely an interesting subject, but except for one or two things, I don't really feel like those descriptions apply to me.

Faith it seems to me that you always have some of the very interesting topics. Thank you for the link

LOL Venus out of bound. Heh the bit about indulgence is pretty true for me haha.

ooh I have Lilith oob.

My father has venus and mars out of bound. Some parts of those descriptions are true for him as well.

quote:
He often responded to poor reviews by saying "I cried all the way to the bank" and after doing a spectacle of a show telling the audience "I've had such a marvelous time I'm ashamed to take the money"--pause, wink, wink--"but I will" (8, 9). His over the top home features a musical theme and especially fancy is the piano

LOL hahaha I can totally see my dad say things like that.

True my s.o has oob mars in cancer and I was kinda shocked about cancer mars cause it's a bit too wimpy. Though the above can also be a result of Moon conjunct Mars.

OOB Moon 25°20'47 Declination and Uranus 23°35'31" S

Salvador Dali's OOB Uranus "Physically, he liked to stand out from the crowd and with his long cape, walking stick, haughty/ manic expression and upturned wax mustache, he certainly did just that! Dali had several memorable quirks such as: speaking simultaneously in a combination of French, Spanish, English and Catalan, keeping his fans' pens when signing autographs, avoiding paying the bill at restaurants by drawing on personal cheques (he correctly assumed the restaurant would keep it as a valued work of art rather than cashing it), speaking in the third person and even giving a dead mouse as a gift! "

LMFAO I could hang with him.

Thanks for the thread, Faith. Yet another interesting part of astrology to study!

I have an out of bound Moon, Venus and Uranus.

So at least I'll be an extremely intuitive, romantic and genius person, right? RIGHT?!

I think we need more descriptions for out of bounds planets. Does anyone have some links you think are very informative for your out of bound planet/s?

Heh. Me too, sort of.
But even Uranus isn't OOB in my chart. Now I feel all boring. I'll have to do some weird Full Moon thing to counteract that.

Wow, thanks 12muddy!

That first link is amazing! My Moon is declination conjunct Uranus and inconjunct Venus.

If BML counts as part of a yod, it's sextile my Venus with my Moon as the focal point as well.

Looks like I'm the weird one here!
