I used to be friends with a girl who needed to control how everyone thought of her and she wanted their thoughts to be positive. Always. She acted like it didn't matter what everyone else thought about her, but it definitely did. Very charming girl though. Could get away with everything.

She was a Capricorn with Leo rising. Her Sun and Venus were placed in the 5th house.

Was she actually pretty?

My placements are similar to hers.

Maybe if I was ever pretty I could have gotten like that.

If mean if I fed my ego with compliments about my looks, and worked for those compliments, I would want that feedback to tell me I succeeded with my mission.

Instead I was just looking for compliments like, "You're so smart."

But once I met people much smarter than me, I kinda gave that up too.

I am Leo Ascendant w. Pisces sun and Virgo moon, with Uranus and Neptune heavily aspecting my personal planets...

I am weird, I want people to *know* that I am beautiful, strong, smart, etc... But I don't need to hear it from them. I want to see it in their behavior. They don't need to give me a compliment, but when I don't notice people checking me out out of the corner of their eye, then my ego is crushed. I am not you typical gal in the sense that I don't wear makeup, I don't do my hair....I guess that is an ego thing as well, bc I don't feel like I need to and I can still stand out.In fact, I think it may be partially to wanting to impose the image of - Look how great I am even thought I don't try.
I am not attracted to being trendy, I would rather people think I am *different*. I would actually be offended if people thought I was trying to follow a trend. I don't copy anyone else's style.. I make my own clothes, and wear weird things for the most part, lol. I hope I am not just sounding awful, my ego poses one of my biggest challenges for growth. I know that I am quite insecure really, and that these things just sort of cloak my ego in some comfort. Underneath it all, I sometimes do wonder if I am really attractive at all or not? I vacillate between thinking I am beautiful and thinking I am kind of gross.

Edit - I was similar, wanting people to notice me for my personality and not my looks. So I would downplay my looks on purpose, hardly ever dressing up or making a serious effort.
