Let's not forget he played a lyre at gatherings. He also played 3D chess with others. He wasn't an introvert and even exchanged witty banter with McCoy on a regular basis. That's pretty social. And if you count the new movies he's also adept at social interactions, be they Vulcan or Terran. Not in a chummy, laughing guy who puts everyone at ease, but a very respectable face all the same which considers the ramifications (such as putting Uhura on the Enterprise when they were so close as that might appear as favoritism, and then quickly changing his mind when Uhura confronted him about it). You know, that kinda makes sense. As he wouldn't be influenced by the the signs, in the same way, at least. Now that I think about it, if he is a Virgo Sun, then since he was born on Vulcan, his Vulcan would be directly opposite his Sun in the sign of Pisces. Ahh, the hell with this, he's not real anyway, lol. IP: Logged |

I always associated Vulcan with Roman mythology. He was supposed to create the weapons of the gods and was associated with a blacksmith. I know this doesn't relate to Spock but another thread about Zeus has given me Greek/Roman mythology on the brain.IP: Logged |

So do you suggest we make up new constellations and planets just for Spock and try to figure things out from there, John?

Well Vulcan is supposed to rule Virgo, (hypothetically, of course) and Virgo is all about logic, so that should mean Vulcan has something to do with logic. IP: Logged |

Hmm, I don't know. I think the signs would be the same since we're in the same Solar System, but if we're using Vulcan to rule Virgo (as if Vulcan existed, it should rule it) then Vulcan should be directly opposite his Sun, as Earth is directly opposite ours since we were born on it. So him being a Virgo Sun is actually the same as having Vulcan in Virgo, as on his planet, Astrology would not have a faster planet than Vulcan - as to represent someone's sense of logic like I believe Vulcan does, as it is usually in the same sign as the Sun sign. Mercury would be the fastest planet in Astrology if we were born on Vulcan I believe, and I think he should have Mercury in Virgo, which is still a domicile for Virgo, regardless. Either way, he has Mercury and Venus in Virgo, (according to astrotheme) and if Mercury represents what Vulcan represents and Venus represents what Mercury represents while born on Vulcan, then he has both domicile in Virgo, which makes sense to me. I believe I am trying to get too scientific on this, as if this whole thread is intended to be that way. It was just about Spock's astrological placements, lol. My astronomical knowledge is not sufficient enough to draw a conclusion as to how the planets in Astrology would work when born there all that perfectly, though. IP: Logged |

Vulcan is hypothetically in between the Sun and Mercury. Was Vulcan not in the same Solar System as Earth in Star Trek? Or was it supposed to be a different Vulcan? I don't know, as I never watched it, lol. I just know how Spock is supposed to be, so I based my astrological opinion of him on that. IP: Logged |

What?!?!? You never watched it???? How can you admire Spock then? Since we all know that Vulcan is way too hot to support the kind of life form Mr Spock is, it cannot be that Vulcan. So, it must be someplace else. I guess it has a different name and Vulcan is just the human mythological equivalent? IP: Logged |

Yeah, makes sense. So my theory is out of the equation then. So I believe we can only base anything unless we know where Spock's Vulcan is. If in a different Solar System, then we should use a whole different Zodiac. Although, how complex can the different kinds of personalities get? So maybe our Zodiac is the same in the whole Universe. meaning in every Solar System, it has the same Zodiac influences. IP: Logged |

Yup, that's why I leave the task of figuring this out to you. You will need to formulate a list of constellations, planets and meanings. You are free to include more than one sun or moon if need be. IP: Logged |

Yay! I love when I can be creative and not restrict myself But I added to my last post. I said - Although, how complex can the different kinds of personalities get? So maybe our Zodiac is the same in the whole Universe. meaning in every Solar System, it has the same Zodiac influences. IP: Logged |

The planets, suns and moons would be different if Mr Spock was born on Vulcan. He might even have different constellations if it's really far or in a different galaxy, Andromeda, for instance. IP: Logged |

Yes, but the constellations aren't affecting is, the vernal equinox on the ecliptic is. In Vedic Astrology, they use the fixed constellations. IP: Logged |

Yes John but if the galaxy is Andromeda, how can the constellations be the same? Earth is in the Milky Way galaxy. Andromeda's next door.

They aren't the same. But what I was trying to say is it wouldn't make a difference since the constellations do not influence us anyway. IP: Logged |

My take on his chart. I know he’s supposed to be born in another solar system, so this chart is more like the psychological equivalent of what I think his chart would be like.Asc 23 Aries Sun 15 Capricorn 10th house Moon 28 Virgo 6th house Mercury 12 Aquarius 10th house Venus 07 Capricorn 9th house Mars 24 Gemini 3rd house Jupiter 10 Leo 4th house Saturn 24 Aquarius 11th house Uranus 12 Gemini 3rd house Neptune 03 Virgo 5th house Pluto 07 Scorpio 7th house This version of Spock is partly inspired by Leonard Nimoy’s (born March 26, 1931) real chart, and partly by how I see the character of Spock. I think that’s where I got the Aries Rising ruled by a Gemini Mars from. He is direct and sharp in his speech. I put degrees on the planets because I wanted to highlight the aspects I see in his chart as well. I gave him a Cap Sun with Virgo Moon (both ruled by Saturn and Mercury in Aquarius), because I see him as rational and self-controlled, as well as highly intellectual and analytical, where he would compartmentalize (try to contain) his emotions. I also think Saturn in Aquarius trine Mars in Gemini suits intellect/self-control theme. Mercury in Aqua is both ruled and trined by Uranus in Gemini, and Mercury is also opposite Jupiter in Leo. I picked Jupiter in Leo for him because this a bit of pride and dignity to his character, which is not earthy or airy. I also detect some hints of idealism, in opposition to his rationality, within his character... A kind of 'ethical honor' if that makes sense. Venus in Cap sextile to Pluto indicates a side to him that is usually kept under raps, but self-control is still evident (I don’t think I’d go as far as the Scorpio Venus previously mentioned). Pluto in the 7th also means he would tend to perceive ’others’ as too intense and emotional, and he attracts that energy in reaction to his apparent coolness. Here’s Leonard Nimoy’s chart. It would be like fan fiction. You could write an entire novel on Mr Spock's Vulcacentric natal chart. If Nimoy is an Aries it's only fitting his character Mr Spock be a Libra. If I ever have my own character she is bound to be a Pisces. IP: Logged |
