For me I was struggling with religiom and researching different beliefs when pluto transited my 9th. After it passed my midheaven I completely changed my beliefs. Neptune and chiron transiting my 12th have made me VERY interested in anything transcendentalso I am all into energy now.IP: Logged |

Checked the 9H ruler, no aspects to uranus or jupier. A sextile to neptune though. T-saturn in the 9H, shouldn't that have a stabilizing effect on my religious views? IP: Logged |

One transit I remember was Saturn return. my natal Saturn is the 9th. I can't remember the other transits but I'm sure Saturn return is not the only one that made me drop my previous belief. It wasn't difficult to do, as I was never a true believer to begin with. My mother forced me to embrace it and I just made it look like I did just to make her happy. ------------------ old ID astrofan123 Leo sun Scorpio risingIP: Logged |

Yes, also the house with Sag on the cusp. In my case, Sag is in the 5th house, ruled by my 9H Jupiter, and when Pluto entered that house, I became religious. It was a completely different religion than what I was raised with. As Pluto left my fifth house, I was losing my religion. --- Also when I became religious, Jupiter was transiting my Pisces moon, Neptune and Uranus were transiting conjunct my Mercury in Aquarius. Uranus was actually separating from Mercury and Neptune, but it was conjunct my progressed sun. IP: Logged |

I think it feels weird because I really did believe in whatever I was practicing, but now, all my beliefs are washed away. It's definitely my 9H pluto. So you still believe in god? IP: Logged |

I understand. Yes, I do believe in God (I prefer to call it The Source) but its nature is probably not what you expect. Around the time I started questioning my catholic beliefs I had tPluto-Mercury, in Sag. Cool, isn't it? I'm never ever going to join any religion unless >>I<< create it ------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

Religion is a Sagittarius/9th house thing.Maybe Pluto sitting in the 9th house could have one looking at the religious order they were brought up under, in a more scrutinizing light: Either they will be vehemently opposed to it OR more supportive of its structures now more than ever. Add personal planets like the Moon, Mercury and Mars and the individual can , either be a fundamentalist or completely reject these doctrines.

Something to do with Uranus probably as this is the planet of sudden change and insight. Probably other triggers too, Pluto, maybe?

Happened to me in stages. I must say from the start that I was baptized and raised as a Christian in a traditional home (Taurus IC) and my mother is a fundie (I have Moon conj Neptune exact, in Sag. Telling, isn't it?). I have Libra on the 9H cusp with Saturn (the skeptic) and Pluto (the fanatic) there. First, I had t-Pluto conjunct Sag Jupiter in the 10th. I started to rebel against the authority the church and the priests were supposed to represent, but I would still call myself a christian. I used to think if I need to speak with God, I don't need to do it in a church and certainly with no intermediaries. Later on, while I was having t-Pluto on my late Sag Neptune, at the end of 11th house, beginning of the 12th, I started looking into the essence of (my) life. I questioned pretty much all the values I lived my life by (Neptune rules 2nd H). I experienced it as a loss of faith, basically, I am still struggling with this one because I didn't just lose faith in a deity, but rather in life in itself. I stopped being a Christian and I became agnostic and also struggled to find the true spirituality I thought religion has taken away from me. Still haven't found it fully. Around that time I joined LL. Right now I am under another Pluto transit, he's roaming through my 12H and decided to square my Aries Sun (my core self) and as it so happens t-Uranus conjuncts it. I am slowly but surely turning into an anti-theist, finally being able to voice my beliefs that religion is more toxic than helpful and very often harbors some form of abuse. Needless to say, this ruffles some feathers. I have not been an anti-theist until recently. I even wanted to live by "everyone is free to believe in whatever they want". However, no, people need to make that choice willingly and knowingly, and not because they're brainwashed and intimidated, belittled and threatened with eternal damnation and devils and beasts and the friggin boogie man. Fun fact: my Sun is also placed in the 2nd house.. funny how religion and self-worth get intertwined astrologically like that..

That's interesting. I would expect an anti-theist to consider astrology mumbo jumbo.------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

Because it is based on mythology? Doesn't bother me because I don't believe the myths actually happened. I don't pray to Hera or believe she ever existed. To me, they're just stories. However, what I can work with is the psychological archetype of Hera (basically, a baddass gal) and the echo it has in the collective consciousness, which is why astrology has any power, period. I can translate that archetype into a symbol and combine it with others and that's how I do astrology. Asteroids with city or country names work just as well even though they're not gods or mythical creatures. Was Shakespeare a god? No, but the asteroid might make interesting aspects to your chart if you happened to be particularly moved by his plays. Why? Because the collective consciousness gives them meaning and power and while I acknowledge mankind's various beliefs in "imaginary friends" throughout history, I don't have to adhere to their beliefs to use the knowledge of such beliefs for my own purposes. Plus, it kinda satisfies some of my liking for geometry and pattern seeking. IP: Logged |

Oh, looks like you're in the tiny minority that doesn't reject everything "supernatural". Do you believe in souls too? If you do, where do you think they come from?------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

Interesting topic. Personally I'd always had questions about Christianity but just kept them to myself mostly until Saturn started transiting my 12th. My parents got divorced, we moved, I switched from private to public school. Very isolating, plenty of time to think lol. Then I went on an intl mission trip ( mostly because I wanted to get away from home for the summer and like volunteering just without the religious aspect) But that was a turning point honestly, it was very fundamentalist, our leaders took things to extremes in ways that were completely irrational and even dangerous. About half our team broke out in what we later learned was a staph infection, but they refused to take us to the doctor because if "god wasn't going to heal us we weren't going to heal". Called the members of our team that had questions about their faith "spawns of satan", etc... And other things that were just too hypocritical, for example the husband leader was most definitely gay (it was obvious) but he was very much in the closet since that's "wrong" according to god of course...So anyway after that I stopped caring about keeping things to myself and became openly agnostic and started speaking up for the importance of tolerance, gay rights, etc. to the horror of my family lol. It was difficult but I've never regretted it even if it made me somewhat of a black sheep... I've always had that spiritual side tho and have been interested in a lot of different belief systems and religions... I think there's some truth to be found in each of them as long as you understand not to take things literally and all that.. I started getting into astrology when Uranus trined my Vertex in Sag. I had never looked back when it came to Christianity, but Jupiter transiting my 12th at the same time saturn squared my Jupiter-Venus brought someone into my life that made me re-challenge everything I'd left unresolved from my past and everything I believe spiritually.. I feel like I "lost my faith" in things and humanity in general for a while, but ultimately it's just pushed me forwards. But Neptune is squaring my Vertex-Moon and Pluto has been conjunct my 8th and 9th house ruler (Uranus). And Neptune/Chiron have been transiting my 9th for a while. So I'm not satisfied with shallow answers anymore, but it's still definitely a process. But yeah I've gotten very much into "energy" and patterns and the unified field of consciousness and all that these days lol. And some things I believe in such as re-incarnation I've never been more sure of... IP: Logged |
