I can see the connection between wheat and Virgo since she is known for holding wheat in her clasped hands. That sounds like Ceres. Virgo is known as the house of bread. The connection between this sign and wheat is well established so there's a Ceres connection.

I am more on the side of Vesta for obvious reasons. I think she has more in common with this goddess.
Haha, if we could fuse Vesta and Ceres into Veres or Cesta, that would be the ruler!

When I read what Ceres represented before, Virgo hardly came to mind.

Virgo has a lot to do with harvest time, wheat and bread and those are all under the influence of Ceres.
Virgo is thought of the sign most associated with food due to it's connection with the harvest. It's not Cancer like most believe. It's actually Virgo, observe the calendar!

So I'm prepared to give Virgo some props here!

I'm talking about the personality it bestows.

Chiron seems like the best fit.

If we are talking personality and nothing else, I would go with Vesta. I feel more in tune with the Vesta archetype than any other.
I have that urge to guard and protect!

Well, we have our opinions.

That's why a combination might be necessary

I just realized Vesta reminds me of the Statue of Liberty :/

Okay.

Chiron and Vulcan

LOL

Or all 4 (Vesta, Chiron, Pallas and Ceres)

I actually had this theory, but I later realized flaws in it because I didn't really think it through, lol.
Because those 4 are not all close to each other, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
Like they were all apart of one single planet or astronomical object and was hit by an asteroid or something and knocked it's pieces into trajectory across the Solar System.

Enter Pallas...

Regardless, Vesta will always have a special place in my heart because she is just so bold and fierce. I consider her my guardian angel

I think Ceres suits Taurus.

I can't see Virgo going from - being ruled by Mercury (a 'masculine' or androgynous planet).. to being ruled by Ceres (the earth Goddess, associated with fertility and motherhood).
It just doesn't fit.

I can understand why male Virgos cannot relate to a ruler like Ceres or Vesta. Vulcan or Chiron are much easier to relate to, Mercury even.

Here's a pic of Ceres:
It does have something in common with Virgo. The wheat!

Here's traditional Virgo:

So for the Vulcan believers?

Wasnt vulcan raised under sea and became a master of weapons and fire??

What impact do you think this has on virgo?

The only connection I see is between the Vulcanalia, which was celebrated on August 23rd when the sun enters Virgo and the fact Vulcan was a craftsman, blacksmith to be exact, demonstrating the Virgoan work ethic.
He was the god of Volcanoes which are earthbound but also more Plutonian/Scorpionic than Virgoan.
Chiron was also lame, like Vulcan only he's a Centaur. I see these two mythologies connected to fire signs more than Earth.
Chiron is a healer and Virgo is the sign of doctors and nurses. That's not much to go on imo. No mention of anything prominent in the Virgo archetype.
Centaur sounds more like Sagittarius.

That's just my opinion. No disrespect, John

Just because Chiron is a centaur, doesn't mean it has anything to do with not being Virgo's ruler.

To me, it's nothing like a fire sign, (Sagittarius yes because of the personalty linking with Sagittarius as well, not because it's a centaur, but because of the thirst for knowledge) but rather fits Virgo's personality very well.

Chiron's makes one a healer to less-off people. It's always worrying if it did enough, if it did it perfectly, if it's flawless, and since nothing and no one is flawless, it helps others realize that. It is intellectual and searches for knowledge and teaches it. Signs share some characteristics with each other, so knowledge searching isn't only assigned with Sagittarius, but also Virgo and Gemini, right? Well does Chiron also have something to do with Gemini? No, so that fits what I'm saying. It can relate to Virgo and Sagittarius, but Chiron's melancholy and fault-finding personality only resonates with Virgo out of them. Chrion is distant and eccentric from society, but not eccentric and shocking like a rebel type like Uranus, but rather doing it's own thing and behind the scenes, just like Virgo. Chiron also serves the planet it is in aspect with. (I noticed) It conjuncts my Venus, and if you're going to say that my service-oriented love for a romantic partner personality (how I like to show my love and care to them) is not my Vedic Venus in Virgo, then it must be the Chiron/Venus conjunction within my birth chart. It makes me feel like I can never do enough for the person I love, when everyone tells me I did enough and let the other person do some.

Astrology gave ideas to Mythology, not the other way around. (I don't know if this is a fact, but the other way around sounds retarded and illogical if it's accepted)
Just because Mythology made him a centaur, doesn't mean it HAS to be Sagittarius. I mean, wasn't the centaur that Hercules killed bad? So I'm sure not all centaurs in Mythology have the same personality. They just happened to make Chiron a centaur in Mythology.

I have Sun conjunct Chiron and I can relate to this quite a bit. And if you think I'm biased, I also have Vesta in Virgo, so it's not like that. My Chiron is in Libra, btw. Sadly, lol.

I also find it interesting that it's located in between Saturn and Uranus. As if it has the practicality and work ethic of Saturn and mental ingenuity of Uranus, just like what Virgo has. Ingenious and practical. It's not restrained with the hard, cold, matter-of-fact logical personality of Saturn, but rather lifted with the intellect of Uranus.

Now I'm not anywhere near saying Chiron fits Virgo perfectly as a secondary ruler, because it obviously doesn't, but neither does the other suspected secondary rulers. I just find Chiron as the best fit for Virgo. (excluding Vulcan)

And no, I know it wasn't disrespect
Just as I have my opinion, you have yours, neither of us are correct. (by fact) So there will always be speculation.

I am late to this, but I have always felt Chiron aligned more with being a Virgo.

In my mind vesta and virgo are connected. Its just always been that way, I felt it intuitively when I was learning and its only been validated since (I thought I might be the only one to sense it until this thread).

As an example of someone who I think perfectly captures the virgo/vesta energy, there's Florence Welch. THAT'S a vesta Virgo.
