First of all I just want to point out that I'm a Gemini myself.
Is there an expert that can explain why we go from hot to cold all the time?------------------

I'm no expert but I thought it may be helpful to respond. I'm a Gemini in the 8H with Libra Rising/Sag Moon. I know for myself I go from hot to cold quite a bit because its the basic nature of a Gemini. We are ruled by Mercury--think of how mercury works. Its basically fluid and we operate as such. It's the only metal to melt at cold temperatures and isn't a good heat conductor but great for electricity. Think of it that way and you'll start to get a better sense of the Gemini. The symbol is the twins which basically represents the duality of a person. In fact, I think Linda has described the Gemini woman as a one woman harem. Geminis have many personalities and moods because the goal is intellectual stimulation and the coinciding freedom that comes with that. She or He is on a grass is greener trip...always searching, researching, compiling data, comparing/contrasting, and this is all for mental stimulation and the quest for knowledge and this carries over to people and things. Once you've lost their interest, a Gemini will move on and that's where the running hot and cold will impact people the most. You have to keep up with Geminis literally and figuratively. They will leave you in the dust, because basically they have no use for you any more. That's why people feel that Geminis are so superficial, shallow and back stabbing. They are communicators and that's essentially what they are here to do, learn and communicate that to others. I wouldn't say they are teachers in conveying information and knowledge, that's mostly Sags. Geminis live in a world of ideas and boy are they lightening fast, many ideas going at once, and thoughts bouncing off of each other. Their minds go a mile a minute. Can you imagine pairing up with a Taurus--who is more slow and deliberate in speech and communication? This is where hot and cold comes in so very easily....anyway all this is applicable to their love lives as well. You have to have some amazing spunk and spark to keep Geminis interested. Thanks for answering although I don't think Geminis have anything to do with Mercury the element but Geminis are rather ruled by the planet Mercury. I understand you were just trying to give an explanation to how we feel. I still dont understand why we go from hot to cold though. I'm also a Gemini sun in 8th house. I know that the twins are comprised of 2 sides, emotional/ intuitive and intellectual at the same time...maybe it's just our duality...but I just wish I knew more in depth why we go from hot to cold so often...why can't I just stay hot? Lol, I don't like going "cold".

I think it might be due to the ruler Mercury. Gemini is one of the signs existing in their own minds a lot of time, thinking about stuff. They think of something they don't like only they don't tell others what they are thinking. Then they feel cold if this thought is something they do not approve of and if this thought is about a person, they will be cold toward them. Since Geminis keep the original thought to themselves, the person experiencing this coldness has no idea why it happened.
I suspect this is explains my Gemini pal a lot of time, I just forget about this and think what is it when part of me realizes this is most likely why Geminis get moody. Over-thinking.IP: Logged |

as a Gemini, i agree with this :P
We tend to keep our toughts to ourselves and because of that, more often than not you won't know why we went from hot to cold and vice versa.

I know we are ruled by the planet Mercury, but when thinking about the planet, mercury, I started thinking about the metal itself. I was a Bio/Chem major in college so bear with me. I just got off on a tangent. But the qualities of mercury the metal are unique and rather unlike other metals because of their mutable state. Haha, I figured that's what you meant....I did appreciate it, and I know what you really meant. I start Physics this fall....but not sure what sub-category of physics, and idk what minor either. Yeah, I know what you are saying. You seem to know Geminis quite well. I'm looking for the root cause though because sometimes it hits me out of no where. Sometimes it's related directly to what I'm thinking, but other times there's no reason for me to get moody, but I do. I've noticed this with most Geminis too....lol this person I worked with, I could tell he was a Gemini and when he told another co-worker that he went from a good to bad mood constantly throughout the day, it was a dead giveaway. I was next to him when I overheard him say it and I said, "Oh, you must be a Gemini then." And he said "Yeah, I am." Lol IP: Logged |

I used to be like that. One minute hot and then suddenly i would turn cold. Then i realised this used to happen when Im emotionally/physically drained out of energy. Thats when i would need my space and get irritable when ppl try to get anything emotional or try to invade my space. I would get cranky and sarcastic.Give me that space i will definitely come back with a bang. Its a cycle. A very repetitive cycle. Have u noticed Geminis would keep their house clean this week and then the next week would simply refuse to lift their finger to do any chore? I am like this. Same thing with people. Yeah, i know what you mean by feeling drained....but I still try to push through it though. It's more of a social drain feeling with me though....I struggle socially sometimes, and it's at its worst when I'm drained like you said. I wouldn't say I lack stamina but I know what you mean though...I need space...but I find comfort in just pushing through it, because it ticks me off and I'd rather just challenge it when i get this way rather than stand back and do nothing....probably has a lot to do with my aries side though and I'm very impulsive and action oriented even when I know I'm gonna fail and not gonna be natural...everyone is different though. I get u! I have my mars in libra and venus in aries(mutual reception). I think it is difficult when we try to push through. What I have learned is not to accomplish anything within a shorter span of time unless itbis an emergency. It never helps me to finish what would normally take a week to do within two days and then get all cranky and drained out. I take time as often as possible from doing things(excessively) or over-thinking/analysing things. I take mental rest. When i was a teenager i would get cranky and irritable without prior warning. Nowadays i plan and hit rock bottom .Also i make sure to tell ppl whenever i need my space.I also give them a reason why i need that space. I think telling
them why i need that space so they will understand me. I try to avoid multi tasking too much. This has actually helped me a lot. Im much happier and easier to be around too : )
Another reason why we come across as cold is we might be bored of a particular person on that particular day and we might have something more exciting to do. Thing is we crave new experiences/new magical moments. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I understand that. I'm more of a get it done in bulk type of guy but my apartment would go for a long time without being cleaned...disgusting I know... but it was ridiculous, I should've kept up on it...I can definitely plan though..i consider myself a master at it...but I just hate cleaning, Id be too busy doing other things..and my Mars is in Aries...so I'm all about going to the extreme at times and like to finish things fast lol..to get them out of the way...my moon is in aries too, so i guess its my emotional response to everything is to be extremely impulsive lol. Well my moon in Leo is one of my fav placements. Sadly moon is in my second house. Maybe it means financialy fluctuations?I dont know... only thing is ppl dont see my leo moon. Ppl see me as a fun loving smart woman. Only my closest of friends see me as a loyal generous loving person.
All my closest guy friends have a strong Aries placement either their sun or moon. Mostly moon. Do u guys get over crushes at the blink of an eye?IP: Logged |

Lol, I don't want to talk about it, but I play basketball, football, and baseball...I grew up playing all of them, but I played one year of football and ran track for 3 years in high school. My crushes dont last long, but I've never had a long relationship, they have all been short because I screwed them all up lol....those are good qualities you have....never lose sight of them. Aries mooners r kinda explosive... dont worry about it. I wasnt all that great when i was younger. I wasnt all that good. I used to make guys fall for me hard and then i would lose interest the minute they ask me to be their gf. I dont know if it was intentional but i would never cross the friendship line with them even tho i knew they r falling for me i would play innocent. But i so badly wanted to be really in love but i couldnt.I think real love escapes us. Problem is with this FB stuff ppl come back after few years n remind u of yr mistakes.I have venus in aries. I blame all that on my venus sign. I wonder how u handle your emotions.. all the aries mooners i know have a short temper.
