I've been wanting to ask about this book for quite some time, but held on to it for so long since it wasn't exactly an astrology question.

Has anyone here read it? If you have, what do you think of it/ about it?

Also, I feel like the 'Law of Attraction' is somehow related to astrology or could be proven by astrology (the way we attract through our Venus), but again I'm not sure.

In my opinion, I think that book is nothing but a beautifully crafted BS.

An example would be a person who is always being pessimistic. Ill never get that job constantly thinking and saying it. This will attract that. Its all about reversing. Thinking im going to get that job. Things are gonna turn out great. Thats what the secret is really about.

Think positive. Picture good things happening.

COSIGN!!! Although I am firm believer in having positive attitude, this sort of gimmick marketing preys on the innocence (or desperation) of people.

It works for me but only if I believe it. It is hard to get the mind to follow the heart sometimes (set ways in thinking)

I think it only works when you believe you already have something and are grateful for it.
You have to feel completely convinced that you have the "thing" in question.. so convinced that you don't even fret about it... kind of like - you are 'laid back' and at peace.. it has always been there.

I accidentally did this previously - before I'd even heard of the secret and it always seemed to work.

It's like it materialises because you are so convinced that it is there.. that it becomes your reality.

It's almost similar to the placebo effect - but it's not as easy to explain or prove scientifically... or believe (unless it happens to you).

All this deception and yet they blame Neptune in synastries. What I want to say is, you really don't have to do some creepy Buddha stuff, if you want something, just go for it, as direct as a current, nonstop. Easier said than done, yes. BUT nothing is created from scratch or by magical brain energy. It's simple, physics: things at rest stays at rest, things in motion stays in motion, unless there's an external force to stop/move it.

For how long I have been mentally dating Johnny Depp?! 9 years. I should have had his babies by now.

Positivity helps a lot in life but you can't be so optimistic and still make empirical decisions. There is a reason why our minds skeptical/slightly cynical.

Hey I'm going to dress this way to an interview because if I love what I am wearing so will my future employer because i'm so positive even though being super positive all the time ****** off a lot of people.

But I'm more balanced between cynical and optimistic.

Im optimistic about spiritual things like I don't believe in bad karma or hell or anything that is self defeating because it's stupid to even think about because it's not even something that directly affects us.
Like people complaining about their placements lol.. I can always see positivity probably in anything.
Im going to be critical about other things that require sound decisions. I don't see how postivity can increase wealth.... lol maybe most social things

^right. Sometimes over positivity ruins it. Overestimating your ability or just being too confident or optimistic about achieving things in time and then BAM you're behind the deadline.

If you see it "working" it might just be a coincidence or due to your sheer persistence stirred by your constant want or need.

Yes of course you can work at it and get anything you want - if you are practically able to.
The topic of this thread is completely beyond that though. It's kind of connected to the practical aspect of things but also entirely disconnected.

It's not about optimism as much as it is about forming beliefs that bring you good things, believing and knowing that you deserve good things and they are coming your way even if you can't see it.... What they are teaching is how to not giving up hope and become a slave to your fears!

But they make it sound prettier and add a lot of filler words in the book. I think they make it seem harder to get....probably so you have to turn to them for support to do the process they have you follow, then they make more money!
The process works but it is a very personal journey and it's not something you get over night! It's hard to!!!
It's pretty much requiring you to break down the beliefs that allow fear to rule you. Fear will stop you from seeing you deserve the very best and stops you knowing you will get what you deserve once you believe in yourself and know you deserve it!
It's all very true if know the psychology behind it, but if don't believe in it...it won't work for you because doubt is what allows fear to break down the energy that brings good things back to you!
The law of attraction....what you believe you deserve is is what you get!

I'm not sure you get the point.. and actually the book is irrelevant.. because this just happens. I didn't feel like I needed a book to explain it.

You seem to think someone is advising you to dream aimlessly.... You may have misinterpreted something.

Well okay...
I think you misunderstood me.
I'm not even offended by it, people can dream as much as they want..
I think it's a waste of money though.
That's why I don't like it.... I read a few chapters and it's basically someone telling you do think positively like your parents would... It's not a new concept...

As for astrology Jupiter of course.

It works. It depends upon lots of things though, for example you will need to change your whole vibration, not just your thoughts. I don't feel like forcing our thoughts to be positive will work, our negative thoughts will just remain suppressed in the background.

Venusian, Gabby & anonymi

It works but you have to remove all doubt first. Which is actually the hardest step.

The concept itself actually corresponds to the religious concept of faith - believing in something 100%, with all your being; "expecting" something to happen as if there were no other way. It's all related.

Easier said than done, though. I think that's why it doesn't seem to "work" for many people - we're too used to overthinking and being cautious and self-protective. We're conditioned to always think twice before making a move. Self-doubt and skepticism seem to be the epidemy nowadays.

There are some stuff about it is quite tricky to "get".

I've noticed that it works on the really small things and I end up getting what I want, but its delayed.

I think there is a part where they say that the more you "ask" for something, the less likely you are to "get" it as that "asking" is a an aggressive feeling of not having it and thus, pushes it away!!

Aopparently, there is nothing that the "Universe" cannot give to you and so when you are asking in desperation(the stringest feeling being that of being incomplete), the "Universe" will give you that feeling of being incomplete etc.

I get it.

The problem with it is that it puts everyone on the same level of being able to "get" what they want.

We know that, from our experience of reality- depending on geographic location, skin colour, language , height, beauty etc.- most of us don't "get" what we truly want and have to be realistic and settle.

I would like to be 1.88 m tall, with flawless skin and generously proportioned but reality says that I am 1.75m and average in size.

No matter how "aligned" to the feeling I get, I will not sprout to the desired height(at age 30).It just won't happen.

Perhaps the real "Secret" is not in asking for what you want but in loving what you already got???

The "anything is possible" talk just doesn't sit right with me. And I have a Neptune conjunct Sun aspect natally.

i do believe it works & have attracted things - strangely before i read the book & not since. felt uneasy with it and also certain things might not be good to wish for - now kind of believe it's better to find a pure way to be or to only imagine things in tone .. for instance .. picturing being happy as opposed to happy because of xyz.
