Well, the sun and aspects to Asc modify appearances a lot. I posted my pics here and ppl seriously thought I was either capricorn or Pisces rising. They could tell some fixed influence as well but it is extremely hard to guess Asc without info on sun and moon sign. Normally libra rising has the eye structure like Britney Spears (look up her younger pics). If I see someone with the similar eyes, I'm certain the person is libra rising. However, it only goes one way. I can't spot Libra risings with more modified Asc. Cancer using tend to sit their and soak it in, very introverted. Cap rising looks like Rachel Maddows and Howie Mandel. Gem risings tend to talk really fast but Miley Cyrus with Gem first house talks really fast too even though she is late Taurus Asc.
So really, it's difficult to tell. The moon signs and in some cases the sun signs are easier to spot because they do show up in ppl eyes as well.
