In your chart, I see three whether you use Neptube or Jupiter. If you use Jupiter, the third is questionable with that wide square.

The other chart also shows 3.

Oh, thank you!

About the second chart, what about Venus in 8th Virgo though? Isn't that a bad position for the first child?

wow that's some serious ninth house!

look at solar return year for timing: the birth of children, major life changes, establishing home/family.

For the second chart? Yeah that's a pretty full 9th I'll look into solar returns too. Thank you!

I have a friend who doesn't know his birth time. I tried to figure it out for him and remember using something like this to get his ascendent. I tried using an Aries rising which works for him and that puts cancer on the 5th. He has 4 kids and 4 major aspects to his moon in 11th. However these are A&S aspects to the moon.

Using only applying aspects and only the major aspects, he has no planets with 4 applying aspects. Again, using only applying major aspects there is no way I can get his chart to work except if I use the inconjuct. That would give him 4 applying aspects to his pluto and make him a Leo rising which would also work. Still it's only 3 applying aspects unless I add the A inconjuct.

???

He's has two marriages/divorces. Is there anyway I can double check the aires rising with 4 A&S aspects to his moon or the Leo rising with 3A and the A inconjuct aspect with something related to his two marriages and subsequent divorces?

This thread has been informative
I have 2 questions:
-do quintile aspects not count as well?

-What type of aspects to look for to find out about possible number of marriages or not etc?

I have Chiron in Pisces in the 5th house.

I have no kids though (and am now too old to have them). Missed opportunity perhaps? lol

How in the world are you defining chances?

According to this method, I should have 2 children. I have none, and will never have any (for natural reasons having to do with age).

So I missed 2 chances? I can't by any stretch of the imagination figure out what those chances might have been, because I certainly had sex in my fertile years more often than that.

From what I gathered you don't have to use up your "chances". My mom has 6 chances in her chart, but only had two. You can choose to have less or none by using birth control, etc.

And right there we have the basic problem with predictive astrology...show me something that can be verified, please.

I'm sure it wouldn't take a lot of looking to find the opposite: someone who by this method should have zero children, but has one or more. In fact, I believe my mother fits that scenario.

I'm by no means anti-astrology, but I use it for deeper psychological understanding, not prediction. Predicting things like number of children is ridiculous, unless you can show me data that proves a high frequency of accuracy. You can't do that when your criteria are vague, unprovable statements like "chances to have children" rather than actual children.

Actually Delilah423, I see your point. Do people really have 8, 11 and more applying aspects to their 5th house ruler? I'd find that hard to believe and yet women not too long ago had many many children.

I think there's a lot that goes into it: free will, technology available today that allows us to do a lot of things we wouldn't be able to naturally, etc.
Astrology, if well interpreted, can probably give us some indication, but I don't think it's destiny that can't be changed either. Nowadays, there are a lot of couples who naturally would never be able to have kids, but because of the technology available today, they can and will.
Having said that, I don't think anyone should trust astrological prediction with life....it's just curious to look at.

Jupiter in the 5th house especially with applying aspects to it is the potentiometer for a baker's dozen kids.
