My mom is a Leo sun with Mercury in Virgo. She has a lot of nervous tension and health issues. She likes to communicate but she tells the same stories over and over, even when they are off topic. She has always been this way and seems completely unaware that it annoys people.
I knew a sun Leo with Mercury in Leo. Much, much more confident than the Leo with Virgo Mercury. Something about Virgo planets can zap a Leo sun's natural confidence. IP: Logged |

As Leo with Virgo Mercury. I wouldn't say unstable emotionally. That's more to do with moon anyway isn't it? Unstable confidence, similar to what SSS said. At times I am incredibly confident and other really the opposite. It depends on many factors including what it is that I may or may not feel confident about.
Perhaps since my Mercury Virgo is 12th, almost all of my lack of confidence stays hidden. I will display confidence almost always whether it is genuine or not.
Only the very very close (S. O.) would normally see the lack of it.

Since when does Mercury zap energy? Sun/Mercury conjunction makes you a sharp speaker. Why are you even comparing this to a sharp combination and calling this weaker? You might as well compare it to someone with a Leo stellium.

Judging by my mom, Mercury in Virgo can indicate someone is sensitive and high strung and she is definitely those. Gemini can be high strung, too. Mercury might be the reason this quality can show up in these two signs. I am somewhat this way myself but Libra Mercury gives me some respite. It's a mellow sign of calm. Virgo is said to be placid. More often than not, it is very nervous and dissatisfied. Gemini has this, sometimes, too. Persnickety and fussy.

I like Libra Mercury with Virgo sun. It takes some of the strain away. Sometimes, I experience the typical Mercury dissatisfaction but Libra helps deal with it in a more graceful, calmer way. I appreciate having Mercury in Libra. Would not trade it for Virgo sun/Mercury for the world.IP: Logged |

my mom has this placement, and even with her leo rising/leo sun it seems like the virgo mercury makes her very self-conscious and hesitant when speaking. the same stories go around often and she's oblivious to it. i also noticed hesitation in the speech, not stuttering, but close. i think the virgo mercury can dampen the leo confidence. But wouldn't that make them aware of what they are saying. Like they try to say the right thing at the right time ? Or is that being tooo self conscious ?
