From the time you first started studying astrology, how long did it take you to be able to look at someones chart and be able to interpret it well enough? After how long did you become good? IP: Logged |

About a year and a half to get really familiar with everything and be able to glance over a chart and do some basic interpreting, of course I'm still constantly learning new things. I doubt you could ever run out of things to learn tbh IP: Logged |

4 months to be honest--going 5 months now, but it's just the basics. I'm still learning more and being on this site really helps a lot.------------------ Gemini Ascendant Sun in Leo Moon in Cancer Mercury in Virgo Venus in Virgo Mars in Libra "You were born a lion. I learned the basics like houses, planets aspects etc in about a month, then i became more familiarized with it, now almost 1.5 years later i can usually guess someones major signs from looking at them without knowing their birth date or time.I was very curious about it from the start so i looked up the charts of friends and family etc. just for fun, and looked up interpretations of diffrent aspects, placements etc. i found that helped allot in the beginning. The only way to REALLY learn how to read charts is to come across the charts of many people you know personally and molding your interpretations from that. However a lot of us don't know that many people whom we also have the birth time info of, so many resort to trying to read celebrities charts... which is not a great way because many of the birth info of celebrities posted online- including Wickapedia- is just plain wrong. Agents like to publish false birth data because the older a performer is the more difficult it is for them to get work in hollywood or the music business. Another good way is to ask others on Linda Land what THEIR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE was with a relationship with a certain aspects. There are all sorts of interpretations online, but some are either not good or muddy in their interpretation. So getting thoughts on personal experience helps. IP: Logged |

Probably a while and then suddenly I knew. I am not even sure how long because at first all I cared about was sun sign descriptions and I just saw these and nothing else. My mind was ignorant to anything else and I had this overwhelming need to focus on sun signs only. I didn't want to acknowledge anything else so I ignored moon signs and refused to understand what they meant or acknowledge them. Suddenly I became bored with sun signs then I couldn't get enough of moon signs and from then on I learned about everything else. I gave myself practice quizzes on symbols so I could become good at reading charts. I don't even know when I became fluent in astrology but it didn't happen overnight thanks to Taurus moon mentality.IP: Logged |

I have no clue as it has been twenty years since I started studying the stuff. I know a little over a year later I was reading friends charts in 1995.IP: Logged |

It's an eternal lesson! There is always more truth to be found, we have only scratched the surface. Each and every chart is so unique and complex I don't think any human has the ability to fully grasp the entirety of one. Every astrologer will have different insight as well as each person can only interpret a chart to the extent that they have themselves evolved and we are all at different stages of evolution and learning different lessons at different times, which is why I suppose we are all here, to help each other and learn about ourselves/each other IP: Logged |

I don't know. It is like it's own language, and there are some that take it pretty deep into the rabbit hole.IP: Logged |

3 years... Self taught. If someone wants to learn, it'd be a lot quicker but I didn't come in and learn to read charts until the past year or so IP: Logged |

Lol @ MoonWitch's "I'm lazy" I interpreted a few couples composite chart throughout my lifetime of knowing Astrology but I still think theres a lot more I need to learn before any serious chart reading is to be done.I feel like most of the reading I've done was for pleasure and not to actually know stuff. so I just recently started posting on LL again and I'm going to try to get back into In depth Astrology some more... & Good job to PeterPan for guessing someones sign by looking at them.
I def. agree with Deepseablues& to answer your question when I joined lindaland I used to read a lot on it... ------------------ " Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present." -Joan Rivers Be who u r and say what u feel cuz those who matter dont mind & those who mind don't matter IP: Logged |

I'm still learning, but getting familiar with the signs, planets and houses probably took me 6 months, aspects, asteroids and that stuff still confuse me sometimes. Anyway, the total time I've been learning has been around 3 years more or less.IP: Logged |

I would say that it starts coming together at 3 years but it can never be mastered, per se. It is an ever learning and refining situation imo------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

What I did was go to the library and studied every astrology book they had. I went to bookstores and bought my own astrology books. I read them over and over for years. I spent a lot of time drawing the symbols for each sign and planet. Astrology was my psychological refuge. IP: Logged |

I did this for about a full year or so.
I went to the Personal Readings Forum and just did charts. It was lovely. People appreciated it and gave me a lot of love back.
I made friends I still have. I never expected to be a professional astrologer. I just followed my passion and it happened. I never fail to get excited when I look at a chart. I truly love this field. It does require one to commit oneself, though. Anything worthwhile takes discipline and commitment and this is no exception. Even if you are a super beginner, try to help out in the Personal Readings Forum and your Astrology Skills will really soar imo ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Astrology is an art..you grow with it and hopefully grow into it's flow and that's when you start getting good!! It's been 10 years and I'm still learning new things everyday! Just when you think you really understand something you gain a deeper understanding and it changes your view! You will continually grow!As far as the basics, it took maybe a year or 2! I was pretty casual with it and read more than I did charts and really it's doing charts that give you the best understanding!
